I still have the 1971 CT70 my dad bought me as my first bike. I will never forget doing my first oil change on it at 9 thinking I was some genius and the many burns I attained by the exhaust. I need to go over and refresh it like it deserves after my many years of mud bogging and ratting the thing out. Not to mention it still starts on the first kick.
I have my 72 same my father for my birthday Mine still runs abuts it’s worn out Somehow managed to not destroy it but doing a resto now also maybe 12-15 years ago a customer gave me his I believe 1969 or 70 that needs a lot but looking forward to getting them done
Lucky kid to have a mum that will let her responsibly enjoy a great and wholesome sport Aaron made this look super easy, would make a great starter project if you want to go on to some bigger bike projects at some point
The Trail 70 was the first two-wheeler I rode with a clutch. The late 60's and early 70's was an awesome time to grow up. Everyone in the neighborhood had mini-bikes.
This is cool, big fun. And same here for me, a 50cc Honda Dax was my first motorcycle in '75 when I was an American teen in Frankfurt, West Germany. And local laws were a bit relaxed for us 'military dependents' as I recall that we could ride a 50cc motorcycle at the age of 15 and then something more powerful at age 17--so I had the Honda for the street and the woods and then an italian-made Harley 175 once I turned 17. And my favorite trip on the Honda was an August '75 ride from Frankfurt to Darmstadt and back with a friend who had a 50cc Yamaha. And we took turns at the front to give those little engines a break.
I love that you actually show some riding after each of the rebuilds. so many people out there spend all this time to rebuild something forgetting that its begging to be ridden!
My dad bought one of these and the Honda 50 model back in the 70's, we mostly ran the 50, the 70 was a torque monster. I was going up a big hill on the 50 and guy on a big bike said you will never make it up there I told him you just watch, I did make it up there. I love these bikes.
Did my '81 CT70 restore about 5 years ago. Put about 1100km on it since then and every time I ride it someone offers to buy it from me! Glad to see another one restored and back on the road guys!
here in belgium alot of 16 - 18 year olds drive those around, they are 50cc tho. you dont see them alot anywhere else in the world its cool to see you rebuild one i have one too
My dad owns a CT50G which sit for about 22 years in the garage. After some carb cleaning and a oil change it runs perfect ! Still there is plenty to do but it's good enough for now.
Beautiful scooter!!! I do things like this regularly but I can not get over how great the video quality side of things with this build. Beautiful garage, excellent documentation throughout the entire process and best of all the most organized and cleanest garage ever to work in.
Nice job Aaron great to see young blood creating there builds. Its hard to believe but these bikes are more popular today than ever. Keep it going Rick
I own a 1969 ct70 honda bike, and I have been wanting to do a full build with it. Awesome bike!!! I enjoyed how organized you where about the whole build, inspiring!

Restored one of these a few months ago I’m absolutely jealous in how good of a condition you found your bike especially for that price range, dirtiest bikes I’ve ever cleaned found snake skin the my own restoration
Was here for the cr500 restore rebuild than u hooked me with the rc31 now this and I have a ct70 I inherited from my late uncle tbh its sitting in my danky basement it needs tlc badly great vids btw!
T Bolt USA is the best company ever! Very knowledgeable sincere owners they truly do try their hardest to be the best in pit bikes Great informational video THANK YOU!
That was my 1st bike when I was a little boy, I believe it must have been 1976. Was a great time. But as I remember right, the Dax was called ST-70 , in any case in Europe and in Asia. Never mind, you did again a nice job !
I like your approach to everything aspect of the restorations. You are doing it perfect my man God bless you. PS: Your organization skills are impressive.
Nice build. I still have the 1973 ct-70 that was under the Christmas 🎄 in 72. *New ones came out in September. Still mint, yet I recall absolutely trashing it on a weekly basis. Cheers
I have the same ct 70 with 110 miles on it been wanting to redo it for some time now this might of been the push I need once I finish rebuilding the 1960 tote goat
I’ve got a 77 4 speed. I’ve been want to do a build on it. I’ve got a local company that does complete resto for like 5k all you need is the frame and engine case and they do the rest.
It all started to maintain my freestyle bikes but It was not overnight that it all happened. Since I moved into my workshop I invest about 2k a year into tools, equipment and consumables. Learning a few new processes each year as I level up the builds. The next episode of the series is an in depth Garage tour!
@@AaronColton93 That's where I wanna be. Thanks for the insight and awesome content. I've been wrenching on my rescue CT70, and this video was a wealth of inspiration. Can't wait to see the garage tour!
First, your daughter is just TOO CUTE! Great job on the rebuild. Kinda concerned about baking off parts in your home oven tho. Wish I could find a workable CT bike around me. They're either rusted beyond belief or people have restored them and want thousands.
It makes me miss my grom so bad. I feel like you repainted the bike just for the sake of the video but I still enjoyed the building process. Good video.
The bike is cool, but everything you do is cool. I have watched some other build videos, your lighting and editing are great, your talents look endless..it should give everyone who loves motorcycles inspiration to watch you smile through a project.. From basket case to beautiful looks to be your thing..another job well done
Thank you! We have been putting a lot of effort into these and look forward to making more of them. Plant the seed and inspire those with projects world wide!
Just an FYI , Ct 70s have 2 piece rims so you dont need to use a tire bar or risk screwing up the bead with a screw driver. Four 10mm nuts with an impact driver and bob's your uncle.

So many memories have been made with the CT70!
So nice of the CT to give you some free Leg Tattoos. Give that 71 some love!
Waw, this CT is definitely a family member right now ^^ Congratulations for keeping is such a long time !

The Trail 70 was the first two-wheeler I rode with a clutch. The late 60's and early 70's was an awesome time to grow up. Everyone in the neighborhood had mini-bikes.
I remember the qa50 Honda as well as all the 1969 bikes I had a dealership East side Honda here in Detroit Michigan down the street from were we live.

These bikes were the best as a kid growing up in the 80s these were so much fun.
bro breaks my heart you stripped such a good survivor paint
Custom builds are not for the faint of heart. It upset a few purists for sure.
That's why I bought a crappy bare frame so I didn't ruin a clean looking one.
Hurt me a bit too. Wish he sourced a worse frame
My dad had 2 trail 90s from the 70s with perfect patina on them but I was young and dumb and didn't know what they were.
I have this same year bike in mint condition all original
I had one, greatest time of life when your on a motorcycle, no license, riding down the railroads tracks, not coming back.. cool family...
CT70 = Freedom
I come back to watch this every other month, its such a well put together build and Aaron is just great at narrating.
“Stripping went amazing last night.”😂
It always does ;)
My girlfriends and I always say that.
HaHaHa😂
Haha yo I was just going to say that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂

THIS!!!!!!
I remember riding with this guy way back in the day in MN. Didn’t even have a license yet and made us all look like amateurs.
Still at it.... I love seeing this. Congratulations on all of your success, Aaron!
Thank you buddy! I hope all is well. To this day remember the first day I went to the ATL spot and your where absolutely flying on the front wheel.

Just saw this bike in person at COTA and it's every bit as beautiful as it is in the video
Mine is still sitting at my garage waiting to be brought to life again.. planning on a resto mod after seeing this.. thank you..
In belgium these bikes are everywhere (even i have one).
It's one of the most popular choices for a 50cc
I wish there was the 50 here as well for the Moped License but win win either way.
i live in belgium and i have one
I also have one. Not an original tho, but still

My first bike was a ct70 back in the late 80s. Got it from a family member, and it got me hooked.
Where is the gas tank? Lol
If that’s the old formula of the aircraft stripper, prepare for disappoint the next time you need to purchase it!
Build turned out great!
That turned out unbelievably epic👌
Thank you!
Sucks that it was in such good condition before hand but damn that thing turned out insane. 10 out of 10 from me
Great Job on Resto Mod. Its great to see the younger generation keep the torch going. Great Job.
My first bike, damn thing is probably still running somewhere! Been riding for forty years, had many Honda 750's. Never let me down....EVER!
