  • Echeveria agavoides also known as Molded Wax Agave is a beautiful succulent plant that is also quite easy to care for and propagate. Agavoides has many forms and varieties that can differ slightly in size, shape and colour.
In this video we’ll have a look at how to care for Echeveria agavoides, including the best position, watering, temperature tolerance and type of potting media it prefers.
When it comes to propagating Echeveria agavoides I’ll demonstrate how to separate offsets, leaves and top in case of solitary rosettes.
Just like many succulents, agavoides is not immune to pests and is a good host for a score of pests.

Thankyou for the video. I find them a bit finicky and lost quite a few in the early days. Have not been successful in leaf propogation. Hope to grow them to a fair size so i can experiment with head chopping them.

Yeah, they can be a bit of a hit and miss. I have about 15 different agavoides and half are easy, while the other half pain in the backside. I can grow some from leaf without an issue, but others rarely come up. One of my first (super cringe) videos were on propagating Echeveria agavoides Rubin from leaf and i think that sums it up- only a couple out of 50 leaves made it 😅😅 Best of luck- hope they'll grow well for you

I'll try and pin a comment with the names later on. Some don't have names though as they haven't been assigned one- they are just a number (eg Echeveria agavoides no 46.) so may not be able to name all of them.🙂💚

Some grow from leaf pretty well, but others don't- a real hit & miss. If you're going to try wait until spring and dry the plant out first. The leaves come off easier when dry. Good luck 🙂
