What an unexpectedly beautiful video and amazing collection/display of EP’s! I just purchased my first EP today after spotting it picking up groceries. I have a small collection of succulents and had never seen this echeveria variety until today. I could easily fill a shelf with several of your varieties. I much enjoyed listening to you talk about all the variations and about where they came from. That white Korean beauty.... ooohf!
I have a little echeveria that I think might be a purpusorum hybrid, but it's a much more intense green color with red edges that show up if it gets quite a lot of sun (unfortunately mine are under grow lights so they don't have the red). I'd love to breed them some day honestly but I don't have an outdoor space and live in a cold area so can't keep them out year-round
Love Echeveria purpusorum! I have a number of the normal and the white form of Echeveria purpusorum. i got them at the same time but the white form plant doesn't seem to do well for some reasons (slow growing, leaf is not firming up). Would love to get some growing tips from you. thanks in advance
I'm not from australia, but i hope one day to be able to visit your Green House and see much more of the cactuses & succulents!! ❤️❤️🙏🏻 *If possible when there's no covid Btw, do you sell the plants? Can it be shipped or not? 😄😊
I have an Echeveria Perle von Nurnberg (nice purple small popular variety) that I inadvertently overwatered last year and it protested, dropping a few bottom petals (leaves), so I thought I'd use the opportunity to propagate it. But I haven't had any success. 😕 Now it just looks like a purple flower on a stem with a few surviving petals remaining, but plump and healthy. At least I learned a lesson at the expense of almost killing it: When it comes to water, easy does it! Now, armed with info like the stuff of your videos, I have new confidence I CAN propagate it after all! P.S. I used rooting powder on the part that was attached to the stem and still no action. Maybe they had been given the death knell and were worthless after all, who knows?
The trick is the way you remove the leaf from the stem. a gentle sideways movement so a little of the stem is still attached. Then, let the leaf cutting callus over. James does not use rooting powder, I will ask him about this.
Personally I don't like the look of cheveria purpusorum but it's just so stunning what kind of veriaties are possible. I always marvel at plants and their capability to be so unique while at the same time offer the possibility to just clone them and have hundreds of the same mother plant.
We do agree, with the huge variety of Echeveria, some we love, other like, others SO SO. However, when we look at what is popular, we are not always on the mark. eg, we really like E cante. but its a big one and not so popular.... more coming on echeveria soon....
Very interesting question, not that we know about, however we would be very interested to find out. The love of plants should have no borders.... We will research this....
I love you youtube channel so much! But could you maybe be more active too in Instagram?, Maybe if i could give a little opinion, put much more videos of the cactuses or succulents too in instagram, 😊😄🙏🏻 Or maybe a little tour through your lovely Green House too perhaps! ❤️✨ Btw, i loooveee loveeee the crassula family in one of your utube videos before!! ❤️ Would love to see more of those too if possible!! And how to propagate it
I had been told that Purpusorum doesn't grow fom leaves, but you proved wrong! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Maga, they can be difficult, however the do grow from leaves....
