What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. The last woman is my hero. To be afraid of confrontation and of getting into a fight where you could get your ass beat is such a normal feeling. She pushed through that fear and persisted against injustice despite being afraid. I only wish I can overcome my fears for the sake of someone else when the time comes.

I love this show because confrontation is something a lot of people avoid at all costs, but it clearly pays off if you can help someone around you. Your gut is generally right and you have to do/say something.

We really should put textures on our dollars, or something to separate them. My mom is quickly approaching full blindness (is currently training a guide dog with the bit of sight she has left and a trainer's help) and it's so upsetting to see her struggle. The other day her dog wasn't able to work (his new food made him sick) and I guided her over the phone (she lives across the country from me) and I noticed a big decline in her sight from the last time I got to guide her (she's had the dog for 6ish months)
She was nearly panicking it was so stressful. I wish I was there in person to help, and to thank the wonderful cashier who clearly explained what she was buying and how many of each item, and made sure her bags weren't too heavy for her to carry home.
Anyway, that was my little sob story/vent/rant.

idea: have her fold her money differently depending on the bill. for 100s keep them straight, 50's fold once in half edgewise, 20s fold lengthwise, 10s fold twice, 5's fold like 10's but fold the top over (just a little bit) lengthwise first in order to make it slightly shorter/smaller, and roll up 1's

The last woman clearly had a problem with confrontation, but pushed pass that and still said something. That’s the biggest triumph to me.
