I've listened to JP since I was 8, and been to 2 concerts. To me Hell Bent for Leather is not my preferred album, "I'm a Stained Class Man". Hell Bent for Leather is a great tune and way better than Delivering the Goods. I like their cover of Green Manalishi over Fleetwood Mac. When it comes to album covers my favorite was the Viking on Hero Hero. As for Point of Entry, I only liked 4 songs on that album and You Say Yes isn't one of them. In an interview Glen Tipton admitted that Point of Entry was not some of their best work which was why it has never done well. However this album does contain some of my all time favorite songs: Heading out to the highway, solar Angels and Desert Plains forgot the 4th one. Underrated or forgotten Tunes mentioned below Reckless from Turbo and Take on The world I always thought this was a very unique sounding song. To introduce new listeners to Priest I would start with the Fire Power album and work my way down. I might include some of the Tim Owens stuff, like Death Row.
If I listen to ''rocka rolla'' it stays in my head for days it's got some kind of hook on me, I always think F&*k this song is cheesy but then I play it again straight away. Glad point of entry was mentioned it's just smooth easy listening metal. I get painkiller I love it but the constant devil and hell stuff is pretty cheap, the music is awesome just lyrics are too much.
Great recommendation! Thanks for sharing.
"The hooks to my brain are well in"
Most underrated in my opinion is Reckless off of Turbo. Almost too heavy for that album but has such a great feel to it.
I agree a very underrated kickass song.
Starbreaker is the song a rookie should listen too. Or Beyond the Realms of Death
I roared with delight when Martin named 'Point of Entry'. I've silently enjoyed it for yrs (and heard tons of crap talked about it)..
I liked Judas Priest more when I had a car with a good stereo. Good rock for borderline speeding.
I love Stained Class. The whole album is great.
My favorite JP album of all time.
