    Jingles is more comfortable with the flock now. Come and see all of Jingles videos starting on the first day that I got him ua-cam.com/play/PL6uTBIckTWD7eUC9disd7d2rm9iO5m_Zk.html

      Hello Mam, I have 2 regular baby budgies. One male 3months age another female 5months age. Been a month I'm having them. Male came 1st then d female. Few times male bites the female with his beak while sharing food, perches and swings. And remaining time they stay close to each other. Yesterday day i bought a 8-9months old English female budgie, who is huge in built compared to my birds and she is now biting my both birds with her strong beak while sharing food and perches. Seems she is ruling them. Is it normal? Does it happens whenever one introduces a new bird to old bird?

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  5 років тому

      Two females usually fight unfortunately. Did you introduce them slowly by putting the cages side by side or did you just put her in right away? Also make sure to have several food and water dishes and perches throughout the cage and have them in a very large cage so they can escape each other but they may still fight.

    • @dhdas81
      @dhdas81 5 років тому

      @@Loveofpets Yes i introduced them by putting cage side by side and they were calling each other then. When d new bird entered in cage all was good for 10hrs but later fight started, the big age one rulling both d old birds. Now they have slept peacefully...let's see next morning. But no major injury happened.
      Even I'm scared to touch d new bird. Both of my old bird get feeds from my hand and even do step up. New one only looks fat and bit angry. 😣

    Jingles is sooo cute! I had a scary incident with my 15 week old budgie the other day... He broke his bloodfeather somehow and I read that I needed to pull it out so that he wouldn't bleed to death. I looked up a video of exactly how to do it and your video was the first that popped up! I said hey I watch her already! So I watched your video and successfully plucked his bloodfeather. It hurt him a lot because after I plucked it He was holding his wing out from his body and shaking it. I felt so bad! But he recovered pretty quickly. It was traumatic for both of us though! I hope I never have to do that again

    Love your bird room and all your birds. Looks like Jingles will be one of the flock soon!
    I am getting an English budgie soon. The breeder has a very friendly one but not sure if male or female. I wanted a male but have read personality is more important than gender. Since you have both genders and you also have English budgies, I would greatly appreciate and value your opinion. It will be my only bird. What do you think. Gender versus personality?? If it were lovebirds I would absolutely only want a male. In my experience they make better pets as they mature. Don't know as much about English budgies. I have had two budgies in my life and one was an English but both were males. Thank you for your videos and sharing your birds and your knowledge of them with us!

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  5 років тому

      Hi, thank you! I have had more males than females and do like males better than females because my females would bite me hard. In your situation since you will only have one I think a female will be okay but you never know until you try. I have a friend with only one female budgie and she is awesome. She is friendly and does not bite and she talks and lands on them. If I were you I would pick personality over gender since you will only have one

      Two are always better but sometimes they won't get along and need separate cages. They like to see and hear other birds but may fight in same cage. Which type of bird is most gentle in the flock and likely to make friends or at least tolerate a budgie? A love bird, a green cheeked conure, a parrolet, a cockatiel or a ringneck or mustache parakeet? You see, I bought my first bird, a budgie, at Pet Smart. After close to a year of persistent training, I believe that he's as close to being as tame as he will be without watching and learning from another hand raised bird. So, I'm looking for my second bird companion that will ride on my shoulder and hang out with me as well as show my parakeet that life can be safe and fun outside of the cage. I already have a separate cage for it. I love my little budgie and I have not given up on him, but I think a hand raised bird bought from a breeder or an adopted bird could be good for both of us. Which breeds would you suggest? I will not buy a Pet Smart bird again...Thank you!

    Do you think that some of your other birds reactions to Jingles is because he cannot fly yet due to his wings being clipped? Now I realize that these clipped wings have to fall out first and then new wings grow in, so that the bird can fly (not like our long hair being cut and then just growing back to the longer length.
    I have liked Jack Sparrow since seeing the video where you were able to catch him from outside; he adapted very well to the other budgies, but surprised to hear you say he is "pesky", doesn't like other birds eating food and I thought his snap at Jingles was inappropriate. Hopefully things keep improving for Jingles.

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  5 років тому

      I don't think my other birds realize that Jingles can't fly yet. Jack Sparrow is trying to be the leader of the flock. He is the most pesky budgie that I have had. He bites some of my birds feathers and chases them away from food. I am not sure what I will do with him.
