- Having agreed to officially open the new Thruxton Centre, alongside Nigel Mansell, as part of our 50th Anniversary Celebration (2/3 June 2018) Murray sat down with Tiff and talked about his memories of Thruxton, famous drivers, BTCC and F1.
It was a huge privilege to be able to hear Murray recall stories from years gone by, we could listen to him all day! We look forward to welcoming Murray back to Thruxton in June.

So sad to hear that we have lost Murray, a wonderful man and brilliant broadcaster, he must have added 50% to the viewing figures for F1 and made it seem exciting, amazing and unmissable. RIP Murray, we miss you already.😔
He really was the voice of Formula 1. The best. They ll never be another quite like him.
Rest In Peace
94 years! Living legend
95 in 2 days.
Rip
Dead legend🙁🙁
Unbelievable how sharp he was at 94 years old. What a memory !
It saddens me to say that Murray walker is no longer with us he’s died
He most definitely was not past it. Such a lovely man, Murray you will never be forgotten. God rest your soul.
Both of these chaps have been part of my petrolheadness and my addiction. RIP Murray, what a lift!
Rip murray walker. I think the guy remembered every single race he ever commentated on.
What a sweet man. One of my many regrets in life is that I never got to give him a hug.
Love you, Murray. :-)
A legend and an utter gentleman. We miss you Murray.
RIP Murray Walker, love from Hong Kong
We should clone Murray and grow a few hundred of him and make it a requirement that all motorsport events worldwide are commented on by a Murray Walker.
Agreed, even more relevant now. RIP Murray, we will all miss you immensely.
And the commentator in front is unique except for his co-commentator which is identical

Could listen to murray talk about his career and who he's met over the years for hours
Same here too! That would be the dream to happen! :D :D :D
Dream no longer possible, RIP to the legend :(
I’m very sorry to hear that Murray Walker is no longer with us he’s died aged 97 this year
Thank you UA-cam for letting me see this legend in my recommendations in this sad time ❤️
Senna, Peterson, Lauda and the others now can get proper commenting on their heavenly races!
One and only! If you name a legend, here you are looking at the peak of them. Voice of racing, magic times. Peace for you gentleman Murray Walker, peace..
This man is measured in greatness! 😃
You could make a more interesting story about the day he brushed his teeth than you could about the average man.
RIP Murray, nice guy and proper fan of all kinds of motor racing! RIP the legend.
R.I.P.
I reckon he could've still given a cracking commentary at that age. Sharp as a tack, clear voice, perfect recollection. He must've been the #1 British motorsport fan of all time, let alone the greatest commentator.
He’s the GOAT I miss him
What a wonderful man Murray was.
He was still as sharp as ever.
A great life , thank you Murray.
That’s the voice that got me hooked to motorsport almost 40 years ago! Shine on you crazy diamond 🎤
What an amazing man 🏁
What a lovely conversation fantastic company between two gentlemen
Thanks for the memories Murray.RIP.
Absolute legend R.I.P Murray
Two Legends together. The word is used too freely today but not in this case. Tiff is the most underrated driver and versatile motorsport professional this country has ever had and someone I had the privilege of working for many years ago and Murray Walker, a gentleman, an enthusiast and an ambassador for the sport that will never be seen again. Legends
R.I.P Mr. Walker it's been a blast.
RIP Murray
RIP MURRAY
It's weird how Murray Walker suffered from obvious memory loss after ending his comentating career, but now that he's 94 he's sharp as a needle.
He looks well for 94.
Ikr, most 94 year old are rotting corpses.
Still sharp as well. He will always be the voice of F1.
Thanks for your service Murray, always enjoyed it.
Great interview! Rip Murray
Murray walker....you will be sorely missed but you will never be forgotten...R.I.P.
thank you. legends
Rest in peace, mr Murray... your voice and spirit will live on in our hearts.
Two Legends!!...RIP Murray, we will miss you
Great stuff! Back in 1993 Damon Hill was indeed driving the FW15C, it was an active-suspension car, and also I can clearly recall hearing the sound of its traction control (until he turned it off to do some spin-turns at Campbell/Cobb/Seagrave and at the chicane on his last lap).
RIP Thanks for the great memories mate!
A lovely man. Irreplaceable!
So glad there’s content like this for us to enjoy for years to come. A truly missed gent
It definitely seems he still has all his marbles!!
oh yes I'm 53 can't remember wat I did yesterday!!
Fantastic. Loved that. Murray and Tiff real charismatic personalities 👌
Murray Walker a true legend, should off been Sir Murray. RIP Murray ❤ your legacy will live for ever.
At least he’s still got a clear memory
Happy 95th Birthday Murray!
RIP Murray. We’ll never forget you! ❤️
Condolencies to the Walker family for having lost such a big part of your life and family. The petrolhead community feels your loss as we know we have lost a broadcasting legend who cannot be replaced nor should he be. Having grown up with Murray commentating I know formula one wouldnt have been the same without him, and as good as todays presenters are, each in they're own way, none have the same passion which Murray couldnt help share with the listener. Thats what any petrolhead loved about Murray, RIP Sir.
Brilliant interview. I could listen to them all day.
Murray is 97 years old and still going
Indeed, his mind and speech are still sharp as a knife.
😢
@@mikey380sx I knew that day will eventually come given his age but it still hurts

Murray Walker is a LEGEND
The algorithms were perfect this time, great watch. RIP Murray.
even in his 90's he had an almost child like fascination for the sport
For someone who's 94, he definitely still seems like he's on the ball - what a fantastic career he's had. Truly one-of-a-kind :)
Rip Murray.
I always think the map of the Thruxton looks like the map of Australia
Murray was just brilliant, with a unique blend of knowledge and enthusiasm. A sad loss to motorsport
He's immortal... and he will still the same
Murray has hardly aged in the past 30 years! What a man.
Does Tiff ever age ...
Name one single more iconic sport voice! Stop it! Stop thinking because you're just wrong and you're wasting your own time.
RIP Murray
So Sad to hear of Murray's passing. RIP
RIP Murray
