Hey Gabriel, you are almost Greek. You can read the alphabet. You seem to have walked into a spider convention. Thanks for all your work that you do for us. Take care my friend.
The Greek territory includes 6,000 islands and islets. They are scattered in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea. Of these only 227 are inhabited, you still have to go to 187.....be patient
Knowning Gabe’s love for Greece it’s probably a mission of his to visit every Greek island. I’m sure he’d also like to explore more of the mainland too. He mentioned the Peloponnese coastline a few days ago.
I would not use the word ''only'' for some 227 different towns basically scattered here and there in the sea means a life time for most people to explore! Greece although a mid sized European country feels much much larger and takes time and effort to travel to hundreds of places around.
Thankyou Gabe for this lovely vlog, I've got some catching up to do, only been to five. I plan to visit Corfu. Enjoy your travels, really enjoy watching your Greek travels, my wife gets the popcorn out and we watch.
Santorini in 2021 got me hooked, can't wait to get back and check out some other islands. Greece has the best overall package of any destination IMO - weather, culture & lifestyle, food, prices, etc. Can't beat it.
@@robcanad good point, it’s close! I think I would still go Greece because the weather is a bit more tolerable in the summer (less unbearably humid) and easier/quicker to visit from the US. Both are hard to beat though.
Learning Greek! 😊 For all nouns that in -s: the -s is dropped if it's not the main subject of a sentence. This involves all masculine nouns, and some irregular feminine nouns (feminine nous normally end in in -a or -ē/i, but all those islands that and in -s are actually feminine nouns). So, "Paros is a nice island" but "We're going to Paro for the summer" or "This way towards Paro". The linguistic concept is called noun cases or grammatical cases, which also exists in German, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, and a few other languages. English has a tiny bit of it too. When you add 's to a noun to make it possessive, you're changing the spelling/pronunciation of the noun, and that's called the genitive case. Also, in pronouns:"We went to the store" but "the ice cream is for us". "We" changes to "us".
Such a great list! To add to those numbers, Lemnos - Lesvos - Chios would be a great route! I've only seen 6 islands so far, but hoping to see lots more this year as I'll have at least a month in Greece, after France & Italy.

Hi Gabriel, the next time in Mykanos you might want to catch a ferry to Delos, a very historically significant city of the ancient world. One year ago my wife and I were in Hydra for four days and Spetses for just a day trip. In Hydra I hiked up to the Monastery of Prophet Elias, which was quite difficult, almost the highest spot on the island. The monastery and grounds were so beautiful and so worth the effort to get there. Also some monks there who scurry away from view when they think you see them. Gabriel I recommend Samothraki...you will be amazed by the wild beauty of this island. Do not miss the rivers and do treck them up to the last waterfall...You have to fly to Alexandroupoli, then get to the port by bus and catch a ferry for the island. (you have to get down in town and walk a bit, bus doesn't drop you right at the port I think)
great experience
You don’t know what you are missing if you don’t visit Tinos island
I"m sure it's on his list now! haha
Lucky Gabriel.

Nice video 🔥
which island is the best choice for a short beach vacation? thanks for any adivce :)
There aren't any bad choices, that's for sure.
Koufonisia, Naxos,paros
Probably the ones closer to Athens if that’s your starting point.
I remember a while back you mentioning one of the good things about Greece is the lack of dangerous wildlife etc on the island. Looks like the spiders are in abundance however :)
Gabriel do you have an international license for driving, If so has every country you have rented a car in asked for the license?
Yes I have one, but they almost never require it.
wow... @ 31:31 // Its INDIA ( The most you have visited !!!)
Gabriel, That Bike sounds bloody awful. Was wishing to hear your 'Island' Log but that Bike had me near mute you.
Glad it was only a Rental.

Oh man, Greece should give you citizenship 🇬🇷😄 I’ve only done ten. Forty is seriously impressive 🙌🏻

@@somejohndoe3004 Yep!! Pretty sad!!
In the end it is easier to count the islands you not visited yet 😁
A difficult question: if you had to choose, which would be your favourite Greek Island? Greets from Belgium.
