I started as Medical biller and went to school an obtained an Associates degree in medical billing and coding BIG mistake!! i wish someone would have told me about AAPC training! 10yrs later and i'm still paying my student loan :( Please check out AAPC first! I got my CPC on 2015 and now im going for my CCC credential :) best wishes! 💕
This clip was super helpful in understanding the MDM criteria in general. Would love more in-depth information on the Risk of Complications and/or Morbidity or Mortality of Patient Management Category selection criteria.
I have a question. I had a Pre-Op appointment with my OBGYN for a Uterine ablation Procedure that will be done at the Hospital with Anesthesia. I waited 18 minutes in the waiting room and another 17 minutes in her office before she came in to see me. I only had 10 minutes max with her. They charged it as a Lvl-5. No tests were performed on me that day nore any xrays. Just discussing the up coming procedure and prescribed me two different pills. Is that a lvl-5?
Hi Victoria, I'm new here! I've been watching your videos as I've been working on my medical coding course and you are so helpful! Thank you so much for making these videos. I have a question and I'm sorry if you've already answered it, however, I was wondering about working remotely as a starting out coder? Is that possible or do you have to work a certain amount of time before you're allowed to work remotely? I was wondering especially since COVID started!
This was very informative and I love it! Thanks 😊 Question… off the top of your head, can you think of a reason why Medicaid would deny 99215-GT telehealth, think the POS is the office/outpatient??? I been researching but I’m missing something
@@CWdudeyo I think it’s the gastro clinic and/or the medical genetic clinic. But if coding time they can make that level 5. The problem is what r they denying
@@CWdudeyo hello…. I think the POS was 02, I researched that. All the dx codes don’t excludes1 each other. I just don’t know what it can be that I’m missing.
I had a new patient Hematology appointment where it was coded level 5 for a benign blood condition. I don't feel the code was warranted. On top of that I was billed level 4 by the affiliated hospital that was disallowed and determined to be a facility fee. This all seems so excessive.
Would the info of the monoclonal antibody treatment be considered as a drug therapy requiring intensive monitoring for toxicity? It is being administered in immediate care centers and the patients are watched closely for reactions
Do you have any guidance for when the patient has seen the provider when the provider worked for a different group, and is now seeing the same provider at a new group? Would that be billed as a new or established patient?
Hello, I still get a little confused if an US or NST is a Category 1 or 2. I work in coding OP OB triage visits and those are order often in there visit and interpreted by the same provider.
Question where would a certified medical coder and biller make the most money at? How does one become a medical auditor do u need certs or license for that or do u need more schooling ?
in our country the Philippines i have a certification of being An ICD-10Coder, I know this job is far different from the one you’re doing but somehow it is related to how the diseases are translated into AlphaNumeric Codes, what’s next for me then as I would love to do medical coding and work in the comfort of my home! please do help me madam! Thank you in advance!
Some of the base job elements might overlap, but MAs are much more patient-facing than medical coders. Medical coding is also a much more advanced and higher paying role.

My guess is, if the level is that high, the patient wouldn’t be calling, they would be in the ER 🤷🏻♀️
