I'm just getting to grips with my scratching. 3 years in. Defo need a mega passion for it. I jumped a lot of basics like the stab scratch. I have a messed up practice routine lol. I got to start focusing on my weak points now. Anyone just starting scratching do not jump the basics. I'm learning the hard way. The great thing about scratching is the that no scratch dj are the same. It really is an art that is just not recognised as much as all the other musical arts.
@@barrywatts8501 Best thing is, you got everything you need to get better for free in countless yt tutorials...you dont wanna know what a pain in the ass it was learning it during the 90s... And practice everything twice on your weak side...to many djs only can do their thing on one side nowadays...which is limiting you of expressing yourself as a turntableist in so manysa ways.
@@Presbiter must of been hard as hell to work out all the different ways to skratch . I guess it was a must to bounce off of other djs. I'm finding hard with all the UA-cam video. And I'm only right side. Tried juggling a bit but only very very simple stuff. Really makes one appreciate HOW much practice it takes! A life time.
Hi man, I've been skratching for 15 years, I learned with videos vhs and dvd ^^ And now I learn a lot with youtube and especially by listening to others. Work and patience always pay;)
@@MrSkullP agreed .I have been scratching for 21 years with a 2 year break in between at some point... Work hard and don't let frustration get to you...walk away and come back with a clear head...
