@@peterfernandes8472 Then it is even more important to return to or remain in India rather than escaping. Imagine what would have happened if founding fathers of modern India like Gandhi, Ambedkar never returned to their country after completing their studies abroad and settled there dreaming of a "secure" life. It is the duty of the educated Indians to stay in and build this nation first, whoever moves out with the mentality of escaping are no less than the selfish politicians. Besides that, no political party or neta is permanent, parties come and go likewise netas retire and die too. India will not remain the same forever. And moreover the so called "developed" countries are not problem free at all. Infact new social tensions and issues are emerging in the West due to rising number of outsiders from non European countries, you already know whats happening right at this moment in france, switzerland etc,

I strongly disagree with the notion that some individuals conveyed to me, suggesting that I'm forgoing a significant chance for a better life - a truly prosperous life. What exactly defines such a life? In my view, it's the sense of pride in one's origins and a peaceful state of mind. Listening to your story brings tears to my eyes.. because at a time when most people who can afford it are migrating to western countries.. you literally did the opposite purely out of your love for Indian culture and your passion for cricket and more importantly, built a good life with the opportunities here.. Lots of hipocrites like me will sing songs like "Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan hamara" but look for better opportunities elsewhere at the drop of a hat.. but you're a true inspiration and also a slap to my face.. as an Indian. Very nicely explained, Jamie! I remember meeting your Dad & Mr.Naseeruddin Shah at Prithvi theater in Bombay in 1979 when I went to watch an English play called “Zoo Story” in which only the 2 of them acted and there are no other characters in that play! Very gripping psycho story with lengthy dialogues in it and they both acted so incredibly well! Both were so humble & simple that they were standing by the ticket desk meeting, greeting & thanking every person who bought a ticket to watch the show! I can see that same sort of simplicity & humbleness in your videos now! Interesting, you mentioned you were in Boston. I was born & raised in Madras but have been living in Boston for 30+ years now! I am glad you’re living your dream in India very successfully! Wish you the very best! God bless.

I am 68. I left india at 22 after IIT, spent 26 yrs usa, always longing to return, then 20yrs india again till now. My experience is, given my temperament, India of late is too much worse than the India I grew up in, particularly the people, mind boggling downhill which i had not anticipated, now sick and tired of india and planning to settle back in usa. Such is life.

Most often I found him watching cricket and hockey matches on TV, especially whenever India was playing rival teams. It’s nice you inherited the same fondness for the game of cricket. Best wishes to you in your creative endeavours. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🙏
