Heartbreaking but doesn't seem to be the end of the world. Funny that you started it before recognizing what happened. So lucky that the oxygen ran out and things didn't keep burning to the point of explosion!
Once you clean and replace things, it'll just add to the nostalgia of this truck's history for you. IMO these trucks shouldn't be owned and driven by people who don't love the world out of them and will devote themselves to their maintenance (as illogical and irrational and expensive as it is). It irks me to see those who buy it with an ego and then dump it when something stops working or worse, drives it into the ground like it's destined to be a piece of crap.
I just redid the timing on my giverney green 2005 after my guides broke, with the help of your P0011 video (I also had the codes after rebuild and bought the spacer to be on the safe side) and it's so satisfying to have this vehicle that I don't simply own, but now is 'mine'. It still drives because of me and my dad's help and no one else. It's no longer just a random truck on the road.
Sounds like your truck's been saved from many things and this one might take some time, but here's to your journey getting it back on the road!

Thank you so much for your comment. I'm happy to hear that you were able to redo your guides and that my vids helped.
It bothers me too when other owners abandon perfectly fine vehicles that just need a little TLC.
For me, I wear age of the vehicle and total mileage on the odometer as a badge of pride and honor. I'm looking forward to getting to 200k miles with Rover 2!

If you'd edit your videos a bit more fun, your channel could grow pretty good. You've got pretty interessant content, keep it up!

Please be extremely careful when you are touching any of the burnt wiring harness. There are some very carcinogenic chemicals that are released when the plastics and insulation catch fire. Please do not underestimate how dangerous this can be..

Thank you so much for your comment. Today, we'll be removing all of the burnt parts and will don full PPE (organic respirators, gloves, eye protection). Really appreciate you. Kudos

Car is totaled. What other option is there…

Not totaled. Soft interior parts can/will be replaced or reupholstered, and direct fire damaged parts will be changed. I’ve already got the parts on the way.
