Some of the best pve, incredible story with a incredible finale, great open world, almost every mission is a legendary, 4 incursions, unique survival mode, Global Events still occur, and has iconic pvp.
What was the story about?
😂😂 PvP is still horrible
Pvp is doomed since there is many many cheaters 😢
Iconic pvp never said actually playable 😔
PvP with 3rd person camera = LoL
I recently redownloaded the division and loaded in my old character and just walked around and I was just breathless by how amazing the game looks today and as I walked around I had a flood of old memories with friends and how long ago it really was. This game will always have a special place in my memories.
Same here man I bought it the day it got released and made dozens of memories with it met some awesome people too through this game truly an underrated gem 😌
shed a tear to it today. also, found out my old build was so bad ol
I'm a pretty old gamer. 51 to be exact. And this is the last game I got into and I loved it. I was lucky to team up with another gamer who was only there to truly help me get started and he really made it an amazing experience for me. God bless those people. But afterwards I was always weary of teaming up again once I was well on my way on my own. It's unfortunate I know. But it was always something I just didn't want to get into for some reason.
I never once tried the DZ. I just kept to PVE and grinding for gear and progression through the story which I thought was great!
I hope to get back into it. And this video is encouraging. Thanks.
I got ten years on ya lol. I love gaming I was probably 51 when this game came out.
@@bravo2_0 Cool.
Actually, the guy who helped me out when I first got into the game was in his 50's also when the game came out. He was from Texas. Great great guy! Wish I remembered his gamertag.
you still play? you should join our group, 35-40 yr old dad gamers, we just picked this back up
@@plebbin. You trolling me?
That sounds like a lot of fun TBH. I'm not sure I could keep up though. I used to be pretty good at it. Made to Tier 5, or 1, can't remember what one was the highest but regardless. I spent many hours grinding for exotics and advancing slowly but surely in PVE. But I never actually finished the story mode. And I'm too chicken to ever go into the DZ. Hahaha. Maybe with a little backup?
Regardless, I should be getting back into PS+ in March, and start playing online again.
I must say, thanks for the invite! Unless it's a troll. But I can't imagine what the point of a troll would be come to think of it. Lmfao.
Make fun of an old gamer? Haha.
Regardless. Gimme your gamertag and when I get back online I'll look for you!
Peace out brother!
@plebbin. can I join...I'm 48 and play division 1 and 2
Still one of my favorite games to this day and haven't experienced anything like it since
Absolutely man! Good to see you, hope you're doing well!
god i miss D1 everything about it was the best.
I would love a survival mode in div2. It doesn't even have to be set in the snow,i think a really strong thunderstorm with immense rain and dark weather would also work really well. And since you can turn off your entire HUD including health bars and dmg numbers....it could be a perfect mode.
Amazing video.
Thanks man! I would love Survival in Div 2, but I think it'll likely never happen since the Devs view Heartland as Survival's spiritual successor. Wouldn't want to create inter-franchise competition
@@RogueGold Sim...
I think the sand storm would be a cool idea
Division 2 may be the better game in terms of gameplay mechanics and build variety but it just cant beat the original in terms of atmosphere. The mid winter New york is just so much more immersive and cinematic compared to dc.
100%!
gameplay mechanics on Div 2 is boring
💪💯
OST especially, Survival not in a dreams.
I wish the whole world was an mmo not just the hub. Honestly only thing I would want. Love division but gets boring after awhile when not seeing people. Make the missions only thing instanced and can join but or main missions, but everything else just let people run around and do together without having to be grouped
Ubisoft really nailed The Division. From the storytelling, atmosphere, customization, and activities, it all holds up very well.
Massive did, ubisoft has a lot of shit studios underneath them
The Division 1 stole my heart back in 2017 and still has it 😭😭❤
Been playing Division 1 off and on since its release. When I first started, it was so easy to group up and meet people. I met a lot of streamers and UA-camrs (mostly small time). I made a lot of online friends just by going around the DZ and just talking to people. Surviving manhunts are some of the best experiences I’ve had with this game. Whether it was on a rooftop in dz 5 or in the subway tunnels in dz 6, it was always a blast. There are still division friends that I still talk to and play with (on other games) to this day. Unfortunately, all of them have moved on but I still talk to them through discord and psn. There is no other game that has had this kind of impact and I seriously doubt that there will be another game like it.
Is the game worth playing now? It depends on what you like. If you are into PvP looter shooters then it’s super fun. If there weren’t so many modded lag-switching idiots, I’d probably still be playing the game right now. Thanks for the video. 🍻
The thing that i dont know is why div 1 graphics seem more realistic then div 2 i feel more immersed in div 1 then 2
It's the snow and the noise. It covers up whatever is lacking graphically. Division 2 is very bare.
I think a part of it is the choice of location and season. The winter lighting, harsh, simple buildings and low vegetation give lots of technical advantages to 1. 2 has trees, bushes, grass and such everywhere, and it's often very sunny. I haven't tested it on absolute highest settings, but on mostly high the light always feels a little bit off. At least to me.
Looking at textures and animations I actually find 2 better, but both are insanely good visually all around imo.
I couldn't agree more
Idk about everyone else but.
When i play Division 1, everything is smooth and gameplay mechanics are super fluid.
Division 2 feels clunky and sluggish.
yea exactly , i thought i'm the only feel that 🤣
Literally no other game compares to The Division in its prime. Not only was the game extremely immersive and atmospheric, but it was also a very social game!
I jumped into this after initially slightly playing the division 2. That being said I honestly liked it more then part 2 because of how raw and gritty it was like true New York but you are also helping people more. I missed that in part two because it’s just at check points or control points you are really helping like you would just help random people on the streets of New York and you would always get random gear for it. There was also a few random street bosses they weren’t involved in the main missions but they were a challenge. Honestly I’m still playing division 1 because I never beat it I’m still grinding through it but it’s fun to have a constant challenge. I also actually like being kept on my toes too which is rare for a lot of newer games the enemies will wait for you if they are computer driven this seems to some degree AI type intuitive. This is also an RPG for people that haven’t played it all your stats matter including your guns and armor it’s also a lot of strategy because different bosses and leveled have some unique tricks to them some of which I’m still learning I’ve been playing for six months got halfway though before I decided to buy the full version I restarted twice since then still not made it to completion but am learning new things each time. Also no super easy mode it is normal or hard and normal is difficult even for familiar shooter fans.
I've got an idea Ubisoft.. Why don't you remake Div 1 , improve it and call it a day! pleaseeeee
The GOAT! Had so many great evenings on this, met a great online community, have so many laughs through the metas. Who remembers one shoty sticks and the seeker mines are death? Popping a blue up that ladder at dz 2 for the full server to full send on each other. Great times
Hip-fire Deadeye 😄
me and my friend love this game and consider this game one of our favorites of all time. we recently replayed and releveled characters to experience it again and we had so much fun. I really pray and hope that Division 3 will bring back this same feeling and the snowy winter theme.... truly makes it even more dramatic. Thanks for this video!
Love hearing stories like that. I hope Div 3 is as awesome as we all hope, too!
So much love for The Division 😊
Always! ❤️
The division 1 LMAO dark zone still have people that been lad switching for like 6 years straight
I remember playing this with this crew who is now lost to time for me, the guy I played with the most had skip in his username and I can't remember the 2nd guys username, skip was in his mid 50s and the 2nd guy was in his mid 20s to early 40s, cant remember exactly, they helped me get the cool masks, my Nomad and Striker builds, damn that was fun
Survival Saturdays is a thing, loosely organized on twitter, one saturday a month, there's rolling queues every 30 minutes for the community to get matches
If you're watching this video and you're on the fence about buying The Division, just go for it. You won't regret it. It's a LEGENDARY game. Rogue covers it very well, but if you're looking for someone to second it, here you go.
🔥🔥
Funny that you made this vid today because I've been playing it for the past 3 nights, in fact I couldn't believe how packed survival was, in one lobby there was 9 of us.
I would add #4 being the Underground, LOVE that mode too.
That's awesome! It's great seeing how many people are consistently playing the various content
Bro how you get 9 lol
@@dmtjr4906 there were 9 players including myself standing in the little lobby area waiting to join a game, not sure why that is funny or confusing...
My wife and I play Survival every night. I wish this mode was added to The Division 2.
Your "should I play division in 2023" is what got me into the franchise.. And honestly it's been a blast ever since 🎊
Woah! That's so awesome to hear! So glad you've been enjoying 🙌
Couldn’t agree more. Survival is awesome. My first clear extraction was epic!!!
👊👊
Note: Do not but physical Gold Edition used. DLC is download code that is very likely to be already redeemed or expired.
It's amazing the feels this game gives me every time I log in. Lately only for Global Events, but since few weeks ago I'm coming back to do some activities (sorry for this) I've still not completed nowadays.
In fact, two weeks ago I managed to complete my very first solo PVE Survival run (sorry again XD).
It was thanks to Div 2 that I really understand what Div were (is). And playing Div 1 since Div 2 came out, makes it more special.
Div 1 will ALWAYS be part of me.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is another game that I like so much that I just got done replaying it from start to finish. I still have my Division 1 disk and I'm about to restart/replay it too from the start. The smile on my face for all the great memories that reawaken in me from playing Wildlands was such a good feeling. I know that Division 1 will top that. I can use some inner peace and healing right now after almost 8 years of garbage that came out.
I really don't understand how Div 1 looks so much better than Div 2. I'm not just talking world and atmosphere but even the playermodels look better
I still drop into Div 1 every couple of months just for the global events. Even though we bitched about it when it first came out I consider it a masterpiece in video entertainment.
I just started playing it for the first time two days ago, I’ve wanted to play it for so long and finally got around to it, and I love it as expected.
Love hearing that! Hope you continue to enjoy!
Sometimes in the division 2 we get a dust storm already in the game so would go well for a survival mode
After about 250 hours of division 2 I decided to hop back in to learn more of the division lore and such. Exploring NYC is so much fun I can't believe I skipped this game initially
Same
@mrdrprofdaddy Glad you've enjoyed it, it's definitely got a ton to dive into!
Loved pvp modes and the underground . Survival mode was insanely fun and way ahead of its time
I searched for this yesterday, then decided to buy Div 1 for pc anyway, after getting platinum on it on ps4 years ago lol. Technically good timing, but strange that many people seem to be thinking about it recently.
For me Div 1 is just a comfort game. The map feels so good to just roam in and explore, but there's still tons to do otherwise if I wish.
Div 2 is technically a better game in my opinion, and I think they generally improved on everything from Div 1, but I'll always prefer the NY in 1, I think. And 1 still is a great game, just to be clear.
Agree across the board! Glad you're still enjoying it!
I still play D1 regularly. Survival being my favorite aspect. Just wish I’d known about the fps of XBox before I started playing it on PS4. The game mechanics are a bit herky jerky as compared to D2 but content, weaponry, environment, etc are all great still. Underground is fun, too.
I played it a lot on PS4 and just bought it again on XXS, still having great fun with it.
We As People Should Bring The Division Back To Life
Man the division is fuckin iconic bro it's so good. I just went back and i can't stop playing after so much time in the division 2 which i love these are my favorite games.
We love to hate on Ubisoft but a good number of their titles are standing the test of time
Division 1 is far better than Division 2
Totally agree, it deserves to be remastered
Ive died more often in div 1 than i have in div 2. Plus div 2 is a lot easier gameplay wise especially pve
Haven’t played the 2nd. But with the first, there’s a special feeling, the atmosphere is amazing, you actually feel your helping people in the abandoned city, and the eventual progress you make at your base, you see the effects of what areas you decide to upgrade, the game is truly magical.
TD1 movement & gameplay just feels smoother then TD2. TD2 feels like my Agent a robot with how stiff they look moving lol
I'm have this game for a long time and never played it but now I finally get to try it out for the first time
I can't begin to stress how much more I'd like Division 2 if it had a winter setting.
As much as everyone loves to bag on the franchise, I think we all can agree that we have hundreds, if not thousands of hours of great times and memories with Div 1 and 2. I’ll never uninstall either one.
💯%!
Definitely in my top 5 all time favorite games. It was the first game I ever truly spent over a hundred hours playing.
There will never be a better Division than the first one. The end of Global Events (why?) means that I probably won't complete Nomad...
I wish once a month fans of this game would flood the servers and play.
Exactly. There is no other game (in its category) as good as the first Division. There is not and there will not be. Unfortunately, it looks like Ubisoft is slowly killing it. For example, there have been no Global Events for several months. Why? Is the really hopeless Div 2 their priority now?
After visiting NYC for the first time this week, it made me miss Division 1.
It's a pity that Ubisoft doesn't care about cheaters ruining DZ experience
Survival was wild and i loved it. Such a nice gamemode. I also loved the pvp mode with the big teams.
Honestly I loved this game and still do but one big thing is the servers are kinda sitting in a weird place from the lack of maintenance
I reinstalled it like a week ago and bough the Survival expansion because never played it before...i first started playing the div in 2021 so no a div 1 day one player here...and after 300+ gameplay hours jumped to div 2...now after 2000+ div 2 gameplay hours i felt strange in div 1 and try legendary missions i completed solo before and get my ass spanked....i wished i have my div 2 St. Elmos striker or my Bulwalk tank builds there😂 but i'm slowly fine tuning into div 1 again...after started Survival i knew was not going to last long but in my second run i almost make it to the dark zone (playing in PVE mode) but enemies are more thoghts the closer you get to the DZ and there was another guy downed and i reach to him to revive him but soon i found why he was on the ground😂 there was a bunch of elites enemies and in less that 30secs i was downed too...next time i have to be very cautious...also i have a question? Where do you get the components to craft the mask filter? I looted many things but cannot craft it or those components are just inside the DZ?
The filter materials needed are just your standard Fabric/Electronics etc. (I forget which specific ones it asks for). You can find them in material crates, by killing enemies, or deconstructing items. You won't be able to enter the DZ without a filter
@@RogueGold ok thanks.
Neutral lighting is absolutely critical.
#RogueGold
Survival is amazing but don't forget about the Underground, a completely different world.
I appreciate Underground a lot, and I love that so many people love it, it just was never my favorite 😄
@@RogueGold true it's not the best but I beat down hunters with my shield down there.
Fond memories from the beginning of the first month. I was just chilling with a whole lobby in dz01 or 02 while we listened to a dev explain the inner workings of early end game builds and gear optimizations. After which he took us around every landmark in the dz so we could grind out gear for around an hour. Some of my best friends were people from that group. We split off from the rest after that hour of farming and completed our first challenging mission together. crafting a extended mag for my navy mp5n which back then seriously upped the fire rate per added bullet. Literally turning that smg into a A10 warthog and scaring the crap outta anyone near enough to hear it including myself. I pooped a little when I first fired it lol
The division 1 pre-striker nerf was the most skill rewarding pvp in gaming history and it was the most fun time ever, then the devs and noobs that complained to the devs, ruined it.
My dad pre ordered a physical copy of this game's "gold edition" on the xbox one, probably, a week before it released, it showed up in the mail a few hours before it released digitally. We got right to playing it, whole family, taking turns. we were some of the earliest players of this game. Within 10 minutes the whole lobby of about 15 people were all facing off against 1 level 1000, and 1 level 1500, who were teamed and partied together, a bit of an unspoken truce between the rest of us. I doubt we even did a single bit of damage because we were all new to the game and they basically had god mode. Looking at promotional material for this game, and watching this video has "brought back" some memories of playing this game in 2016, probably to about 2018. I didn't play often but I did play it. I remember watching my older brother play survival a lot while waiting for a turn so I could play COD zombies. I looked up if this game was worth playing in 2024 because there is an 85% sale on the base game on steam, making it $4.49, I have $5 on my steam account and was looking for something I could buy just because I could. I think ill buy the base game, no dlcs, and play occasionally and during the summer sale in a few months, ill buy survival if the servers are still up and they haven't pulled the plug on it yet, like they did the crew.
Love that story! Thank you for sharing it!
2017 and this game still holds up and I keep returning to it, I’m open to a remake of the original
The division 1 is like that ex that you just can't get over
It don’t matter how long its been since it came out IT IS ALWAYS WORTH PLAYING !! Id buy it all over again for ANY price if i had to . This game is a true work of art .
Division 1 is such a compelling game. From everything occurring in NY and it's atmosphere creation. It's very much worth buying currently (now it's cheaper with a bundle with division 2, DLC, etc.) also, it's even better playing on updated gen consoles for smoother FPS (Xbox Series, PS5.) Just enjoy the story mode linking towards Division 2. 😎✨✨✨
Well said!
I reinstalled the game one week ago with some friends and it’s been a real nostalgia ride. Never thought that a game will hold up for so long and I hope we will always be able to return from time to time. I can only agree with your points and I think this might be my all time favorite as well! I’m about to buy the dlcs since I’ve never got to play them back then, I hope they never shut the servers down 🤞
Used to love the exploration. Coming across a fire escape ladder, climbing it and stumbling upon a sweet weapon, or even just ransacking an apartment for a badass scarf.
I often find it easy to forget how much fun I had on this game for the first year or two after release, at the time and since I still haven’t seen anything like this in gaming
I have over 7500 hours on this game, bloody love it. 🤘 Survival is great, I'm just crap at it
The division 1 is still hooping ! Many new players on both platforms are still coming in I love this game, best game I’ve played!!
Underground is actually my favorite dlc. I know many people did not like the grindy aspect of it but the environments down there were amazing to run through, like fighting through a massive gold vault or the end of the world rave. And when they added the threat of 4 man hunter squads to match your own in claustrophobic rooms and hallways, it was a thrilling experience for me.
Underground rocks!
The first time I jumped into The Division series especially The Division 1, the atmosphere of snow and city is amazing yet what glasp me most was the cleaners to miss them dearly even when playing The Division 2.
Dude this is like the Die Hard of video games you just want to play it every winter
I genuinely appreciate some of these tips. The neutral lighting then, I will definitely try.
However, as a newcomer, I found my experience with Survival was hampered quite a bit by the experienced players. By the time I got into any game, nearly all containers were already looted by try-hard min-maxers who already had the map memorized and the optimal route planned out. It was a little heartbreaking.
Honestly I'm more surprised that you found enough people for that to occur 😄 Were those recent occurrences, or did that happen back in the day? Typically you're lucky to find even 1-2 other people in the same lobby as you these days, in my experience.
@RogueGold This was about a month ago. I started with Div 2 last year, loved it, so I picked up Div 1 around Christmas. I still loved the experience, but Survival was underwhelming for that reason. But hey, good to know that is not the typical experience. I may give it another shot.
Just started playing it again with a new character, I love the snow and fighting in a blizzard is really entertaining.
I miss the random hunter incounters in the subway/sewers..
I remember grinding out Caduceus on the Rat King day one. I crammed that gun in any build until they removed the unique feature.
It's never too late to play TD1, worth it. Even after 8 years of its launch.
Miss this game so much no other game has been as fun to me since the dark zone
The division remastered. That way we can get what the trailers showed us. Thousands of hours in this game. Absolutely a classic
The Survivor mode is incredible. Just reached level 30 with world tier one, headed there immediately and holy shit.
Made it to an extract someone else called after stuggling through the Dark Zone but then...my SHD tech started glitching and what I experienced then was pure horror.
And now, everytime the SHD tech starts glitching im on edge. I love this game.
Yup my team and me will sometime just jump on to play survival from other games. Was so hoping d2 would get the same mode but didn’t well lets see if the 3rd one will hold up
that is one clean transition at 5:00
🙏😄 Appreciate it!
Division 1 easily one of my favourite games of all time. So many good times, grinding out full tactician and one shotting folk in the DZ with explosive sticky’s. Screaming with joy whenever I completed a named gear set. Encountering Hunters for the first time in the Underground then getting THE HOUSE FIRST TIME. God, good times, good times.
The survival dark zone feels like your playing a completely different game
I would love to play the campaign in this mode.
I used to have a game every morning before going to work then when i got home from work spent the evening in DZ for about 4-5 hrs....didnt bother playing anything else for three years
Clicked on this video as I miss the survival mode and as soon as you said "buy the dlc" I knew where you were going with this! Survival was one of my favourite game modes of any game. I always preferred the snow setting of Div1 over Div2 but Survival just takes that and actually makes the cold and the city feel dangerous! The game modes in Div2 just don't keep me interested like this did. Played on console so its hard to go back to the that these days but if I see the game on sale on pc I may pick it up again.*
*Edit: It is actually ridiculously cheap to buy the full package from Ubisoft atm! £5.89 at time of writing this.
I recently started playing it as well but unfortunately the player population is not enough to matchmake all activities.. :(
This game remains one of my absolute favorites of all time! I still will start over with a new character and play it again from time to time.
The division is the best video game environment I’ve ever seen. The division 1 survival mode is the most underrated mode in gaming.
Still one of my all time favorites and still play it to this day. One of the only games my crap attention span has been able to pay attention to and never gets old playing.
Been playing through this for the first time ever..I know super late..but in 2024 I’m loving it more than most things out right now
Underground DLC is where i spend most of my time in the Division 1 , loved it
I recently played TD1 for the first time. Finished the “story” (which is great even if it’s not really a story mode) and I completely fell in love with it. The game is a masterpiece. Accurate in every details. I personally love NYC atmosphere and the way they captured it in a pandemic reality is just beautiful. I felt a hit every time I walked outside in the open world. Missions are hard and fun. Downloaded the dlcs but still didn’t play em. Went straight to TD2 and playing on PS5 I have to admit that the gameplay here is well improved even if in TD1 is amazing already. Struggling with frame rate in the first one since PlayStation didn’t update it like the second one. NYC atmosphere was just magic tho.
I played The Division before Division 2 came out (I had to pre-order Div 2). I still play The Division and still love it.
Just not long started it! Amazing game!
i've picked up Div 1 and i have to say, for a game released in 2016 it sure is a good introduction to an online service looter-shooter on my end (i have never played looter shooters in my life)
Great game with loads of play time and raw just raw feelings in the sense that man it just hits hard for me specially after the bs years that passed. But I love the gameplay on PC there's soooooo much and wish this game was bigger love part two also but I couldn't wait to get the NY pack just to hop back there. It feels and plays differently for sure but stacking hours of play time I love the accuracy of the map it's freaking scary how great the map feels like I knew where to go as soon as I started playing.
I remember playing this game in 2016, at first I wasn't very happy with it but the more I played it the more I got addicted to the game... and when I entered the PvP zone it was a very hard relationship with the game, because one day you could loot a lot of good things and u felt like the absolute boss of the area and the next day u could loose everything a FEW times!! 😅
So, it was a love-hate relationship hahahaha
I used to hate shotguns, bastards killed me with just a few close shots. Oh, and I loved a bug that people used to explode where you could join in a big hard mission with around 100 or 150 players, so it was pure madness, funny and awesome 😂😂😂😂
I have great memories of this game! ❤
the only thing that puts me off from getting this game on PC after playing it for countless hours on the PS4 is that I'm not certain if there are a lot of people still playing. Most of the time spent in Div1 for me was playing missions with randoms
Last stand for this game still runs every night at 8:30 pm est, you're guaranteed at least 2 or 3 matches a night if you have good patience
Replayed this on PC the other day, man I loved it. I struggled with XP in my old playthrough but this time I just went around the regions doing encounters, and side quests and was always a few levels above my current regions, enemies never felt spongey at all
Glad you enjoyed!!
I love div 1 but unfortunately not enough people to play with like incursions, legendary, last stand, etc. You can only play dark zone or solo pve...
survival alone is a good reason why it's still fun to play. only thing is player population. you might be waiting for 10-20 mins for a game.
Dark zone top tier exotic bad asss always dropping game way ahead of its time and ps5 graphics are astonishing.
