thank you for the wonderful memories, I hiked the camino Del Norte and then first to Muxia to say farewell to a lovely young women whom I had met on Camino Frances who died in a tragic car accident (we also hiked camino Frances together she was a like a daughter to me) miss her a lot x Dankeschon

@@filiporoque4997 Thank you, we're going to walk along the San Salvador Camino to the start of the Primitivo in the hope we find our Camino legs along the way :)
I'll be sure to film the routes, and make daily updates on the Camino Hacks instagram channel. I'm sure you'll do well on the Primitivo, as I hear the Norte is tough in parts too.

this just hit me so hard in my nostalgic heart! miss this so much, you never really leave the camino. I walked in september last year and still miss it everyday. Thank you for the awesome content always makes me smile.
It tugged on my heart strings rewatching and editing the footage, it made me want to be back there so much. I feel your nostalgia. The Camino will always be in my heart ☺️

@@Caminohacks i only had 2 weeks and so we started in Leon and went to Finisterre. Im hoping to go back in 2025 and do the full french way because from South Africa it's really far.
That is a long way to travel. Fingers crossed you get to go back next year and walk it all. You’ll have an amazing time. If you struggle to get more than two weeks I’d recommend looking into the Portuguese camino, from Porto. I have footage of that journey to edit next
I'm doing the Camino Portugues in May; my first Camino. I already have that feeling of nostalgia, knowing I'll miss it everyday as well! Is it possible to miss something that I haven't experienced yet?
@@loreeraine7273it’s going to be an amazing experience that should stay with you long after you finish. You may well miss it, and end wanting to walk again 😊. Camino’s can get quite addictive

@@Caminohacks Thank you ! Appreciate that. I may end up just living vicariously because of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but I am hopeful one day I can do it at my own pace. Your video gave me an idea how it is out there. I feel like I am being called to do it, but I am afraid I don't have the physical capacity. I also looked into 'short camino' to see if I can be done it in small chunks a day at a time...

Do you use the same credentials/pilgrims passport all the way or do you need a specific one between finisterre and muxia?
@@gustavbergljung1480 you can use your normal credential. If you’re going to Muxia from Finisterre, remember to get a stamp half way along at the cafe stop, then you’ll be able to pick up a Compostela from Muxia too. Have an amazing time!

yes the editing is going well, but they are taking longer and longer 😅 but that’s because I work even more on them. It’s almost like walking again 🥹

Thank you, i took more time with this video and didn’t rush to get it out. I think that allowed to me go back and extend some pieces - i definitely think putting all as one longer video helped me with the pacing and tone. I walked in early June.
Take as long as you need, your videos are worth the wait. I found myself as a viewer quite invested in you and your female pilgrim group. The Irish girl has a lovely way about her and comes across well in your videos - the perfect pilgrim companion. Keep up the great work my friend and maybe I’ll see you on a camino route this year 😊
@@Caminohacks it really shows that you changed the pacing - it does the Finisterre leg justice, imo.
It’s funny because I’ve observed my shots getting longer and slower the longer I am on the Camino, go figure…

That’s very kind of you to say, thank you. When I’m moving along I don’t have as much time, but in finisterre I was able to shoot more, the same at the end in muxia. I’m slightly envious of how many cut aways you have in your edits - I’ll be filming more of those this year on the Primitivo.
Maybe as the journey goes on you’re relaxing into Camino life and with that it changes how you see the world, and capture it. Your time and attention comes across in your videos, they’re great and an enjoyable watch.
Community really is the magic that makes the Frances so so special.

Thank you for a great video. Especially as I did this camino last April and - because it rained most of the time - I didn't see half of what you can see in your video. I still loved every minute though and definitely thinking of doing it again to see what I missed. One tip I would add is that in Lires there is a beautiful beach and cafe overlooking it if you go round the church to the right. It only takes about 20 mins but definitely worth it if the weather is good. Have you done the Camino Vadiniense?
April can be a bit wet, but glad you still enjoyed your walk. I didn’t know about that secluded beach, it sounds lovely. I may walk this route again this year after finishing the Primitivo, so will check it out. I’ve not walked that Camino, have you? Where does it start?

I have a question. At 13:10, you show removing your Leki wrist protectors. As I train, my wrist and thumbs are complaining a bit to me, though I try to hold them properly and as loose as I can. I've not noticed anyone else use the protectors in any other video. What can you tell me about them? I went on the Leki website and didn't see them.
How exciting, your first camino! Great to hear you’re training for it.
The leki wrist straps allow you to hold onto the poles and use them correctly - it often means you don’t have to grip them as tightly. The Leki wrists straps are quick release, which is why you saw me taking them off.

Cheaper poles have a simple strap connected to the poles.

Interesting! I haven't heard of the quick release straps. Did you bring these from home because I've heard the airlines won't allow walking poles in carry ons and we aren't checking baggage. But perhaps I can buy these on the trail.@@Caminohacks
Because my poles aren’t cheap I don’t trust the airport so always put them in my bag and put them in the hold luggage.
I would Google to see if there is a hiking shop in Porto, there should be. You can pick up poles in Decathlon stores along the routes in Spain, plus the bigger cities have camping / hiking shops too.
