Aaron, love your pragmatic approach to buying. Especially love the "respect" approach for overpriced bikes. So many feel its their duty to "correct" someone's pricing. I have always steered clear of any mods ( not even interested in pipes ). Great tips on the quality of pictures, and the registration fees. Thanks!
Go for used bikes that look the most stock when searching for one. Then you rebuild/restore/upgrade with some aftermarket parts. After that when you want to sell it, everyone sees it and says "NO GOOO!". 😂😂 Good tips though, thanks for sharing!
FhargaZ it’s just a buddy with a garage like mine. Always has different projects filling through the doors. Sometime when in a time crunch for these projects I don’t have the opportunity to hunt for a week or two for the right bike to purchase. Working 24/48 hrs to make the deadline sometime diverting from the plan when I can’t find a good donor is needed.
this is awesome! I am having such a hard time finding decent used dirt bikes. Gonna go old school and just ask everyone I know if they know anybody looking to get rid of a bike.
Hey man thanks for all the amazing tips they are gonna help me a ton! I have a 2006 klx125 and I cannot find a rear fender anywhere. Do you know where I might get one?
Adam Bower it for sure does. I learned that when moving from Minnesota (no off-rod paperwork needed) to California where the titling process is closer to street bikes. I think 8 states fully title off-road bikes.
Love Your Channel😀!!What's the specs on your cr125r Carb.? What jetting are you running? I recently bought a 2002 cr135 and getting ready to build!! Thanks for your. Awesome content!👌🏽💯
Hey Aaron, your bike builds are killer! Loved the CR and YZ builds. So I’m fifteen years old and I currently have a ‘05 Honda Crf 100f but looking for a new bike. So do you think a yz 125 would be a good second bike for me because I don’t have a lot of experience but want to get a bigger bike than a 100.
Jake Debnam_24 a 100 four stroke has no power what so ever, I wouldn’t go to a 125 if I were you as you won’t be ready for the power (you can always get one later) get a 85 now, and if it’s too small then get a big wheel 85. Stick to Honda’s. CR85RB for the big wheel
Aaron Colton Got it, thank you! Yeah that makes sense. Well I live in Soldotna, AK so there aren’t a lot of good bikes for sale usually but I always check for the deals to jump on, ya know. Anyway, I gotcha on that. I’ll keep that in mind. Yeah, you’re right. The 100 doesn’t have much to it because I’m 5’11” so standing up even the seat is still below me. I’ll let you know what I find! Thanks! 🤘✌️
I have a 88 Yamaha DT 50 i need help changing it from 6v to 12v any easy way to do that ? Id also like to update the bike for safety and comfort , if there is any way you can help im all ears 👂 👂
Another thing that i will run from is sombody advertising ktms as if has all this aftermarket parts on it but he is going through listing stock parts as aftermarket brembo brakes exel rims wp suspension they will acually try and drive the price up saying there aftermarket i have seen this alot
Honda, 12, we were looking to find an empty place where he could ride and have a go at it as he can handle sur-on mx’s on sport mode fine, he is over 5 foot 5
lordnightmare78 _ I think the 250l might be a little too tall for him, power isn’t a issue as that motor doesn’t have too much power and is very forgiving towards riders.
I want to re-bore my moped its 109cc rn and the strock is 63.1 and the stock bore is 47mm what if i bore it to 55mm its going up to 149.41cc is it compatible with this crank can u plzzz reply am new at garage work's
Yeah, I mean, if you're looking for a 'used almost never ridden bike' you can try and avoid the bikes with big tanks and Barkbusters, sure. But if you're looking for value especially at a lower price point, some of this advice goes right out of the window.
i put metal mulisha graphics on 2 of my bike builds and they are garage queens i hardly ride them and my buddy has a 2018 rmz450 with number 69 he rides a few times a summer since new and changes oil and filter everytime so that kinda doesnt always apply either. i just like metal mulisha graphics and he likes ronnie mac my bikes are some of the cleanest at the track when i go
I stay away from bikes with paddle tires too. Guys take them out to the sand and just abuse and rev the crap, overheat them and get sand in all the bearings.
i know im late to the video, but im hoping you could help me out. i want to swap out the forks on my bike, it currently has traditional shocks but i want to install inverted forks. is there a way with using the new forks triple clamps and the old forks bolt stem that i could get this to work? im not going to be using forks designed for this specific bike, i might use from a different brand or bike. could you possibly do a video where you try this or explain how it could be possible?
What are you talking about saying a 04’ is a bad year. The motors were the same 02-04 with minor updates. 05-07 was different. The 04’ was the first year to get tps on the mikuni tmx38. The 04’ overall is closer to the 05-07’s than to the 02-03. I have a completely custom built 04’ CR250R as well as all my other vmx two strokes. 04’ is a great year, you obviously don’t know much about 3rd gen Cr’s...
Honda - I am glad to see you are the authority on the 04 CR250. At the point of this video I was still in the research stage of buying my next project. I had an 04 CR250 two years ago and had consistent jetting and low end power delivery issues until I swapped to a Keihin but in the end still ended up selling it to upgrade to an 06 YZ250 at the time. After speaking to multiple engine builders in the Southern California area about the possibility of picking up an 04 they informed me that the case porting was different from the 02-03 and 05-07 with a unique design that was found to produce less low end torque and that the factory Honda teams where not using 04 Cases in 04 MX/SX season but the 02/03 cases after back to back testing. That being said they suggested that the cases be stuffed and ported if I wanted to heal the 04 to have comparable low end power delivery to 02-03 but still shy of the 05-07 design. That being said the TMX carburetor, case design, and cylinder exhaust port (part #s confirm this) all where unique to the 04CR250. Although unplugging the TPS sensor and jetting accordingly or swapping with an upgraded carburetor would fix most of the issues that is the information that my research provided me. Happy Trails - AC

Surf Rinse Repeat Thank you! Expanding the shop one project at a time!
So buying one of Aaron's bikes with all the aftermarket parts would be a no-go?
Love the number warnings...
Spot on.
To be fair though if you're getting a bike just to putt around and not competing why not get 69 or 420 lol.
Why? For non north American. What those number means and they owners?
@@RBAERO just general immaturity. 420 is associated with marijuana and 69 is a sex position.

I realize it's kind of off topic but do anybody know a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Brett Aryan I would suggest FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
@Jadiel Ethan Yea, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since april myself =)
Two strokes all day, love you Colton!

Ultimate 2 Stroke take a snow mobile 2 Stroke 750cc+ and turn it into an awesome SuperMoto or MX build with it?
My new number on my 21 fe501s is 69 lol but I am ocd on maintenance and records.
There are exceptions here and there!
Aaron would you recommend buying a smaller new bike or a refurbished bigger older bike?
Registration current definitely matters more in some states than in others.

Where can I get one of those hats? I really want one! Amazing hat

These specifically are athlete only but the Red Bull records hats on Redbullshop.us are on the same level!

$1800 on a 02 CR 250, doesn’t seem to bad. Everyone in Vegas wants over $3K.
