"That was fabulous, that's the best corner I've ever done in my life! And I only did 50% of it!" Enthusiastic as a 6yo boy who just had his new toy. I am going to miss you Murray
What a trio of legends, Murray Walker, Damon Hill and that incredible Honda NSX all brought together for one great drive around a great racing circuit too!😁👍
If you're the son of a motorcycling world champion, drive a tank in WW2, race bikes yourself and spend the rest of your life commentating on motorsport, then you're not going to be a slouch behind the wheel.
I watched them film this live. I stood on a corner with a union jack about half way round the track and managed to get a wave from Damon... Can't see it on the footage but I remember they did a few laps. I think it was on a Thursday if I remember rightly, could have been a Friday, obviously it was a while ago now.
@@MadKingJorge yes that does make sense. It was an epic race to watch live, best of all the races I have been to, but gutted when coulthard gave up his lead.
Murray looked like he could have a got a decent lap time. Quick, provides his own commentary and still conducted an interview on a track he had never been round!
There will never ever be another Murray Walker. The fact that a commentator was one of Motorsports biggest stars says everything. Read his autobiography, fascinating and wonderful life he led. Wasn’t all just motor racing.
This video is exactly what I needed to get me into the weekend. Hearing Damon days “Umm... brakes... a bit, I think... Murray!” was a breath of fresh air, haha!
Good ol' Murray....I (We) miss your commentary... It may not have always been very technical but that didn't matter for you had just the right kind of enthusiasum...
The thing that surprises me is that Damon isn't a better passenger than he seems to be here. My "riding" ability depends on how much confidence I have in the driver. Damon knows Murray very well, so it's puzzling.
I know what you mean but it could also be because there were lots of people on the track so he was just concerned about that. And even despite Murray's motorsport background of having competed himself on motorbikes, he was still quite old here.
Yeah I think Murray was actually a kind of father figure to Damon. Knew him as a boy and obviously saw what happened to his father which must have been traumatic for Damon. I’ve never read much about their relationship but I get the impression he always followed him closely and looked out for him as Damon was growing up.
@@Drenwickification Yes, from what I know of him, he indeed was, he talked of a “soft spot” for Damon and was probably why he had a “lump in his throat” when he won the championship in 1996. He seemed like a father figure to many of the British drivers, his interview with Jenson Button was like a father catching up to see how his son was doing!

well said
Kinda what I meant in my comment above.
He didn't just _drive_ a tank, he was the tank _commander._
I know I'm kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch new movies online ?
@Dwayne Messiah I use flixzone. Just search on google for it =)

Friday would have had practise and Hill remarks that he wasn't allowed to drive on it yet, so probably Thursday.

This is so good. Here after sadly hearing of Murrays passing. RIP.
Murray. You were the soundtrack to my youth. Thank you.
In a bright yellow NSX, no less.
The colours of Jordan 😊

“Yeah, brake Murray” 😂
Fantastic clip
Aw man this makes me smile...
Old racers never forget their lines.... RIP Murray
I'm so young to have watched Murray in his commentary days but what a legend he was. Watching this made me so happy, RIP.
What a brilliant piece. Rest easy Murray. You will be very much missed. x

I guess I'm not the only one when I say "I've been missing Murray for years..."
“Don’t hit the marshall there...”
Top tip from Damon Hill 😃👍
Love this. Cool they let him use an NSX too
Yeah Murray Walker will be sadly missed by millions of racing fans around the world
My favourite sports commentator in my favourite car. What a dream!

Legend 👍
RIP Murray Walker 1923-2021
I really miss Murray Walker brilliant man and commentator

That NSX looks gorgeous in yellow
Wow he was an incredibly competent driver
You can see why Damon is such a great commentator today
Very smooth and his driving wasn't bad either
His eminence, Muddly Talker showing DH the way its done! 😎😎😎
:-) Love these
Hill was making sure Murray didn't crash
NSX Jordan 😍
I’ve got this recorded from ITV on VHS 😂
Haha nice. I wish there was more of old f1 to watch online, love seeing the old clips of coverage
@@Drenwickification I’ve got the 1998 Belgium race with the big crash but that’s already on here. Il dig some out.
98 spoilt Murray, driving an NSX a ride in a 2 seater mclaren and a win for Damon
Murray, as usual, sounds like his pants are on fire. 😂 We miss you, Murray! ❤
How I feel when other people are driving 😲
Going a little too fast there Murray! Lol
I bet all the Keiths, Daves and Grahams loved watching this back in the day.

When you're F1 world champion you're entitled to be less than confident in any other driver.
Murray Walker you bloody legend don't worry about the Marshals they will get out of the way lol
Like a father and son 😂
