I only watched some Toonami when I was a kid, but by the time I lost Cartoon Network and other cable channels when moving to East Modesto, I had to find other sources of entertainment. The closure of Vortexx on the CW is what made me want to get into more anime-related activities. In my senior year of high school, I set up an unofficial anime club, but the viewership dwindled by the time I took off Sonic X from the lineup. Also, restrictions from my resources teacher are what hindered my viewing experience; I had to resort to using headphones or subtitled programming. Long before Vortexx's closure, I checked out Toonami on adult swim when it came back in 2012, but I didn't get to appreciate it until I graduated from high school. I kept watching the block as I worked on my laundry, and the only series that got me hooked for the most part are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Mob Psycho 100. I kept checking back on Toonami to make sure they got more seasons of these series, but all they did was add Golden Wind at the cost of getting rid of Boruto. As for Mob Psycho 100, they only reran season 1 in 2020, but they never had the chance to air seasons 2 and 3. Even worse, Toonami didn't have the effort to bring back Boruto after finishing Naruto Shippuden in 2024. All this led to hosting live-streams on Tumblr and Twitch since July 9, 2023, and they served as "alternate reality" Toonami lineups in a way, swapping out programs I don't really like for ones that Toonami should have acquired. Not only that, Pokémon's first anime series was coming to an end that year, and the Galar region seasons never aired on an American TV network, so I had to take over with the Pokémon Journeys and Master Journeys live-streams on weekend mornings, usually played after the hour of educational and informational (E/I) programming. I moved the block to Saturday mornings in January 2024 when I bought the Naruto Shippuden DVDs needed to live-stream the English-dubbed episodes ahead of the Toonami broadcasts. This had to be done to allow most families and households to be given a chance to watch my live-streams at reasonable times. Saturday nights and Sunday mornings don't seem to be right, as there are families that have strict curfews that prevent select family members from watching late at night, and some families have to go to church the morning after, which is a contributing factor to missing out on Toonami's programming. So basically, my anime block live-streams are basically "Toonami for Christians", except the majority of the programs are religion-neutral. Since Tumblr discontinued their live-streaming platform, I currently live-stream on Twitch every Saturday morning at 8:00 AM / 7:00 AM Central & Pacific, counting E/I programming. As of this comment, my programs on Saturday mornings include Dr.STONE (E/I), Laid-Back Camp (E/I), SONIC X, KEY THE METAL IDOL (edited for content), X-MEN, STREET FIGHTER, GHOST STORIES, Boruto, Hi Score Girl and Rent-a-Girlfriend. I started including spin-off blocks since last year, and the current one I have is the Saturday night #MoreOneNight block, where I throw in all the "essential" cartoons to a safe place just in case other DJs or lineups take over my Twitch channel's Saturday morning timeslots. I have prepared an upcoming filler arc for this Spring, so don't be afraid when you tune in to my Twitch channel then. I call my weekend anime block live-stream series #ToonTimeTheater. Honestly I think the problem is more with the adaptation than the actual source material.

The only thing that's super unrealistic about the show is the game getting funding to keep running the servers.... One guy having control over all of that is so fucking unrealistic, and keeping it running with god knows what money for 2 fucking years is even more so.

The people that have grown up with Toonami in the 90’s/early 2000’s want adult Swim’s Toonami block to start at an earlier time so they can at least be able to stay up to watch their favorite shows for example did you know that the Toonami Midnight block is starting to show the viz dub of sailor moon starting January 25 at 3:00am now let me see a show of hands of the fucking people that stay up till 3:00 am in the fucking morning………. NO ONE!!!!!!!!

Legitimately there was a scene in the manga where luffy was on Amazon Lilly where one of the Amazonians tried ripping it off and it just stretched, oh and ace’s you know is made of fire, and it’s confirmed that him and Yamato got up to some mischief so yeah

Aincrad: 9/10 Fairy Dance: (2nd half of s1):7/10 (ill explain) Phantom Bullet: 8/10 Mothers Rosario:9.5/10 Ordinal Scale: 9/10 Alicization:9/10 War of the underworld: 9/10 The reason why I say all of the arcs are 8s or 9’s is just because of the stories being told are that good, and how throughout that whole time, asuna and kiritos bond just grows more, and more, and more both online and irl, and they also get closer to their friends as well. Fairy Dance (2nd half of s1) is the outlier and let me explain. Yes, the complexity of Suguha and Kirito was weird, but once you get past that, youd realize that the story is good, and no, Asuna wasnt a damsel in distress, in the beginning yes, she cried for kirito to come save her, because remember, she was 17, having some fucking creep all over her, touching her and making her uncomfortable, and she didnt even know if kirito was even alive. We see her overcome those fears and attempt to breakout multiple times. Even finding out Kirito was there to save her, found a way to still help him and everything. Fairy Dance as an arc is overhated

I think it holds up very well. Of course not as a AAA title, it's way too short for that. But I can see this still being attractive at a reasonable price point.
