Man, I don't blame you. I am only 19 and I think that this product is pure shit. About a topic, why don't you do: Ways that WWE can improve its product? Good video.
I'm 19 too and I stopped watching full time in July 2013 and started watching Raw regularly sometime last year. 95% of Raw is the drizzling shits, SmackDown, Main Event and Superstars are pointless and NXT is nothing special.
Jean Carlos Vazquez Marcano 1) Lucha Underground moves in seasons like a regular TV show, so the plug wasn't pulled it just went on season hiatus, 2) It's El Ray and it's parent company is NBC universal which owns Univision, if you're going to blame people blame the right people, 3) We want Netflix to join with El Ray (home network and English TV provider) Unimas (Spanish language provider) as the Digital Distributors and help finish Funding season 2 of Lucha Underground and hopefully further season after 2
Wrestling to me has always been about story lines and characters. That's where the niche in wrestling is, the athleticism of the wrestlers is necessary but the concept of wrestling as a business can't survive without those two critical elements. And right now WWE, the only company I watch now, do seem to be shifting away from making that the focal point. There's no signature story and/or feud I can point to since HHH vs. Bryan and Punk's mid-11 run before that, so already we're talking about years between compelling angles which have left an impression on me. And the only two characters I'd pay money to watch in 2015 are Brock Lesnar & Randy Orton, and the latter is merely for nostalgic value since all traces of what made him appealing to me in the mid to late noughties have gone. And having to watch what's become of certain would-be favorites of mine such as Ambrose & Wyatt in a different creative environment is just depressing sometimes. If it wasn't for green and a convenient work schedule I'd find it very hard to stay in tune with WWE. Once Lesnar & Orton are gone, if even once they book that match so I can finally see it, it'll be impossible.
5 years ago we still had HBK, Triple H, Edge, Jericho, Taker, Batista in a somewhat fulltime schedule. Since then which star was made? Sheamus? Gimme a break. And people still think Cena is great for the business.
KalvinEllis Are you serious? Why none of the guys from The Shield main eveinting Summerslam then? 2 of the guys are on tag match that means absolute 0 and Rollins is going to get buried by the guy that didn't allow any star to be made for 10 years.
Luis Roulette And what if he doesn't? Oh, I am dead serious. Rollins is your world champion, Reigns and Ambrose are kept consistently in the upper card without being shoved down your throat. I honestly think the company learned their lesson from the backlash with Reigns. Now they do well with both him and Dean. Sometimes they are title contenders, other times they are not. Sometimes they are in the main event against the Authority, others they are in the mid to uppercard with the Wyatts. That's how you keep wrestlers in important spots without shoving them up the fans' asses. Now that Punk and Bryan are not around, The Shield are part of the current top guys. Hell, they are given more attention than Randy Orton, that should tell you something. But I'm guessing to you if you're not treated like Cena. you're not a top guy.
Top 5 ways to improve WWE Raw: 1. WWE should go back to 2 or 3 writers who are actually on the same page. 2. WWE should produce a 2 hour Raw show. 3. WWE should care about the under- and midcard scene again. 4. WWE should do once more what its Universe wants. 5. WWE should get rid of Vince McMahon.
I don't even bother watching raw or the ppvs/special events. Damn sure won't shell out $9.99 for it. My only interest is the videos each week. If a segment/match is good enough, I'll watch go back and watch a segment. For me the only entertainment I get out of wrestling is watching Botchamania and re-watching Jim Cornette shoot videos.
im done with wrestling i only listen to reviewers to keep me up to date and u guys entertain me more than the 3 hr raw shows and also recommend a good match that i must see, other than that i just watch my superhero tv shows and movies
I love your ability to relate, we may have different opinions at times but we both want the same result at the end of the day. A good wrestling product. Keep up the great work!
ROH - I like what I've seen from ROH so far since they've been on DA. I've heard some funny wrestling names in my lifetime, but "Cheeseburger"? ROTFL! However, I do agree about the timeslot thing. Even if DA's mentality is "Impact's ratings are better than ROH's so we'll put ROH after them", 11:00 PM EST is NOT an ideal time to watch a program that's supposed to get you excited. I'm usually watching Seinfeld reruns during that time, getting ready to go to sleep for the night, things like that. TNA - I still enjoy watching TNA. I will say this about them, whenever I've gone to a live event of theirs, I have had a great time. They really make the fans feel like they are a part of the experience. EC3 is the freakin' man right now IMO. I do agree though that the glory days of wrestling are long gone. GFW - Chris Masters, huh? He was my favorite heel when he's was doing the "Masterpiece" gimmick; he was like a next-generation Lex Luger, a classic heel whose physique and cockiness got him over. I've said it in the comments for other videos and I'll say it again here: if DA somehow hosts all three shows (TNA, ROH, and GFW), and tried to use them as a catalyst for resigning with and reinvigorating the NWA, that would be really interesting in my view. Superficial? Maybe. Bold? I think so. NXT - To paraphrase a tagline from an old cartoon series, "if they're the future... wrestling is history!" And those are my thoughts on the wrestling companies. Thank you for reading. "Wait, you forgot about WWE". No I didn't... SMH no I didn't.
The last episode of lucha libre was the best show I have seen in a long time. The main event was the best match I have seen in the past few years. Give it a look.
best wrestling discussion video in a long ass time. amen to everything you said brother. nxt is overrated as fuck, the characters have NO depth or complexity whatsoever to them.
You know wrestling is so boring, when I dont watch Raw anymore. When Summerslam is coming, and I find it hard to click the freaking download torrent because I'm afraid I will go through hours of boredom, also when i watch TNA, and I am passing out on the couch, then I remember it's a so called 'PPV' but I cant remember the matches or who won. It really sucks bad.
Calls TNA boring, doesn't consistently watch the product to understand storylines, characters, or watch matches. Plus claims to have not watch TNA in over a year and a half but knows who EC3 is, then only judges TNA through reading wwe fanboy biased dirtsheets......LMAO ALL THIS CUTENESS IS KILLING
GuyOnInternetWhoDoesntLieForViews TNA is good. My only problem is they went back to the impact zone. I like the characters and stories. The women( not divas excluding the NXT women) actually wrestle and look better. I like EC3, James Storm, and Bobby Roode. TNA is still good.
Cody Fortier no i mean biased dirt sheets for example PWMania, posted a story titled TNA ratings down, did RoH's new timeslot help them. In the article TNA had 327K whereas RoH had 157K, TNA had the better ratings but was made to look like it didn't get ratings
I agree Lucha Underground and NXT are overrated. With NXT, the product feels like a glorified show of ROH except the action is watered down. Lucha Underground is good but people seem to gloss over the really bad mistakes. For example Sexy Starr beating Pentagon Jr. was ridiculous and a terrible booking decision but it gets glossed over which is good for them. Also some of the backstage segments while filmed well also can feel really corny and ridiculous. I feel TNA is very underrated. I also hate that when TNA does something bad, people will treat it like another nail in the coffin. When TNA does something good, it doesn't matter and few people will give them credit.
I'd love to know how ROH try to be like ECW? I see very, very few similarities and I'm someone who watches every week. ECW was an anti-establishment who worked an extremely large number of hardcore style matches. ROH is a company who works to appeal to all kinds of wrestling fans with very few hardcore style matches. Also, how can you say about the lack of story telling? This year alone has told some very compelling stories such as the rivalry between Steve Corino and BJ Whitmer. And don't throw the Corino/ECW shit this way because Corino has carved out his own legacy in ROH! The feud between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe was brilliant too and the STORY behind that feud worked perfectly. Oh, and who should happen to be going into their second biggest event of the year with a very, very similar story? Oh yeah, WWE! How can you sit there and down talk a product you don't fucking watch? Come back once you've checked out a couple of months of ROH TV and then if you find things to criticise, then by all means do it. But don't sit there and bash something you don't fucking watch! If you want to watch wrestling from outside the States that isn't "boring", check out New Japan. Arguably the best wrestling product out there today!
I agree with you completely. however it's not just boring just in the sense that it's boring, its so boring that it insults us as fans of wrestling. people like Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter are people that need to leave. heck people should force them to leave if that's what it takes to make wrestling better. but I think the biggest thing that we wrestling fans should just admit is that no matter how hard they try wrestling will never ever be as big as it was in the 80's and 90's. even if you had a big monstrous babyface that resembled Hogan in a way, it will still never be a big deal like it should be. I'm proud to be a wrestling fan and always will be, but Schlegdaddy, you are 100% correct.
OTRSCentral I appreciate that, but the title of the video is misleading, and a couple seconds into the video you say "american" pro wrestling is boring. LU is an american promotion. So is PWG.
OTRSCentral - Except the issue is that the video is the industry as a whole and you go on a triad with a few organizations and saying that pro wrestling is bad because all the promotions give bad product. If there are groups that aren't bad then they should also be mentioned to avoid discussions like these.
OTRSCentral I agree, Lucha Underground has found a good balance between story telling, entertainment, and in ring action. And they do all this in one hour, which because the show is put together right it always seems like is just enough time.
I came across Lucha Underground last week and saw the whole marathon until the season finale, I didnt think modern wrestling could actually entertain me as much as LU did. I`m a fan now, I think the X factor their are the Mexican wrestlers. I`m mexican and grew up watching Triple AAA and the WWF. I saw both shows in person growing up. But modern mexican wrestlers have talent the WWE guys don`t have. Maybe they are not as BIG as american wrestlers but they make up for it in ring talent. Back in the late 90s the Cruiserweight division in WCW offered lots of thrills and fun. I hope LU gets more steam.
As a fellow 30-year fan of professional wrestling, I am also bored out of my mind and disgusted by the state of the business for the last 6-7 years, especially since 2011 when WWE royally fucked up the "Summer of Punk" angle. I'm barely hanging on by a thread to my faith in them... I gave up on TNA after they fucked up the Aces & 8s angle, and I never looked back. ROH is pretty much nonexistent, as far as I'm concerned. Lucha Underground is alright, but it clearly has a long way to go. GFW? Please... NXT seems to offer the slightest glimmer of hope, but not by that much. Wrestling is just garbage today, PERIOD!
Wasn't it just a few years ago or something people were saying there is way to much talking on RAW & not enough wrestling. Now it's not enough talking on RAW & way to much wrestling.... which is it?... WHICH IS IT!!?... AWWW GOD DAMMIT!!!
Man I respect you.i m 16 years old and I stopped watching raw and SmackDown ever since cm punk left.i prefer wrestling from 1998-2004.i tottlay agree with you👍
preach the truth brother. i´ve been baffled by the love nxt is getting and now people praising Cena. Just wow. Its like I have to say to them take Cena vs Owens and compare that to Bret Vs Stone Cold and then come back and tell me that is a 5 star match. they´ve got to be on drugs.
I don't watch Raw live (haven't in over a year now except for after Mania or a NY show) and when I get to watching it I finish in less than an hr because I Fast Forward all the trash. I don't watch TNA or ROH anymore (haven't watched in years besides a clip here and there) NXT I'll give them until early next year to get it back together because before Call Ups (Neville, Lucha Dragons, KO, and Now Sasha, Becky, Charlotte) plus Injuries (Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn, Bayley for a while, and Becky) They had multiple feuds for Tag Teams, Women, and then the NXT Championship, Then Neville, Zayn, Itami also had feuds along with Breeze. GFW? ROFL!!! Lucha Underground is legit the only product I enjoy right now. Different characters, styles, production, and story telling. And I speak Spanish so I understand the guys who don't speak English on the show. And the whole atmosphere is different and refreshing.
i sometimes enjoy ROH and NJPW ppv's, but hes pretty much telling the truth. Its all boring and not memorable stuff and WWE is just living off the mindless kids and their parents money not giving a fuck about the old fans. No real quality anywhere
ROH- is just a tryout for WWE look at Daniel Bryan/CM Punk etc TNA- is WCW 2.0 just waiting for someone to pull the plug GFW- that's dead before it got started WWE- it's been the Cena show for 10 years Lucha Underground- I love it. It's different NXT- as far as WWE goes it's the best thing WWE has going right now
I'm still really enjoying NXT, and have adored the short amount of Lucha Underground that I've seen so far. Safe to say I don't find wrestling boring at all. If wrestling fans like Schlegdaddy seriously can't find any enjoyment in any promotion right now, then that's their problem. Sure the wrestling industry is beyond frustrating and not every promotion has me won over; but I don't let that get in the way of the things that actually hold me as a fan. Whenever I get tired of all wrestling, I simply move away from it until my intrigue comes back. I can take wrestling seriously, but not that seriously.
100 % agree with everything this guy says. I'm actually beginning to think pro wrestling is a rotten carcass and is actually dead in all but it's loyal fans who have been hanging on for years for something genuinely great.
Wrestling is boring these days, most of the guys these days look like Walmart employees, I love when most of the wrestlers had characters, now you have a bunch of regular guys that don't even get push the right way, now the only time you can get hype is when one of these legends makes a surprise return, they don't take the time to push these guys, they have short runs, and then they get push back down to the mid card, in the future, who the hell is going to say " I can't wait to see Dean Andy return lol Ambrose whatever !
I still watch TNA because I promised myself that I would stick with it until it went under. I'm not gonna defend or talk about it anymore though. I just watch because it to see what happens. It's gotten pretty bad. The wrestling is still semi entertaining but, the booking and story telling is garbage. Also NXT does have stories which proves that you don't watch it. It has rivalries. They aren't just out there doing flips and kicks for no reason. I don't recall ever saying that Cena sucked in the ring. I've only ever been mad at his character and how he is booked to be the only truly dominant wrestler in WWE. I have just one question before I post this. How high were you in this video? Every WWE superstar is completely different in their own way. Loads of people wanna see lot of those guy's and you're blaming the fans for Brock Lesnar being around. No that is not why WWE brings in part timers. They only bring in part timers because the new guys as unique as they are get booked like shit.
I have replica belts of WWE and TNA also ROH I collect these because I'm a fan that being said showing up at a WWE event with an ROH belt would I piss people off or does it even matter. I'd appreciate anyone's opinion
Wrestling is Dead! Simple as that they lost all there star power and creativity. There is only so much they can do and so many stars they can make. No competition means No effort and innovation There will never be another hbk, edge, undertaker, rock, austin, jericho, etc Its played out and once you have watched for 3-5 yrs its gets old, predictable and repetitive. Waste of money and time. For all you over the age of 16 forget scripted bullshit and don't have you intelligence insulted! Watch a REAL sport MMA is the future.
I got into wrestling at the age of 4 around 1999/2000 which at the time was a TV14 product full of blood and guts and women flashing their tits all over the place. But I couldn't have cared less about those things, I was completely and utterly fixated on the characters! The Rock, Stone Cold, Mankind, Undertaker, Kane, Triple H, etc. I didn't care about kicks and flips and hundreds of false finishes, I just wanted to see the good guys beat the bad guys. So many fans nowadays obsess over the pure wrestling side of it, and complain that the promo segments are too long. No it's just the fact that they're the same old shit. For weeks on Raw we've had wrestling heavy shows that are just as bad, why? Because none of the matches progress storylines in any way! Promos are good! Wrestling is good! IF used correctly!!! I'm going to echo what a lot of people have already said, the only show that has interesting characters, storylines AND great wrestling is Lucha Underground!! For me, Ultima Lucha was show of the year and Vampiro vs Pentagon Jr is CLEARLY match of the year too!!! And now at the age of 20, I have a new found love of wrestling all because of that!
NXT is the only thing WWE produces worth watching now. The industry as a whole needs someone to inject some life into it. WWE is to blame for how boring the show is. I used to be pumped to watch Raw every Monday. Now, I couldn't care less. It's boring and almost every episode of Raw is exactly the same. The last championship reign that was actually tolerable and good was Punk's 434 day reign. And his reign ended over 2 years ago. WWE does not know how to create new stars. They've had lightning in a bottle many times and they've blown it because they have no clue what they are doing. I mean they have to resort to having Taker and Sting come back and wrestle. You know it's bad when you need to get two 50+ year old men to wrestle to gain some interest from people. But, who really wants to see Taker vs Brock for a third time or Sting wrestle ANYONE not named Undertaker? It's sad and pathetic. Their ratings once football comes back. They have guys on the roster that should be big stars but of course only 5 guys get booked decently. And that's why they are stuck in a rut. Dean Ambrose: Arguably the most over guy on the roster. Has been a singles wrestler for over a year and has no signature win or moment. He was red hot last year and played a cool loose cannon. Now, he's Roman Reigns weird sidekick and his segments and promos are more cringe worthy than good. Imagine him as the Intercontinental Champion while feuding with Kevin Owens. Cesaro: Finally has recovered from a horrible post WM 2014. But, because Vince thinks his accent will keep him from getting popular with fans; he'll never main event and will most likely waste away in mid card hell. Shame. He'd be a pretty good upper mid card face. Bray Wyatt: Never ending pointless feuds ever since losing to Cena last year. He hops from one feud to another and none of his feuds this year outside of the one with Taker made any sense. He was also red hot and probably would've moved a lot of merch. He should be the number one heel but instead he's used to make favored faces look good and gets booked strongly for a month or two only to lose the feud and wind up doing nothing. He's still under 30 so he has a few more years to pick it up but I doubt it. Roman Reigns: He has mega heel written all over him. He'd be PERFECT for being the Authority's hand picked champion. Instead WWE would rather try to make him some corny but somehow badass face. It makes no sense. He should be a heel right now. Not some boring and bland face that still isn't getting cheered like a soon to be top face should be getting cheered. He'll most likely get another big push when January hits and he'll flop again because WWE doesn't even care enough to develop the guy that's supposed to take over for John Cena. Seth Rollins: Why is he still the champion? He screams mid carder and he's been holding the top title in the industry for 5 months now. His promos are all the same. He's redundant. He's a heel yet he wrestles like a face. And, his booking is horrible. It makes no sense to constantly book him like a useless piece of flesh who can't win anything by himself and who loses regularly on Raw yet once it's ppv time, he can handle things once his backup gets knocked out and he's hard to beat. Makes no sense. Why book him to tap like a bitch on Raw and then have him kick out of 2 finishers on the ppv? His title reign has been horrible. I honestly feel that he's only still champion because they don't have any face wrestlers outside of Roman, Brock, and Cena who they would be willing to make champion and they aren't gonna put the belt on either of them unless it's a big ppv. Kevin Owens: He's been killing it ever since debuting and he should be the US Champion. He beats John Cena 100% clean in his debut match and it's like it never happened. That win should've made him a main eventer. Instead he loses the feud with Cena and he'll most likely be stuck in the mid card until Super Roman needs a fresh heel to beat next year. Why isn't he the US Champion? Why didn't he win the feud with Cena after beating him clean? Because the Cenation stopped buying as much Cena merch. That's right. A young and very talented guy gets his push halted because the guy he's feuding with's merch sales dipped a bit. This company. How bad is it that a wrestler's merchandise sales will dip if he's not winning all the time? These are just a few guys on the roster who are being misused and who should be bigger than they are. I have no sympathy for the WWE. I hope USA Network drops them but that won't happen. I never thought that the WWE would get so bad that not even the main event scene was interesting. I don't see how anyone manages to sit through Raw every single week. I can't even get through the opening promo.
I would like to respectfully disagree with the point "it's not always about the matches"! Would hulk hogan vs Andre be a great if they never had a match? Would undertaker be as popular as he is if he never had the WM streak? Would Goldberg be memorable if he never had a match? Would ric flair and steamboat still be a great feud if they never had a single match? Would dusty Rhodes be as legendary if he never had those brutal cage matches? Would mick foley be as legendary as he is without doing all the hardcore stuff? My point is, matches are actually the core of wrestling! C'mon, it's called "WRESTLING" for a reason. Just my thoughts!
+Dillon Hagget but would he be as popular/legendary without the streak? Think about it, one of the drawing points of WM is the taker match, and so,e fans only buy WM for the taker match!
Dillon Haggett how so? Who's to say he would even have his longevity if the streak matches had never occurred! For all we know, he could have retired about 10 or 15 years ago if he never had his streak matches. But thanks for being respectful about this, most people would have called me an "IWC", a "mark", or an "asshole" by this point!
One of your best videos this and the hogan videos are great. But man pro wrestling is boring now sometimes IDC if I miss a week anymore. That's sad nothing has kept me invested I just tune in because I watched it since I was 3. When you run out of topics just talk about the world and life and shit going on other than wrestling like u do on schlegdaddy tv
Pro wrestling's just not the thing right now. The casual fan would rather see guys in UFC where they are killing each other. Rhoda Rousey is that mainstream badass. Maybe wrestling will come back and someone will lead that pack, but it's not anytime soon.
Professional Wrestling Is So Freaking Boring Now! - I said that One Year ago and stopped watching Wrestling matches in WWE and in other feds . I watch the highlights of the shows , but not full shows , cause everything in pro wrestling looks predictable and boring .
Pro Wrestling has been boring since 2001, then again maybe we've all grown out of our childhood. The Wrestler's are all the same, the personalities are all the same. The writing sucks, the guys don't sell. There are no major stars outside Brock Lesnar, and John Cena (and I don't consider John Cena major (crossover star), nobody stands out.
thank u for that input on roh!! finally someone who agrees that thought there roster is talented there product as a whole is WAY too niche and as such very unappealing. did they make a quick move and make tna look like chumps with the tv deal? sure.. but there product isnt in any better of standing than impact on a creative end, at least in my view.
it's been ok recently, but I've been only watching bits and pieces of RAW. so I don't know the feeling that you guys get if you're watching all 3 hours.
I miss everything before 2007 in WWE. There is nothing good about the current product except Brock Lesnar whos not even fucking there every week. It does suck i agree.
I watched every raw for 10 years straight. But the last few months, I've been missing Raws and not caring. It's just gotten so boring. For me, since CM Punk left, I haven't had a true favorite wrestler. It's just gotten boring
You're really ignorant on RoH. They rarely if ever do hardcore matches (ECW and CZW were all about hardcore). You do not see ladders, tables, lightbulbs, etc often at all in RoH. You might see a guy use a wrench used to tighten turnbuckles to cheat as a heel recently, but that is it. Moose does not look like anyone you described in RoH, he is a freaking huge black dude (former NFL player) with immense talent. False finishes are more common in WWE now. RoH is shit compared to Lucha Underground as far as storytelling (everyone is shit story wise compared to LU). NXT has fallen off in some respects by losing their better talent to the main roster (Sasha Banks, Owens, etc). TNA is pretty bland and mediocre, but has good in ring work, so I can see your point about that being boring.
RandomUser179 He's basically referring to the time when Davey Richards was on top and had a 40 minute match with Eddie Edwards where they kicked, punched and dropped moves on each other with no story or selling at all. That has been his feeling on ROH ever since.
TheGochiMan I grew up in the 80s and loved that era, but it did not have good storytelling or really good in ring work... it just had really extreme characters that were designed to appeal to children.
RandomUser179 And I agree with you 100%......a lot of ROH fans didn't even like that match so they mostly agreed......one match does not define a promotion.
You're entire video is based off the WWE being horrible. You don't watch other promotions, i don't find NJPW,STARDOM,TNA,RoH, or other indies boring. This is classic WWE fanboy mentality where they blanket the entire state of wrestling based off the WWE.
GuyOnInternetWhoDoesntLieForViews he said he dont care about PURE wrestling, other company beside TNA have no story at all, its just wrestling which is boring
trahapace150 LOL, that's exactly how fanboys work. They talk and bash things they don't watch, while praising the thing they like. IE WWE & yes he does kinda bash WWE but he still puts them on a pedestal
Still no real idea of how ROH "is an imitation of ECW". How?? They are, overall, different products. ROH HAS carved it's own niche & identity over the years (since early on in it's history, actually) and been moderately successful at it in their own right! Now, that identity & style they represent and even symbolize may not appeal to you, and that's ok; but don't imply they've been nor are a rip-off or imitation, because it is in no way true.
Lucha Underground is awesome, New Japan, NXT. WWE and TNA are just not doing it and I'm hot and cold on ROH. ROH is just straight wrestling, not much storylines, and it's an acquired taste, though some of their old stuff is pretty cool.
You continue to watch wrestling for the same reason I do... you hope the glory days will return. At this point I'm just waiting for Vince McMahon to kick the bucket because between his out of touch mind and trying to make WWE look like the most politically correct family friendly children's show to make Linda McMahon look good, professional wrestling doesn't stand a chance of making a grand return
well at least football is starting again so we can watch something satisfying. whats funny is that a boring football game will still garner more ratings than RAW.
teamoutrage1 nobody knows how to bring ratings back up or make wrestling popular again. Getting rid of PG won't work because if the WWE does anything remotely adult related, people will complain about it. It takes more than just have your favorite win and it will make the product better. It's easy to complain about the WWE or pro wrestling, but if no one has a real solution, then all we are doing is whining and bitching.
Shleg maybe you should just take a break from watching wrestling for a while and every once in a while if you look at stuff from social media pertaining to professional wrestling that interest's you then give it another shot, or if you still wat to talk about wrestling watch some of the classic stuff on wwe network and do some retro reviews again, but perhaps you should take a long break till wrestlemania season after summerslam
i am smarter than all of you because i stopped watching wrestling during the mid 90's around the time the bullshit attitude era was starting because i could see where it was heading. the bullshit attitude era was the worst thing that ever happened and an admission of lack of talent because they had to resort to the lowest and sleaziest level of entertainment to survive. wrestling sold its soul back then and has never been able to recover its glorious and charismatic wrestlers because of the bullshit attitude era.
See that's my point. The two promotions that are red hot and are doing something interesting with their characters and storytelling he's conveniently not watching. I can forgive not watching Lucha Underground as its hard to come by the El Ray Network but to stay silent on NJPW (where wrestlers DO have main stream appeal in Japan and are stars) is just ludicrous.
All the indie fans say that there favorite product isn't boring but if it wasn't then why hasn't it become the biggest wrestling company right now. News travels fast so true wrestling fans will support real wrestling. And real wrestling isn't just wrestling. It's every aspect of the company. The wrestling, the storytelling/characters, etc. Every time the indie fans say there company is great, they usually say the wrestling is great. Not the storylines and characters or other things just the in ring work. All in all wrestling is not as good anymore as a whole.
GameBoi36 And that's Lucha Undergound, it has great storytelling and characters. It's got a whole new fresh approach to wrestling by instead of presenting it like a sport it presents it's more like a TV Show. And it may not be the biggest show but that's got more to do with the number of people able to get it . Pretty much everyone who has seen it have fallen in love with it, even non wrestling fans.
GameBoi36 The WWE hasn't had great storytelling in years outside of a few bright spots.......I don't know where everybody believes that the WWE knows how to do storytelling in the wrestling business. I'll give you a great storyline from ROH that happened several years ago: you have two guys (Jimmy Jacobs & BJ Whitmer) who were a unlikely duo and they went on to become a popular tag team. However, things changed when a girl (Lacey) decided to be their manager and just like Yoko Ono, she started coming in between them. Jacobs was ga-ga in love with her, to the point where it was costing them matches. Eventually, BJ turned babyface on Jimmy (they turned heel after Lacey became their manager) and the two kickstarted a very violent feud that went on for over a year with Jimmy trying to cause bodily harm to BJ Whitmer and anybody who helped him, all to earn the love of Lacey and losing his innocence and good-hearted nature in the process to become some little emo kid with a blood lust. Jacobs beat BJ in a Cage match to finally end the feud and he got what he wanted: the chance to sleep with Lacey and she fell in love with him........only, afterwards, he didn't feel the same way anymore. It went on from there with him forming a group of outcasts to try and take over ROH but this whole character arc of Jacobs took place over a span of 4 years to when he left ROH in 2009 and it was one of the most compelling stories and characters arcs in wrestling history. That's just one storyline........other promotions have had better characters, character arcs, storylines and feuds moreso than the WWE........the WWE just gets the most attention and therefore, we believe that the other promotions don't know how to do it.
Jared Doucet Did you just say in history??? Wtf? ROH storylines aren't really good. That's not even what they are really known for. That story sounds boring. Especially if you are saying best in history
GameBoi36 i just gave your dumb ass an example of a great wrestling angle and a feud that has great matches, great drama, great character development.....everything you need to have for a great story. Its anything better than what the fucking WWE has done in the past few years. Plus ROH is well known for its characters, feuds and angles......only fucking WWE kissasses would believe that angle is boring or that ROH is nothing but five star matches. Give me an angle ir story better than that.....i bet you cant
Jonathan Oosthuis Lucha Underground I will say is different. If the Lucha styled wrestling didn't feel a little choreographed, it would definitely be really good.
Too much wrestling? Well tell that to Japan and Mexico. They put on nothing but good wrestling matches and still sell out buildings. I think wrestling is boring right now because there is no good stories. Storytelling is good and everything but I feel people overrate it. Wrestling is a sport and it can't be about the match up? That is what PBC does. They make it about the matches. They give you some story but not all the time. Gotta remember what you are watching.
Has wrestling been better? Yes. Does todays product leave me somewhat unsatisfied? Yes. But i wouldn't say it's boring...if i thought it was boring, i wouldn't whine about it, i would just not watch it. I mean why watch something that you think is just boring?
I'm probably beating a dead horse judging by the comments section but why not lucha underground? they have a clear identity and direction - an episodic drama show about wrestling, they have a loaded roster of character each has a uniqe gimmick and or look, story lines are strong and production is top notch. why are you ignoring it? give it a shot, talk about it once and bam! not only did you try something new and fresh but also found something to spice things up on your channel. just do it man!
to each is their own but then again there is more alternatives pro wrest promotions gaining mainstream exposure than ever before.. so many different avenues for you to find what you enjoy about Pro Wrest..from PWG,Lucha Underground, NJPW, ROH, etc.. the issues why Pro Wrest specially mainstream wrestling i.e. WWE is because the OLD Heads are holding on to their glory days & have no creative wits to create something fresh brand new & unique! You have WWE lost in the sauce & other promotions look up to the WWE blueprint in attempts to gain exposure when in reality it just won't work.
Lucha Underground is better than NXT in basically every single way imaginable... same with WWE. LU is shitting on them all with what could be viewed as lesser talent. It is the vignettes shot by a talented production crew that push it above the rest along with ridiculous matches that build up feuds and tell actual stories about the people involved. WWE is crap, big and bloated. NXT is a farm system with some good talent. Finn Balor is soft spoken and not loud enough to hear what the hell he is saying most of the time. He is above average for his size in the ring and does a good job at getting reactions from the crowd. You have not seen his heel work in NJPW as Devitt obviously.... it was racist though.. but he definitely got the heat, and I believe he could do the same in WWE with his cocky arrogant attitude as a heel.. even without resorting to outright racism to get heat.
If you don't like it, why don't you create your own company? Enlighten us on how a wrestling company should be if you complain with everything. Just because some people like some here and there from any company, that doesn't mean they're stupid and whatnot.
I'm all for criticizing a product for being boring and repetitive. As fans that's our right. The PG-E is literally the same shit different day. But this guy is ridiculous when he starts commenting on ring ability like he's an expert. 🤣 None of us have any idea how to put on a match or perform to an audience. This is the problem with the "keyboard warrior" generation. Everyone talks so much shit and thinks they're an expert. When in reality they would get their ass beat if they tried it outside their house.
I've been watching wrestling just as long as you have my friend...and while you make great points and I can truly see where you're coming from....I still love the product today...you can call me a mindless robot all you want but I still love the product wwe gives me....was it better in the mid 80's, the attitude era and so forth, i'd say yes but I still like it today....I watch weekly and am still happy and still enjoy myself watching it....so while I completely understand where you're coming from, I don't fully agree, I think it's all subjective....I honestly don't believe it's boring at all....but that's just me
This just in: Man on internet calls modern professional wrestling bad.
News at eleven.
Sid I am a fan of CM Puke. Lol
Sid Fuck off you troll
Dillon Haggett What happened here?
+Dillon haggett i didn't know being # factual was trolling sir .
Lucha Underground exists
Yes until Univision gets bored with them and pull the plug on them.
+Jean Carlos Vazquez Marcano el rey network u mean
FightOwensFight K.O. yes but that channel belongs to Univision.
Luis Roulette The Shield?
KalvinEllis Are you serious? Why none of the guys from The Shield main eveinting Summerslam then? 2 of the guys are on tag match that means absolute 0 and Rollins is going to get buried by the guy that didn't allow any star to be made for 10 years.
Luis Roulette Are you not entertained? LOL. I just had to do that. I completely agree with you
manof1005holds HAHAHAHA. That was pretty good.
Luis Roulette
And what if he doesn't?
Top 5 ways to improve WWE Raw:
Maybe. Bold? I think so.
NXT - To paraphrase a tagline from an old cartoon series, "if they're the future... wrestling is history!"
And those are my thoughts on the wrestling companies. Thank you for reading.
"Wait, you forgot about WWE".
No I didn't... SMH no I didn't.
The last episode of lucha libre was the best show I have seen in a long time. The main event was the best match I have seen in the past few years. Give it a look.
What was the main event?
AK47Gang100
Prince Puma Vs. Mil Muertes
Dominic rocco If you mean Lucha Underground I agree.
yes, sorry
best wrestling discussion video in a long ass time.
amen to everything you said brother.
nxt is overrated as fuck, the characters have NO depth or complexity whatsoever to them.
Professional wrestling isnt boring...only wwe is
Professional wrestling as a whole is boring.
lol. I love that comment.
GameBoi36 😂😂
And wwe isn't professional wrestling...it's sports entertainment which makes the topic of this video completely false.
he mentioned all of those in this video lol
You know wrestling is so boring, when I dont watch Raw anymore. When Summerslam is coming, and I find it hard to click the freaking download torrent because I'm afraid I will go through hours of boredom, also when i watch TNA, and I am passing out on the couch, then I remember it's a so called 'PPV' but I cant remember the matches or who won. It really sucks bad.
I haven't watched WWE at all since early 2014, and I don't give them 1 dime of my money.
When you say biased dirt sheets, you mean people who don't blindly kiss TNA's ass.
Cody Fortier no i mean biased dirt sheets for example PWMania, posted a story titled TNA ratings down, did RoH's new timeslot help them. In the article TNA had 327K whereas RoH had 157K, TNA had the better ratings but was made to look like it didn't get ratings
***** EXACTLY
WWE and TNA are boring. ROH can be boring. NXT isn't boring. Lucha Underground sure as fuck isn't boring. PWG isn't boring.
Eonizzle You'll notice that Lucha was not mentioned like the other companies. They try to be original and I salute them for that.
Eonizzle I agree.
Wrestling is just garbage today, PERIOD!
reason wrestling is boring is because kayfabe is just about dead.
NXT and Lucha Underground SUCK too. Smarks OVER RATE the fuck out of them.
I don't watch Raw live (haven't in over a year now except for after Mania or a NY show) and when I get to watching it I finish in less than an hr because I Fast Forward all the trash.
I don't watch TNA or ROH anymore (haven't watched in years besides a clip here and there)
NXT I'll give them until early next year to get it back together because before Call Ups (Neville, Lucha Dragons, KO, and Now Sasha, Becky, Charlotte) plus Injuries (Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn, Bayley for a while, and Becky) They had multiple feuds for Tag Teams, Women, and then the NXT Championship, Then Neville, Zayn, Itami also had feuds along with Breeze.
GFW? ROFL!!!
Lucha Underground is legit the only product I enjoy right now. Different characters, styles, production, and story telling. And I speak Spanish so I understand the guys who don't speak English on the show. And the whole atmosphere is different and refreshing.
The only profession wrestling company that is SO boring is WWE. I prefer TNA, Ring of Honor, and other professional wrestling companies.
i sometimes enjoy ROH and NJPW ppv's, but hes pretty much telling the truth. Its all boring and not memorable stuff and WWE is just living off the mindless kids and their parents money not giving a fuck about the old fans. No real quality anywhere
ROH- is just a tryout for WWE look at Daniel Bryan/CM Punk etc
TNA- is WCW 2.0 just waiting for someone to pull the plug
GFW- that's dead before it got started
WWE- it's been the Cena show for 10 years
Lucha Underground- I love it. It's different
NXT- as far as WWE goes it's the best thing WWE has going right now
BVIPER 24 AMEN. Brotha PREACH!! What Do U Think About Jeff Jarret's Comments About There's Another Wrestling Boom Period Coming??
Lucha underground /nxt are the top shows to watch. This week's ultimate lucha event was a Hardcore fans dream show
Wrestling is boring these days, most of the guys these days look like Walmart employees, I love when most of the wrestlers had characters, now you have a bunch of regular guys that don't even get push the right way, now the only time you can get hype is when one of these legends makes a surprise return, they don't take the time to push these guys, they have short runs, and then they get push back down to the mid card, in the future, who the hell is going to say " I can't wait to see Dean Andy return lol Ambrose whatever !
I know how you feel. I may check out of the wrestling world soon.
They only bring in part timers because the new guys as unique as they are get booked like shit.
rebal180 Well said man, Jeff was clearly under the influence of something while he was doing the vid.
TNA has stories, as well (as does ROH), and I don't see how you find them (the majority, at least) to be "garbage"; but oh, well..
Are you Vince Russo?
Wrestling died in 1989
Omg when was the last time when all the competitors in the wrestlemania main event were full timers??? Wm 27
Taker would still be popular regardless of the Streak.
+Dillon Hagget but would he be as popular/legendary without the streak? Think about it, one of the drawing points of WM is the taker match, and so,e fans only buy WM for the taker match!
Botchamania JEEZUS No, but he would still be an incredibly over performer.
Lucha is currently the best promotion at the minute. If you want actual pro wrestling with stories its the best promotion
Who's Harlie? Is that the name of the pen behind your ear?
Ambrose is our savior #PushAmbrose
You ought to watch the Smarkbusters weekly reviews. I think you would get a good appreciation for their hatred of the current WWE product
Pro wrestling's just not the thing right now. The casual fan would rather see guys in UFC where they are killing each other. Rhoda Rousey is that mainstream badass. Maybe wrestling will come back and someone will lead that pack, but it's not anytime soon.
UFC and Boxing is more relevant then WWE
Is he trying to tell ace a how to do his own finishing maneuver ? 😑
only wrestling i watch is njpw, roh, and lucha underground. those are the best thing going now for me.
Most of the match of the year candidates are Cena matches
Have you been watching lucha underground?
Finn balor's probably drinks benadryl during his promos, even he is bored by himself.
it's been ok recently, but I've been only watching bits and pieces of RAW. so I don't know the feeling that you guys get if you're watching all 3 hours.
I like lucha underground, i hope they get a season 2
make a 20 reasons why WWE RAW Sucks
I miss everything before 2007 in WWE. There is nothing good about the current product except Brock Lesnar whos not even fucking there every week. It does suck i agree.
I watched every raw for 10 years straight. But the last few months, I've been missing Raws and not caring. It's just gotten so boring. For me, since CM Punk left, I haven't had a true favorite wrestler. It's just gotten boring
xxmoran92 You're not missing anything man.
well wwe is like watching a show for kids only...the other wrestling promotions is like watching average guys try to wrestle!
He's an 80s mark.
RandomUser179 He's basically referring to the time when Davey Richards was on top and had a 40 minute match with Eddie Edwards where they kicked, punched and dropped moves on each other with no story or selling at all. That has been his feeling on ROH ever since.
Jared Doucet Generalizing based on that one match and saying that represents the entire company still to this day is extremely ignorant.
Angry old man is a angry.
How about Lucha Underground? I find great wrestling, adult-oriented and ENTERTAINING.
If he was a fanboy he wouldn't be bashing it, that's not how
" fanboys" work.
trahapace150 LOL, that's exactly how fanboys work. They talk and bash things they don't watch, while praising the thing they like. IE WWE & yes he does kinda bash WWE but he still puts them on a pedestal
Simply The Best
Just wrestling in what is supposed a wrestling show is boring...what kind of logic is that...
GuyOnInternetWhoDoesntLieForViews
Don't forget about Lucha Underground, my g.
Hey you should make a video what professional wrestling needs to do to improve and bring back ratings
I think they need to get rid of the PG bull shit
teamoutrage1 nobody knows how to bring ratings back up or make wrestling popular again.
Lucha Underground and NJPW invest tons of time in their character work and storylines.
Funny how you don't mention those.
GForce4 That would defeat his point and he hasn't watched them
See that's my point.
GForce4 i agree
Wwe needs to get back to creating larger than life characters
im guessing u have never watched lucha underground
He's not gonna watch lucha. He's said it before that he likes what they do cause it feels new and different but he doesn't have el rey to watch it.
and btw God help those poor souls who still think NXT is good
I think you're describing ROH 5-7 years ago. They don't do long matches with false finishes as much.
Two words Lucha Underground
to each is their own but then again there is more alternatives pro wrest promotions gaining mainstream exposure than ever before.. so many different avenues for you to find what you enjoy about Pro Wrest..from PWG,Lucha Underground, NJPW, ROH, etc..
the issues why Pro Wrest specially mainstream wrestling i.e. WWE is because the OLD Heads are holding on to their glory days & have no creative wits to create something fresh brand new & unique! You have WWE lost in the sauce & other promotions look up to the WWE blueprint in attempts to gain exposure when in reality it just won't work.
Well I'm happy with my PWG and NJPW.
I like NXT and Finn Balor
Did you see Ultima Lucha? It will change your opinion real fast
i agree with almost everything he says but wow....this guy sure goes on a tangent. holy cow.
26 seconds ago, fuck yes. Awesome video as usual, Jeff.
Lucha underground rocks check it out hopefully season 2 comming out soon
If you don't like it, why don't you create your own company? Enlighten us on how a wrestling company should be if you complain with everything.
Just because some people like some here and there from any company, that doesn't mean they're stupid and whatnot.
Simon Nader does he have the money? NO! Creating a wrestling promotion takes a lot of investments and money to sign rosters, hire personnels, etc.
If you actually... go to the indies its entertaining as hell here in florida lol.
NXT has been on a decline, it's not entertaining anymore, it's a ROH rip off and the fan are annoying
Does he like anything?
me and you shelgdaddy like the same thing
we dont like only wrestling or shows with only wrestling and no story
shit sucks
I've been watching wrestling just as long as you have my friend...and while you make great points and I can truly see where you're coming from....I still love the product today...you can call me a mindless robot all you want but I still love the product wwe gives me....was it better in the mid 80's, the attitude era and so forth, i'd say yes but I still like it today....I watch weekly and am still happy and still enjoy myself watching it....so while I completely understand where you're coming from, I don't fully agree, I think it's all subjective....I honestly don't believe it's boring at all....but that's just me
