      You are so lucky, I desperately wanted to get a ticket for the Roundhouse concert in London but sadly I couldn’t, I am now imagining how wonderful it would be to not only see the show but also to see the show again via you tube. Brilliant stuff and congratulations for your double dip experience 🎉🎉🎉😊

    I suppose you have to be a bit of a hardcore fan to recognise those songs but I love the intensity of that set. Might checkout his back catalogue after that. ❤

      U gotta. There are some really great songs in there. You will dig them when you can kick back and listen to them. I got into his newer music back in 2019 when a friend mentioned how badass Gary Numan was back at that Hollywood Cemetery gig for his record Splinter. Splinter, Savage and Intruder (his latest record is Intruder) are all in creative order. It’s like some sort of Earth apocalypse theme. Anyway start with Splinter it’s really Bitchin. Then again the earlier records are good as well.

      Gary Numan, Billy Idol and David Bowie. Those three, in the late 70s, early 80s were something else. But Gary and Billy are still strong live.

    With this sound his back catalogue sounds more NIN than new wave

    • @rdzu834
      @rdzu834 4 місяці тому

      When he began his music career in the 70s he wasn’t thinking “I’m going to be part of this New Wave movement that’s growing” He found a Synthesiser, liked the heavy sound it provided and used it.
      Never liked being considered as “Synthpop” either. Too busy doing his own thing.
      Which is exactly what he’s doing now. Some tracks sound similar to NIN, but for the most part NIN/Trent doesn’t really use Choir pads and strings the way Gary does.

    Is it just me or has Gary Numan morphed in the larger part of his career as having more stage charisma ?

    • @tmish9882
      @tmish9882  5 місяців тому +2

      I will keep it short and say yes. He evolved and stays relevant as opposed to someone just rehashing old material.

    Surprised (somewhat pleasantly) that he played so few of his classics. Shame that he chose Cars (overplayed) over Films or something else from that era. Wish he would have included Here in the Black, which is definitely one of his better recent songs. Thanks for uploading.

      @@Bellalugosi86Personally, Cars is what made me discover him when I was a kid cause it played on the radio and it will remain one of my favorite of all time because of how happy it makes me. It's a popular one for a reason and it keeps making the crowd move. I do hope he still loves it as much as I do!

      I've seen him live 4 times in the last 10 years and with the exception of the 40th anniversary tour he's got a selection of classics he plays live, and he'll play most but not all of them in a set - you'll usually get Cars, Are "Friends" Electric and Down in the Park in a set, plus a few out of Metal, Films, I Die: You Die, Every Day I Die, Me! I Disconnect From You and This Wreckage. And... At this point can we call Pure and Exile and Jagged old? Because he plays stuff from them fairly frequently and Jagged's 18 years old now...

      @@lorcannagle Right you are about those albums. Seems like we are also due for the 30th anniversary tour of Sacrifice, the album that relaunched him. Don't know what is going on with the re-release of that album which was re-recorded a few years back. Seems like it would be time to drop it.

    I adore Gary and have for decades...but it makes me sad to see such heavy reliance on his vocals being pre-recorded and piped to, at worst, lip synching; not sure which but it's definitely the case these days. That said - still puts on a hell of a show, I just miss hearing him sing with that unique voice of his.

    Anyone know what happened to the guitarist at about the 45.00 mark. He walked off stage pointing at his mouth. Gary looked surprised he was exiting stage right in the middle of the song.
