So much of dragon ball Z is Goku not being dead, or off training. So much of dragon ball super is a louder, stupider, way less enjoyable Goku. So having a more OG DB Goku to go on silly adventures with is gonna be great

In fairness, there is no "dragonball Z is different from OG Dragonball." The manga is just Dragonball. All the way up to Buu saga and the famous "end of Z" chapter. The Z was just something they added in the English dubs in the anime when the saiyan saga began. They even added the Z to some of the re-released versions of the manga later on because of how popular the anime had become by then. Hot take, I don't ascribe to the "goku was stupider in super" idea. Infact, I felt that Super was more in line with Toriyamas earlier writing in how he depicted goku. He's a country bumpkin. Hence the accent, and he's incredibly naive and ignorant in many ways, despite being able to lock in when thing get serious. Goku once thought Bulmas lips were bleeding because he didn't know what lipstick was. And he was an adult by then. And that was "OG" Dragonball. I'm excited for what they've set up here. I wish fans would stop this nonsense about which dragonball is the most dragonball of dragonball, especially since only one iteration of Dragonball was not actually written by Toroyama, that being....GT. Just food for thought.
