The freezer you did your Macerating, what does that heat lamp keep the temperature at? I soak dead heads to get the skin off, but I finish mine by boiling them. The macerating looked really good. May give that a try on the next one.
Brother, that is a lot of information and knowledge to have in your job. I have a friend that does that and also boils them outside in a large vat with just water.
I bought some dental tools for cleaning/whitening deer skulls to pull off the sinue. My mistake has been not pre soaking long enough which you answered in this vid so thankyou!
Found a nasty 1. What happens if you start the masceration process with the hide still on? Will it eventually detach itself?. Just don't know if my stomach can do it. It's embarrassing I know but I can't help the dry heaves.
When You Are Done Staining The Horns Are They Ever Shiny? I’ve Tried To Touch Up The Base Of Some & They Always Turn Out Shiny, Not Matching The Rest Of The Horns
That is normal. If you take a wire brush and gently brush the horns where the stain was applied, it will knock the shine off. You won't be able to tell. Just make sure you do it once the stain is completely dry. Otherwise you will sling stain everywhere.
I have a nice buck my dad found dead that I want to European mount. Unfortunately he cut the head off and hung it in a tree for a few months thinking nature would take its course. Now it’s been mummified and has been sitting in a wood shed for almost 2 years. What would happen if I just boiled that mummified head?
We just did this and put it on a old barn door and put LED lights on it! But it was a deer my husband shot two years ago we kept it in our freezing and then we boiled it in hot water.
Thank you!! I’m working two dead heads right now and this helped so much
👍👍
Great video!!

Another great video! Just got a old head and it's in the water now for a week. God it's going to stink! Wish me luck

I honestly have never checked the temp but I'm guessing it's in the upper 90's or low 100's.

Nice, it turned out pretty good. Got a bunch of coyote skulls in buckets myself right now.
Awesome! Hope they turn out good.
Thanks!
Awesome job brother 👍
Thank you!
Thanks for this video.
When you use the peroxide can you reuse it? Keep adding skulls to the pot for whitening
Yes, but after 2-3 uses it will loose its potency.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Your question is answered in the video...
Great videos man! What’s the best name tags to put on the skulls to keep up with owners? Do you keep them on while pressure washing?
Yes I keep them on the whole time.
These are pricey but the best we have found.

@@OurTopPinLife thank you brother, keep that content coming!
I may have missed it, but how much peroxide and whitening did you put in during the simmering process?
Straight 20 volume liquid after the initial simmer
Do you no longer use the paste method ? you bow boil with the peroxide ?
We use paste mostly. But do use liquid for hogs and for dead heads
Ok thanks man ! Love your work

Can you do this with older deadheads that already have most of the hide off of them??
Yes, sometimes they don't whiten as easy as a fresh head but it can be done.
Do you glue the teeth in if they fall out or get loose?
Yes. Super glue or Elmer's

It won't work. Do what I tell you to in this video
What is option B for degreasing?
Degreasing tank
Thank you I was wondering
So I’m watching your UA-cam channel. Where does the easy part come in? I’m lost.

Good to hear!
