    It's been 2 years since this vid was published and I still absolutely love referring back to it. TBH it's really refreshing to see someone using a planner as a planner and not as a sticker book

    Finally a functional planner without stickers and junk! I’m so thankful for this video.

    Thanks for sharing a good video... I am using ny Hobo A6 for notes too. And my braindumping for any ideas. Have tried Jibun Techo, Franklin Planner Japanese Slim Edition Business - 7 Habits, Filofax Personal - Pocket Mini, Hobo A5 - Weeks Mega, Ciak. And finally best of the best for portability and notes is Hobo A6. For scheduling I choose Franklin Planner 7 Habits.

    I've been trying other people who use MS Office products heavily for work but still like a physical planner. Not many of us that I've found. I've been looking for other ways to use the weekly section in the cousin as well as the daily time slots. I cannot function without outlook for meetings but I just love the hobonichi and all my pens. Glad to have found another digital/analog combo person. Thanks for the inspiration. As soon as you said "ticket" I was like hmmm I bet she work in IT 😂

    This is perfect. I am Happy to see someone using a Hobonichi for work. I use a Cousin A5 but it’s mostly for work as those are most of my scheduled events. I can’t have two separate planners for home and work or I’ll forget things for each.
    I absolutely love this.

    This was so helpfull. I'm currently using my weeks for work and I find myself using the notes page a lot more than the weekly side, so I bought an A6 Hobonichi for 2021!! Btw, I wouldn't mind at all a 30 minute long planning video :D

    This was great as I’m in IT with a different style job. I’ve considered using planner as a reference back to OneNote or just where notes are for project/ticket. It’s great to see that it is workable and I hadn’t thought about color coding

    I just bought this note book for helping me track my sons school work. The apps(yes more than one!) our school uses are so confusing for my very visual brain. So I need more space than my Hobo a5 was giving me. I am color coding his classes as well. Your method will definable help with school classes too. Thanks for this video!

    I keep going back and forth on the a6 vs cousin. I like the idea of the weekly spread in the a5 for my work meetings(so so many meetings) and then dailies for work tasks as well as my personal stuff. But carrying around the a5 seems like a hassle, so I think about the a6 + the small weekly book. Then I wonder if that is enough room for work tasks and my personal stuff. T-T

  • @reezademonteverde1349
    @reezademonteverde1349 4 роки тому +1

    Love this, thank you!! I tried using the Cousin for combined work and personal this year, but I'm definitely struggling with keeping both on track in one planner.
    Also, I noticed it looks like you work in an agile environment. How do you handle tasks you don't complete that day/week without something like a rolling weekly spread? Is that something you track in your tickets or digitally or at all in your planner? Thanks so much for the advice!!

    • @lindseyscribbles
      @lindseyscribbles  4 роки тому +3

      I try to keep as much of my work as I can digitally so it’s easier to send off across teams etc. the planner really is more of a focus page for the day. It’s my most important tasks I don’t want to lose in emails along with a quick note on important decisions made etc to trigger my brain.
      Most of my meeting notes are in one note or otherwise digital, but the planner helps me find what day something happened so sifting through tickets and notes on my computer goes a bit faster. Hope that made sense!

    • @lindseyscribbles
      @lindseyscribbles  3 роки тому

      Uni Jetstream is my #1 recommendation, but I'm using a tombow mono drawing pen in 01 in my work planner. Neither bleed through - but the tombow will have more shadowing in my experience

    Hi Lindsey! Great video! So much insight! It’s my first time to use a Hobonichi, but mine’s the A6 English so I don’t have those helpful little boxes on the day pages. :(
    Anyhow... re index: To clarify, do you just write the most important highlight of the day per day for the month? Thanks in advance and happy new year :)

    • @lindseyscribbles
      @lindseyscribbles  3 роки тому

      Pretty much! Anything I think I’d need to find again (sometimes there’s nothing worth writing down). If I have multiple I just try and cram both in there and use my highlighters accordingly!

      Uni Jet Stream 0.5 is a dream. You can highlight immediately after and it will not smear. I have not looked back since i've started using it and i highlight color code a lot of items in my Hobonichi cousin.

      This one is a tombow mono drawing pen in 01 - which I can highlight afterwards but it needs a few minutes of dry time. I 100% recommend the Uni Jetstream though, it's best for no smears!

      Obviously I'm not Lindsey but I'd like to chime in to say that if you're in the USA, Jetpens is a wonderful place to buy the Hobonichi (and other Japanese stationery!). I'm in Canada and got mine at a great little store called Wonderpens, but I've ordered from Jetpens in the past and they are awesome!

      @@samanthab5388 yeah the 2021 Hobonichi release came out Sept 8th on Jetpens and boy did it sell out quickly! I had no idea it would be gone so fast. But I found out that Hobonichi does another release in October, Wonderpens told me that they are getting more stock in at that point so I'm assuming Jetpens will be too. Hope you can get what you want! I feel lucky I nabbed the actual planner itself even if I missed out on any accessories.
