I worked on security in his heyday and when he played Coventry Theatre I was charged with getting him safely to his car at the end of his show. While waiting backstage I got talking to a lovely lady who was watching from the sidelines. Her security name badge had the surname 'Webb'. Well we chatted for a few minutes until I eventually asked her who she was and why she was back-stage. Turned out I had been chatting with his mum. Cracking atmosphere I might add while he was playing. I was very fortunate as I saw so many incredible bands in those days, often extremely close up.
