Rook looks so regal with her shiny black feathers! It's also interesting seeing how big she is compared to you because I hardly ever see corvids with humans I forget how big all of the species in the family are.
OMG, thank you for pointing that out! I couldn't understand what he was saying! That's HILARIOUS!! What does he say right before that? It sounds like, "Sawyer." ??
Someone else said he said, "I can talk!" and that sounds like what he's saying now. The power of suggestion. I wonder if Jessie can tell us definitely what he said?
ShadeSlayer1911 Iridescence that's the word I was looking for, but my brain said "hey I thought of a bad pun" after that it was just oooh big black birb is shiny.
It's so cool to see how much personality the birds have. I would love to see a similar video about your reptiles or at least the snakes. Also your hair looks really nice!
Gabriel Pedre hmmm I suppose that’s true, but if we lived in a world where people only spoke when asked then no one would say anything ever. So that doesn’t really make a lot of sense to write. So I guess it’s not really the speaking without asking that’s the problem, especially since you didn’t write that to every commenter on this video, so what is your problem Gabriel?
Love the lovey doves! And chickens! So nice to see you sheltering / caring for them. They often get disregarded, but they're smart, sweet, beautiful animals just like all the others.
Thank you for all you have done to educate people about all kinds of animals. Thank you also for telling people realistically about what they can expect from their animals, so they will not adopt, get frustrated, and abandon them. They are not here to entertain us. They are here to live their lives. And we need to support that!
We have a Harris Hawk at the local rescue named One-eyed-Jack. You guessed it! He only has one eye and is very territorial and squawks whenever you come near. We also have a raven named Raven, and she is a bit bigger than Rook, but LOVES eggs. She will stash them and when you come over she will jump down and grab it to show it off! XD I'm glad you provide these guys such a good home! Love from the West Coast!
You say surprisingly common, but it's still rare compared to heterosexual pairings. And I hope I don't have to explain the obvious reasons why it's that way. This isn't to say that homosexuality is unnatural or anything, but please don't use misleading evolutionary biology to justify that. It just has to occur at all in nature for it to be natural. Even if it's just in humans, it's still natural. And being natural does not make it any more right or wrong, so it's ridiculous to even try to pander to that reasoning. There's nothing wrong with homosexuality because it doesn't inherently harm anyone. The naturalness or commonality in other species does not factor in this moral argument one bit. And trying to even humor that sort of reasoning gives ammo to those homophobes. The only response you should give to someone saying "homosexuality isn't natural" is "Neither are cars. I bet you drive though." On a side note, birds as a class are kinda strange when it comes to sexuality and reproduction. Ducks are fucking weird.
Nah, you can look knowledgeable. It's a confidence thing and she shows it. It's not a sexual statement I promise, it's a genuine compliment. I'm not here to be a creeper lol. I feel like she knows what she's talking about just in how she portrays herself and that's quite an amazing skill!
While I was doing research on how to care for a bird this was one of my favorite channels. I’ve now had my cockatiel for a little over three years 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Wow, thank you so much for giving us an update on rook. I was just wondering how she was doing while watching a few of your older videos. She seemed much more calm than her first video. I absolutely adore ravens, and seeing how they interact in captivity is awesome.
I just want to let you know that I have a female cat who perks up whenever she hears birds. She becomes super alert, like someone called her name or something. I tell people that she's fluent in bird. During this video her ears twitched and she looked around trying to find the birds. She does the same during the Bird Note Podcast. I have three cats and she's the only one that acts this way.
question! I know several pigeon breeders and they've all told me keeping parrots in the same room together with pigeons and doves can cause trauma for the pigeons and doves because parrots and related birds are so much louder. is this the case? do you keep your pigeon and dove in a separate room?
I've been trying to learn about new birds and the variety of birds in this video is so nice. Also very informative, kind to my attention span and a very well spoken presentation.

6:50 I'm a bit dissapointed that you didn't mention the gaping that the raven did, as it's a sign of stress. A lot of people don't know this, and the amount of viewers you reach is an exellent point to teach people this. I've seen waaay too many people handling hens or birds stressing them out, but they themselves don't realise that and think it's normal.

All of the birds at AW are beautiful, but Hara is my favorite. How hard was it to get a permit for her? I heard it’s pretty rare for animal educators to be able to obtain one. Did you need to get a falconers license as well or did you just get a permit from the Fish and Widlife Services?
*I have 18 parrots!!* I HAD 12 but one recently passed away and now I only have 11. Although it seems a lot it’s really fun to own so many. I love them all and I think we can both agree that I wouldn’t trade my birds for anything!!
The world needs a video on Sprinkles! Parrotlets are so misunderstood, they're so sweet and affectionate. People think they're mean because they're less forgiving to poor handling. But just because they're more likely to bite from poor handling, doesn't make poorly handling cockatiels better. Or parrotlets meaner.
I like that you don't edit out the normal animal behavior. The chirping and chatting. Too cute

MelonBerriable Homosexual behavior is surprisingly common in nature, thus proving that it is NOT unnatural, as many homophobes would argue.
Birds have more documented homosexual behaviors than any other group of animals, by, like, alot.
Funny how no one calls the two males gay. Just because two of the females are friends and are in sync egg wise suddenly it's a big deal. Lol
