This has to be one of the most under rated songs ever written. Perfectly encapulates modern day life, the thoughts of feeling trapped, unable to break down barriers and unable to fulfill your own potential due to constraints of society. Its perfect

Reading the comments, it is very clear to me that people are too hung up on finding a black and white answer as to what the video is trying to depict. This is a work of art. Art is meant to make people think. That's what the song is about. Not conforming and thinking for yourself; "mass confusion, spoon-fed to the blind". Open your eyes.
This video can mean whatever it means to you. It's powerful. It's revolutionary. And it's not something which can be defined. Perception is the thing.

    • @moritzwehr1600
      @moritzwehr1600 9 років тому +15

yep thats why the video is so good. no black and white here like in the media, real stuff, real life. real struggle.

Emma Walsh Totally agree. But I also think it is a good thing that people are engaged in that way too. Is it real? Is it set up? Is it a mixture? Are they acting? Are they re-enacting real things? Where is it? The fact that we don't know is one of the alluring aspects of the film. IMO any engagement is good. People shouldn't not engage in that way if that's how it grabs and compels them.

@@michaelswords4416 I would hope it would. The cries of the working class struggling for hope while the capitalist exploit them on a daily basis and turn them against one another, like a cock fight, would become a thing of the past. I would hope we have actualized the words Charlie Chaplin spoke almost 80-years ago. I would hope that we have created a world that relegates such experiences to history books

It’s China taking over the world. See the Asian men buying white sex slaves? China was using 5G tech that they would use as a weapon, as seen in the video. Look up how many ports China now owns. They are trying to control the entire supply chain and then abandon us. China and greater Israel are going to be the biggest hubs. Look at where rich/elite are buying land in Africa. Also, I truly believe they’re reptilian. There are many victims that were involved in mind kontrol, used as sexual slaves for the elite and deliver messages secretively to heads of state. Multiple have spoken of reptilian people that they assumed were holograms but looked very real. Also why they put the lizard in the video, this is very real.

I can see a whole lot of people naging about the video being too complicated or just confusing and unclear. Okay, this is how I saw the video. It was obviously shot in Eastern Europe, probably an ex-Soviet state. There are military motives which would be associated with the Ukrainian crisis but there arent many scenes of war violence so it doesnt appear to be directed that way politically. The video is mainly focused on the people and their experience of everything. Lots of pain, lots of people suffering - dying even if they dont need to. Lots of things around the people are unclear and very painful. Everything makes them go crazy and try to feel better with drugs and just be further away from reality. But this clip can be applied to the whole world. Lots of injustice, lots of deception. People suffering and dying for no reason. Nothing makes sense anymore even though they try to make us feel as if everythings normal and its how it should be. We ourselves try to make us feel normal. Everybody just keeps running from the issues with excuses like "enjoying life" and "being positive" instead of opening our eyes and realizing everything is going to shit. The growing nonsense also makes lots of people get diagnosed with schizophrenia even though they just fell into the huge gap of disharmony between the left-brained and the right-brained reality which is being dug out by the left-brained human-enslaving world machine. Eventually.. even they resort to drugs or suicide. Like a vicious circle. And yet here we are, complaining how negative and confusing is a short film we just watched on a screen because we dont want to open our eyes and see it happen in real life.

    • @dovlication
      @dovlication 10 років тому +15

***** I see what you mean and agree with most of it. But in my opinion being positive doesnt include ignoring the exact problems which should awaken our real human emotions. those are clear signs which we shouldnt ignore as they are crucial to self-realization and self-empowerment which is one of the first phases to engaging a collective, community or even society. unless we realize how bad "shit" is we wont be able to solve it. yes, solve it with love and empathy, but to solve it, we need to know what it is and why. and especially why we cant solve it with violence. I just aknowledged the fact some people hide behind selfish "happiness" through ignorance. without the evil we wouldnt know what good is. since the evil is probably the absence of good - yes, we should fight it with good - love, empathy, open communication. and I think thats where we agree

Deej motor city person, perhaps the video is meant to be interpretable. Before I saw this video I thought it was about Scotland's independence but after seeing this and talking to a few people, it's message is what was said earlier. 'Overcome the unnatural men who have brought injustice through hate and fear. We as human beings must overcome their methods with love and understand the injustice not with violence but with intelligence along with kindness and gentleness otherwise we might come off as brutal and violent. 'From which we'll rise' well that's hope and assurance that everything will be ok, we the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Unite!

The video is a perfect illustration of the song's intention. I hope this is a work that lasts the test of time. It's a must-listen on my top five list for all my vocal students.

The iron sky... News reports, media, corruption, constantly being drilled into the human mind to a point that it slowly begins to become it, You have to hold on, believe in what YOU believe in, discover the world and whats real for YOURSELF and create your own opinion, from which you will rise over love and over hate, to then find yourself in freedom, incredible song

5:50 "To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair.
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed -
The bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power
They took from the people will return to the people.
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish...
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men
Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines! You are not cattle!
    You are men!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful
To make this life a wonderful adventure
Let us use that power - let us all unite."

From The Guardian, for those who still wonder what this is about: "Wolfe explains his work, which depicts a dystopian future. 'I was sent the track with no explanation from Paolo. As a child I stared at the planet Jupiter and had a vivid hallucinatory experience. A feeling of abject terror. In bondage to an omnipotent machine. When I heard the Chaplin quote I remembered this clearly. So the video became a dystopian vision of the future as imagined by a child in the 80s.'"

    Can give you the power
    To rise over love
    And over hate
    Through this iron sky
    That’s fast becoming our minds
    Over fear and into freedom
    Oh, that’s life
    Left dripping down the walls
Of a dream that cannot breathe
    In this harsh reality
Mass confusion spoon fed to the blind
Serves now to define our cold society
From which we’ll rise over love
    Over hate
    From this iron sky
    That’s fast becoming our minds
    Over fear and into freedom
You just got to hold on!
You just got to hold on!
    Oh oh oh oh
(To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed
The bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die
And the power they took from the people will return to the people
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men
Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines, you are not cattle, you are men!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful
To make this life a wonderful adventure
    Let us use that power!
    Let us all unite!)
    And we’ll rise over love
    And over hate
    Through this iron sky
    That’s fast becoming our minds
    Over fear
    And into freedom
    Into freedom!
From which we’ll rise over love
    And over hate
    Through this iron sky
    That’s fast becoming our minds
    Over fear and into freedom
    Freedom!
Oh, from which we’ll rise over love
    And over hate
    Through this iron sky
    That’s fast becoming our minds
    Over fear and into freedom
    Freedom!
    Freedom!
    Rain on me!
    Rain on me!

The message this song brings forward is very strong. So extremely strong that the majority will not understand it. They will not understand it because their energy is being drained constantly. There is no balance. Only a very low vibration, far from high enough to make the consciousness ascend to a place nessecary to understand the message. Therefor it is a vicious cycle of unhealthy patterns being formed all of the time which result in frustration, sadness, anger, hate and depression. Even if you don't notice it yourself. Let the light guide you and shine bright. We are energy.

Amazing video, Paolo!

For me: Pain, and the connections we have through Pain, the connections we have with eachother when we overcome pain too. Whether that Pain is through religion, substance abuse, self-inflicted etc.

And when cravings are gone, you are so happy that you just want to cry from happiness. Cravings are very dangerous. People who were never addicted to heavy substances like ethanol, opiates or benzodiazepines, will never be able to understand it. They may try to understand it, they may help, they may be empathetic, but they will never understand that. But the worst thing about heavy addictions is the overwhelming feeling of guilt, because you know that your addiction, negatively affected y
our family. They sometimes blame themselves for my addiction problem, and I blame myself for their suffering.

Свобода не погибнет, пока существует человечество.
Не подчиняйтесь этим мракобесам с механическими мозгами и сердцами!

      Listen to the lyrics.
Drugs are just another distraction from a reality that is overwhelming, and a society that is completely insane. Insane? We have war, poverty, pollution, corruption, violence.
Those who are rich feed their minds with media, or dont, and enjoy a life as a slave to consumption, with absolutely no understanding or compassion for life itself.
Drugs are a perfect solution when the rest of the world does not give a fuck about you. If you want to prove me wrong, go and help those who need you.

I've been thinking of this video and realized its essence. It depicts the desperation and effects of despair

What's just as incredible as the song, is the audience it's attracted. Everyone here who's had their own Iron Sky to have to get through, people from all over the world who feel how powerful this song is. Thinking that will move me even more when I listen to it again. and again. and again. Paolo, you truly are what an artist should be. Expressing your art with spirit and soul, thank you for sharing yourself with us.
