Today i just put 3 tiger barbs in with 1 bumblebee African cichlid the cichlid is about 1/2 " longer than the barbs. So far they are respecting each other. I looked up bumblebee tankmates and this video came up.looks like I picked the right one.thanks for the video.
I've got 9 tiger barbs with 4 peacocks and an ornate bichir in the same tank heavily planted with Anubis and java ferns and kelp and everything is getting along just fine ,zero aggression in mine either,no plants uprooted , my barbs go all over along with my peacocks . My ornate bichir is pretty chill stays in the one corner and occasionally swims around the tank to eat
I put tiger barbs in there with my African cichlids those tiger barbs are crazy they can hold their own they actually established a territory in my tank and if the African cichlid go over there they gang up on them and run them out you can put pictus catfish in there too they can hold their own
@@ManfredEvanzPalcatHD they are fine! They seem to pick on themselves mainly, I had them with angelfish and that was a no go. They kept poking the long fins on the angels. Seem to be mostly assholes to themselves lol
I have had a number of non-Great Rift Lake cichlids with Great Rift Lake Cichlids. I had Convict cichlids, Black skirt tetras, Danios, and Tiger Barbs, plecos, Skunk loaches etc.
thoughts on Black Molly for an algae eater with Africans. Currently have one in my African grow out tank (so the mubanas are on the small size. and I think EVERY tank needs a population or two of snails
If you move the rocks, if you have several rocks, everytime you add a fish. Then no problem putting fish in. Tiger school if you have several. Crayfish depends on species the more carnivorous will catch & kill fish.
I may try this today. I have a 37 gallon with 2 smaller mbunas, and a blue gourami. It's odd that the gourami was dominant, at first, but now, both of my little mbunas chase after him, from time to time. He's bigger than both of them; I just think that he hasn't reached his limit of tolerance, yet? 🤷♂ But, I'm pretty sure that introducing maybe 4 or 5 tiger barbs might very well make the difference ... and calm the atmosphere in my tank.
So I just got 6 african cichlids and there about 3 inches each in my 33 gal long. How many tiger barbs do you think I should get to put in the tank? Remind you Im about 3 mths new to cichlids and fish tanks in general.
Had 9 tiger barbs in with 2 small African cichlids for a year, but recently I believe the cichlids killed 2 of the green tiger barbs. Do I need more cichlids or more barbs? Do green barbs not work the same like regular tiger?
I have 15 tiger barbs several phenotypes. I also have a school of 7 zebra danios. I’m thinking of introducing a blood parrot as a center piece. Thoughts? (40 gallon btw)
I know this comment is old. Did you do that? I have done that and it can be done. My dad has lots of tiger barbs + 2 angelfish + lots of tigers in a 39 bow. Me, I have a 20 regular that has 2 angels + 4 tigers + 2 black skirt tetra + 4 white skirt tetra + a red fin shark + 1 stripe catfish + 4 red fin tetras. We both use a canister filter rated at 50 gallons. I clean my tank monthly. My dad cleans his every 3 weeks.
I had a very big and mellow livingstoni cichlid alongside some peacocks, haps, and mbunas. I even keep them with juvenile one inch little yellow labs with no problem, as well as an angelfish that I had moved into his tank because it was too aggressive in his previous tank.. So I wanted to introduce some schooling fish so I tried to introduce some tiger barbs and I would say I would be more worried with the tiger barbs fin nipping my angelfish but my livingstoni went ham on the tigers and tried eating every single one but couldnt because idk if it fit in his mouth or not. He ended up spitting them half eaten instead and still tried to eat them. Any reason why he'd go for the tigers and decided not to harm juvie cichlids or the angelfish? He's a 6 inch livingstoni in a 75 gallon tank btw.
I'm actually tripping out right now because the tiger barbs took over my tank the biggest tiger barb is the tank boss those things are like piranhas they'll jump you and all my Africans are abunas
List starts at 10:21
This video is super informative. Thank you!!!!
Tiger barbs are semi-agressive and are very active. Their schooling formation is also very unique, they swim in a line based on their hierarchy.
I find it’s just based on who is chasing who.
Facts I had 150 gallon tank and I had 2 turtles, 8 tiger barbs, 2 parrots, 2 chiclids, and 4 loaches ….they are lived together peacefully
For how long are they together?

What was your most aggressive Cichlid you had?
Ahh that’s hard. I’d say the Melanochromis Auratus or the Bumble Bee.
I bought a Ahli Electric Blue and he thought he’d push my 3 Bichirs around… worked for a day until the bichirs stopped moving and stood their grounds.
they have so much personality.
Real talk i have a electric yellow cichlid that schols with my tiger barbs. He thinks hes a tiger barb too
Im doing this today😆 wish me luck. Separate tank ready just in case Haha

I keep and prefer Chinese algae eaters as tank cleaners in my African, central and South American cichlids, thank you for this video👍🏻

If you have good filtration, 10-15 tiger barbs.

I keep Tiger Barbs with various types of Cichlids and have never had any problems.
Nah, he’s right. I’ve seen at the LFS tiger Barbs kept with fire mouth cichlids.
You could put some pictures of those fishes on the side
How many bubble bee chichlids should I put in a tank with 15 tiger Barb's? 55 gallon tank
I would put at least 3-4
Sorry for the late reply. Bumble bees are really aggressive. I had 2.
@@nicosaquatics8461 Hi, do you think it is safe to keep 15 Demasonis with 25 Tiger Barbs in a 125 gal? Thanks.
Thanks for the info bro 🤘🏼
My parrot cychlids just ate one of my tiger barbs😢
Thank you for this
Tiger barbs are tough....they hold their own... you said it, most importantly they school

I've done it, there's a lot of fish that can be kept in a community tank, most of the UA-cam experts are Not Experts

Can 5 tiger barbs and 3 cichlids do the work for 50 gallon?
Tiger barbs should be atleast 6-12 in numbers
What are some tankmates compatible with jewel cichlids?
What can I put in with my 6 month old Deomonsi?
Subscribed!!!

Everywhere I looked, they say that Clown Loaches are good tank mates for African Cichlids. My Clown Loach didn't last a night.😅
