Idea looks great, but what happens when you hit large sticks or worse submerged logs, or weed beds? Do they foils subtract when loading onto & off trailers?
How would one launch this boat from a trailer if one did not have access to a crane, given that the main hydrofoil does not appear to full retract flush into the hull?
just curious.. running too close to islands. have you built any small towed arrays with GPS and depth recorders to string out and chart the shallows at least in your testing area.. nice work though.. i might have attempted to calculate slightly more foil surface to gain lift at a lower speed.
A candela is a measure of luminous intensity adjusted for the human eye. I am not sure I understand how these guys picked Candela as a name for an electric hydrofoil? Anyone have an idea of where the name came from?
Mate, I hate to be the devil's advocate, but I must ask why you think the foils should be positioned mid ships and not further forward to improve stability? Any weight transfer or loading of the bow will cause increased instability with the posibility of nose diving and shock loading followed by catastrophic failure of the forward foils. It also produces excessive drag on the rear foil as it is trimmed to try to rectify this.
Same reason that planes have one wing in the middle and a smaller tail rather than two large wings one at the front and one at the back. The foil/ wing in the middle does all of the lifting the one in the back/tail is only for stability. The fist wing disturbs the air/water making the one it the back less efficient, a longer wing is also more efficient than two smaller ones.
Well done! The V-shaped foils provide inherent roll stability, right? Any dynamic assist there? The pitch stability is fully electronic, I assume? thanks
Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats it's a great success !!!!!!!!!!! Have fun ! I love innovation and more when that's coming out of the regulars ways !!!!!!!!!
Awesome! I think the is the future. One thing that killed the military use of foils in the 60's was risk of underwater strikes ripping foils off. Still an issue I assume?
"...with, speed, range and silence..." Says the onscreen text as the music keeps blaring over the supposed silence. Sigh. Deducting points from you Candela for that glaring mistake.
My foil/fin designs are similar. (just the part under the water). Ive drawn a few but require much greater power requirements and accommodate a lager hull/cabin design..... Any one want to let me borrow 230K? Ive seen lesser vessels being marketed for 1m and up. Imagine a travel camper like a silver airstream that is a boat but can untrailer and dock with a powered hydrofoil platform, that is a vessel in and of its self. (catamaran or trimaran style). Im not an engineer so Im stuck with the feesability and pitfalls of building such idea. I like the wide bi-foil design, stable, simple.
Without flaps on the foils like an airplane, it will never handle well. Wands are ok for small boats but not that practical under power. A full beam surface piercing foil (such as a Rodriguez RHS 140 system, would provide control and stability, at the moment it is little more than a gimmick.
How strong is the hydrofoil if you hit debris, or the bottom? Can the boat be launched at a boat ramp by trailer?
Congratulations guys! That feeling must be amazing
Well done guys. Persistence overcomes resistance!
Yes!
If I recognised it properly I think EKF is the extended Kalman filter to stabilise balance.
Very Inspiring boat building video with a good production...great job!!!
Amazing job! You worth all the success!!
Congratulations guys, Hydrfoil is the way to go!
Excellent job CANDELA PARTNERS !!!!, I need one of this for the 🏝 islands.
Great job, well done, all the best!
Wonderful story! Looking forward to see an archipelago full of Candelas.
Great story of perseverance. Nothing is easy but winners keep on trying.
Whats the Top Speed. Range & then re-charge. Hp of electric out board. Please & thx

AWESOME! CONGRATULATIONS!
Wow!!! - I want one - wonderful!
Bravo! Lov this Story.
Congratulations, I love Innovation
U guys motivated me so much
Wow I love it!
Nice work!
How would one launch this boat from a trailer if one did not have access to a crane, given that the main hydrofoil does not appear to full retract flush into the hull?
It is build to go on a trailer. All is retractable.
just curious.. running too close to islands. have you built any small towed arrays with GPS and depth recorders to string out and chart the shallows at least in your testing area.. nice work though.. i might have attempted to calculate slightly more foil surface to gain lift at a lower speed.
The sea charts of Sweden are very good so no, no special measuring.
Why was it not stable at the begining ?
Cellular checks and tuneups like TESLA?
Yes, please. I want one!
What made you change from cat to v and will you build a cat in the future?
BTW where is your shop?
For en video! For en avslutning! ...eller egentlig begynnelse.. Takk som deler!

@Eddy Vanderhellen all energy come from light originally. Candela.
With speed, range and silence, but most important! No wake!
Exactly!
Nice, looks very satisfying, wishing you lots of success (just read the sale numbers from CES).
How many decibel did you measure?

Id enjoy that smooth ride. What is the draft?
How does it load on a trailer?
Great effort guys well done

Thanks for the kind words!
Why not impeller?
Awesome! I think the is the future. One thing that killed the military use of foils in the 60's was risk of underwater strikes ripping foils off. Still an issue I assume?
Hoovercrafts killed military hydrofoils.
How much does one cost?
Spectacular!
Boating won't look back!
that is amazing
love it. entrepreneurs at work
Now you've mastered the plan making lots of them will be easy. Are they more expensive than a 'conventional' machine?
Price ends up roughly 50% above a conventional 25ft boat.
Candela Speed Boat "conventional" is a very loose term haha still looking forward to seeing good this hit the market
Hats off to you all!
skeptical they dont list speed, battery distance or any specs. When they dont do that it means poor performance...
add a nice dc charging genny and wire it in so it auto charges the battery and you have a nice boat.
Thank you.
This is why hydrofoil is not the future of fast ferries here in our country because there are a lot of debris floating in the ocean.

the music please

do love it to
amazing
A fossil burning boat? I don't think fossils burn.
Erm... they burn quite well when decomposed for thousands of years in the ground. You might call it gas. Fossil fuels are the more general name.
Hero music really sucks: you aren't trying to save the world here, you're trying to build a luxury boat.
wow, i want one
wow
I've watched almost a dozen of your videos, and not one shows a single detail....
Which detail would you like to see more of?
@@Candelaboats all the drawings to make such a miracle)))
💪👍
Just don't hit something
💪
been done before not practical!!!! wake up hit something? definitly noy for the west coast maybe lakes?

Would really suck to hit a rock
