Thank You, For giving one of the most "Through & Honest Reviews" I have ever watched here on UA-cam, Also the point you made about Honda and other manufactures installing Under sized Brakes on vehicles that are heavy, is spot on, I had similar problems with a GMC Van that came with under sized Brakes (Calipers/Rotors & Pads) whose Rotors would Warp if I dared take a trip on the hilly Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Thank you for watching and appreciate your input. When i talk of some of these issues Honda isn’t alone but I try to keep it to the content I’m specializing in. 👍🏻
@@BCautosolutions I love your channel man even though I don't own a honda. I almost got one back in 2020 but ended up with its archrival Toyota. Every car brand has issues. Sunroof and moonroof is a non starter for me personally here in Canada due to potential leaking and also heavy snow for like 6 months in a year plus insurance. As for my tires they come in old fashioned steelies as I have the Corolla LE trim. What do you think of piano black around the shifter. I find it gets dirty easily but also a perfect deterrent of not eating in my vehicle as a result which means one less problem.
@@alvinsimba734 hey man thanks for the kind words and support! I love the piano black look personally. It does scratch and gets dirty easily but like you i do not eat in my cars!
@@BCautosolutions bro I don't want to be paying 50K and get anything fake ..... Lol I'm looking for a three row I can comfortably bang a chick in. Im looking at the Pilot over the MDX because it's a bit higher. Would I be able to sit up and meditate in the cargo area or too small? If I know I can do that in the MDX I'll likely pick it up. MDX A spec with the blue looks amazing. Check it out and let me know what u think, and if it's a better idea than the Pilot? They share the same engine and transmission ..MDX gets real exhausts. But again I don't know if I can sit up and meditate in the cargo area

Thanks for your input and congrats on the civic! Best of luck with it.
Thanks for the info/ vid. Looking to move into one for my family.
Great! Report back on your likes and dislikes! Congrats
With regard to the front rotors, you are spot on. I purchased aftermarket slotted rotors and have had no issues since.
Thanks for the input!
Thanks for the overview. I'm going to get on a waiting list tomorrow. The fake exhaust tips don't bother me, but the transponder in the middle seat does. I planned on storing it in the garage. The brake rotors are larger than the previous model, so the extra mass should help a bit with warping. Here's to hoping.
The center seat had a dedicated storage compartment in the trunk space. I can do a quick video on it when another comes in (this one was already delivered). The rotors will most likely still warp, the ones one my tlx -S are massive and they still warped, just too much weight to stop. Please do come back and let me know how you like it once received.
So you're saying I should invest in a lathe for the rotors 😁. I was hoping to use the dedicated space for extra cargo room when we go camping or on a road trip. As long as there's only a warning light that comes on and not a warning tone, I can live with that.
@@Scott144K go with the 23 👍🏻. The trans alone being 10at makes me pick the 23.
@@BCautosolutions how this compare to the Nissan pathfinder?

So glad you said that about the Pano roof… I’ve wanted one for so long and didn’t realize the issues
They are great until they aren’t lol
While not disputing the comment, I will say I've had a pano roof on the first gen Venza (2010), never had an issue, and on my current Highlander platinum (2017) and not one problem.
I really appreciated your points you made. Very helpful
Thank you!
I bought this exact vehicle , would have lived the elite but none available in my area. Drives beautifully test drive most of the others this one won out for me just my opt. Loving it. Thank you for your perspective, different from the rest!
Congrats on your purchase and thanks for watching!
Amazing video as usual ❤, We need more TLX type s content please 😁
Thanks, doing some more testing on the tlx but the holidays and local weather have essentially stopped that for that last 3 weeks.
2023 Pilot Elite is on our short list of cars we are considering to replace our 22 year-old 2001 Acura MDX. It still runs and drives just fine after 125K. No issues other than normal parts replacement like tires, batts, pads, timing belt, etc. Front rotors were turned during a pad replacement a few thousand miles ago. Surprised to hear warpage is a common issue. Anyway, wish new MDX's were more affordable, at age 75 we will have to settle for a car in the mid $50's and hope it is as good as the MDX has been. At our age we don't drive much, less than 5K per year but we'd like to have a shiny new car with all the modern bells and whistles.
Hey thanks for your input and appreciate your story! Car prices has been on a ridiculous increase which puts a lot of people of the market. At your age like you said I would even consider and rdx or Crv. Won’t have all the bells and whistles but it’ll be new and shiny and loads of features over your current 2001. Good luck with it.
Just had my rotors replaced on my 21 accord 2.0…15k miles. You’re spot on with that, nice vid
Sorry to hear. Thank you for confirming what I already know. The bay sayers need to hear this more often.

Thanks for the Review. I still have my 03 Pilot with 223,000 plus miles that’s now my workhorse vehicle and still going strong. Main repair was changing my exhaust and timing belts. Other than that, just regular maintenance and they keep going.

Great review. Very detailed from a tech's experience. Would love to see a review of the 11 generation Accord.
We just got 3 in today and were all sold so I didn’t get a change to do my thoughts on video but there’s some improvements and some unchanged things. Stay tuned!
Thanks for confirming the brake issue. My 2017 ridgeline brakes vibrate like crazy decelerating from hwy speeds, only 38k miles too. My wife’s Accord had to get her rotors trued after only like 30k miles. That’s bad….
Consider yourself lucky, in most cases we are resurfacing rotors at around 20k, but yea it’s bad.
@@BCautosolutions honestly I think that’s closer to when I first started noticing it. I haven’t addressed the issue yet because I just don’t drive enough. Why isn’t there more outrage about this?
@@neppcity most people lease and don’t give a crap that would be my best guess lol.
@@BCautosolutions how long has this problem persisted? we have this issue on our 2005 odyssey but its 18 years old with 223k miles, I didnt realize other larger honda products suffered from it still
Same with our 2019 Odyssey. I had the dealership that I bought the vehicle from check the brakes out shortly before it went out of warranty and of course, "everything is fine". When I dropped it off I even told the service advisor that it seemed like the rotors were warped but apparently they didn't take the hint.
Does the new Pilot have VCM? I have 2 Hondas (2012 Ody and 2019 Pilot) and have disabled VCM on both, but I’ve heard that in the later versions VCM isn’t quite as damaging to the engine.
Informative review about the new pilot 👍 👌 😀
Thank you for your honesty information about the vehicle very interesting....✌️
Little curiosity.. what years are the more problematic transmission issues?....
Thanks for you response. In my opinion all years 6at (traditional shifter) pilots. People rag on the zf9 (button shifter) although we rarely have issues with those.
Super job!! Good information. Just about put my $$ down. But rethinking a few things. Disappointed about fake dual exhaust.
Yeah has some misses for sure but the powertrain in general is worth it over the 2022 imo.
Ive had my 2025 trailsport for a month or so. Trans is a little jerky. Overall i love it! Liked and subbed my man
Congrats and thanks for the input
Thank you for the video and the information.. some of the things you brought up I am sure no one thinks of like spilling on the controls. I also hate the fake exhaust tips. They should have just went straight with the exhausted right out of the tips. I was wondering does the 2023 have the button to fold in the side view mirrors ?
Can only watch so many videos of the same it has x amount of cup holders and usb ports 🤪. On this trim no folding mirrors I’ll have to check on an elite, would also be nice on a trail sport if you have to fold them on a trail.
@@BCautosolutions if you could let me know about the power folding mirror button on the elite that would be great. Thank you

Thanks for your input. I'm not a full time mechanic but I do like to work on cars (minor work) why would they place the battery way under the engine!!! 😞
It seems to be the new trend. Sucks to get them out and it’s to lower center of gravity.

Great review. - completely agree on the brakes… New MDX has all same issues … ours is garaged however, no panoramic problems and I’m OCD so buttons have never been a problem
We have seen customers leave sunroofs open and serious malfunction
Thanks for your input. The pano roof is awesome but if I owned one I would open the shade and that’s how it would ride the rest of its life with me 🤣
@@BCautosolutions rarely open past half and use to vent, honda needs to address noise issues with open roof and rear windows down in the cabin. Severe sound vibration.

@@Cfox2000 I’m sure it is but all that costs money and would raise the price of the vehicle, which then people would complain even more. It’s a lose/lose.
@@BCautosolutions true… but by time you move into Acura A-Spec money I feel like those are things they should have addressed… just my 2 cents… same with the brakes… what good are brembos unless they can’t give you better rotors - which I think they are slightly but still warp…
The braking module doesn’t actively measure g-forces effectively in my opinion… way too much stopping in the front
@@Cfox2000 all valid points which is way above my pay grade to start addressing lol. Rotors will forever be undersized and should probably have some rear vented rotors and apply some more braking force back there would probably be the most realistic approach but what do I know 🤷🏼♂️

Fantastic and helpful thank you! we are looking between 2023 pilot vs traverse - had no idea bout warping rotors.. love to hear if youd peg the 23 traverse as better or worse in comparison
Without being super biased I would pick the pilot over the traverse. I personally considered both as well and ended up with the pilot. Traverse powertrain had me concerned along with the interior feeling on the cheaper side swayed me towards what I was familiar with which was the Honda.

Excellent honest review. Wish they had went to a timing chain. That gets expensive over time. Shift buttons kill it for me. The trail sport looks amazing.
I will stick with a 5th gen 4Runner.
Probably great if you don’t keep this more than 4-5 years.
Yeah the timing belt isn’t too bad most people will have to do it once. It would have cost Honda a ton of most to reengineer the engine series to a chain is what I gather. The buttons don’t bother me as much as the location. For example on the Acuras they are further into the dash and less liquid damage prone. Those 4Runners are amazing 👍🏻
@@BCautosolutions I had a 2014 V6 Accord, I put 300,000 kms on it. Great car except the back calipers seizing and the $2000 timing belt replacement. The 2 pilots I had I sold just before the timing belts needed to be replaced. It’s an expensive job in Canada.
@@BCautosolutions hopefully Honda had Aisin revise the tensioner as I hear many had oem tensioners leak prematurely

@hondamobilemechanic is the 10 spd tranny still a ZF? Also, do you like the new variable valve timing control tech being used on the DOHC 3.5? I love the SOHC VTEC was used on the 3rd Gen. Great at maintaining torque through the powerband. I think it’s a shame Honda made a 300-400 lbs heavier vehicle, using a DOHC engine set-up but only managed 5 HP more (which is likely negligible on performance given the added vehicle weight). Seems like Honda could have done more with the powertrain on this Gen 4. Thoughts?
10 speed is Hondas design. The variable valve timing is great my only concern is it becoming an oil leak source. I do agree that there should have been a 20-30 hp bump to if for nothing else just offset the added weight. For whatever reason they chose not to. Not sure if reliability was the issue, emissions, fuel economy, costs, or a combination.
I have a 21 touring 2wd. 17k miles. Do you recommend turning the OEM rotors or replacing them? Any recommendations for replacement parts?
You can just do good quality aftermarket rotors (it’s not like the Honda ones last anyways).
Can you recommend any replacement rotors that would hold up better without warping? Seriously considering getting the new Pilot, but I'm sick of warped rotors on my current car and thought about getting some slotted/vented rotors instead of going with the OEMs again. Any suggestions would be welcome! Love the channel!
I would recommend the tlx/mdx Type S upgrade. It’s not too expensive and a ton more rotor which should handle heat a lot better. I’m going to be looking on doing an upgrade locally and do a video on it.
@@BCautosolutions Thanks! Would that be better and/or cheaper than something like StopTech or Hawk slotted/drilled rotors? Would I also need upgraded calipers/pads? (Also, just do the front, or do all four corners?)
Is infotainment screen size the same size from previous model? When you have panorama roof you still have rails option to be installed on the roof, right? I love panorama roof. To bad it only comes with touring and up trim. Exl trim is good for us.
Screen is slightly bigger but your right it’s undersized. Roof rails are useless imo I have them on mine and I’ve used them zero times.
Thanks for the honest review. Any thoughts on the 2023 Passport? I believe it has a different version of the V6 but has the same 9AT?
No, everything v6 Will get 10at going forward.
Hey! Thanks for your video. I’m looking to pre-order a 2024 Pilot Touring coming from an 08 Accord.
My accord burns / consumes a litre of oil every 1500 kms. I’ve heard Honda’s 3.5L V6 is notorious for oil burning due to the VCM. Is this true? I really don’t wanna deal with any oil consumption. Our family’s 2013 Civic has not burned or consumed a drop of oil and it has just under 90 kms at the moment.
Any word is appreciated! Have a good day.
Yes the older j series with vcm was problematic and have some software and design flaws. The oil consumption days on the j series seem to be behind us. Number one rule is forget the Honda maintenance algorithm and change your oil between 3-5k do not go past that! That will cause more damage long term then the vcm ever will imo. Good luck on your new purchase and congrats.
Excellent! Where is the spare tire stored? and can a real tire be stored there instead of a donut tire?
Also if the battery dies, is there a key to get inside the Pilot to pop the hood to recharge the battery?
Can the oil be changed without having to jack up the vehicle?
Spare tire under trunk, believe the trail sport comes with full size so no reason you can’t stuff one in there on another trim. Check link for how to get into car in the event battery dies. I would recommend jacking vehicle, don’t think there’s enough clearance to make it optimal to change oil on ground. Lmk if you have any more questions.

Looking at buying one of these in the trail sport trim. Do you think the aftermarket will have better replacement rotors or not? It’s a nice vehicle. We will be trading in our 2014 Explorer which was a very good car.
Better, probably not although the bigger front rotors/calipers from the type s mdx and tlx could work here. Once I’ve done my research I’ll report back.
I’ve own all gens. By far this the best pilot ever made. Just got mine ( touring). Bigger than the previous and way lot smoother
Yeah In general all cars grow with each generation. Current gen hrv is bigger then original crv. Pretty nuts
Love that color!
Great color for sure
10A/T is fine other than when the fluid needs changed. Wouldn’t be an issue if it wouldn’t keep spitting back at me on fill. Is there a certain tool/tool adapter you use to prevent that?
Lol you make a very very solid point. Depending on the car I actually fill it though a vent on top of the trans, I’ll be making a video on that soon.
Appreciate this vid. How much will a running belt/water pump service be on this with the new head? How much compared to the old one? Any compatible OEN Honda/Acura larger disc brakes to recommend to avoid warping?
Price will dictate how much parts cost (too early for that) also labor might be an additional .5-1.0 hours. That job at a dealer your probably looking at $1,500+ although if you have someone locally like myself you can save some money. As far as the rotors too early to tell. Once I inspect it thoroughly there could be an upgraded
@@BCautosolutions Appreciate the quick response. I have a 4th gen TL 3.7 SHAWD and front disc's are warped at 110k. Any specific recommendations? Also need timing/water pump change. It has a minor fuel pump seal oil leak right by the pan also. Otherwise it runs great with a free engine rebuild last year from Acura for the oil consumption.

Thanks for the video. Is it ok to get this 1st model year pilot in your technician professional opinion or wait a few years for bugs to be worked out?
My policy has always been never get the 1st generation.
First models years after a full redesign seem to come with a slew of recalls attached to it. Although if your in the market and can’t wait, go for it. Great video. Appreciate your insight as I am someone doing research to make sure I don't waste money.
1 question, if you could pick '22 Pilot or '23 Pilot....which would you gamble on?
23 for two reasons. 10at trans over 6/9at and the whole fakra (infotainment blanking/popping, etc).
Have you noticed any issues with the hoods? I just took delivery of my 23 Pilot Elite and I ran my finger in the gap between the front quarter panel and hood and noticed both sides were off by quite a bit. Even looking at this video I noticed the a huge gap between the same area as my issues. I just took it back and they tried to adjust it by unscrewing the 4 main screws and aligning but it didn't work and now I have to wait for Honda to address it.
Yeah I’m not sure if it’s like by design or not but it is an insular large gap
Considering this as a future purchase. How reliable is that Variable Cylinder Management system? I have not heard positive things about it..
It’s not bad. Has come along was since the earlier years and definitely has improved in reliability and switching on and off is seamless. Same system on my tlx-s and can’t even feel the transition. The quad vtc imo is something to consider as a potential leak spot(s) and could be routine maintenance with t belt package. Will have to dissect one when/if that time approaches.
10at alone is a win.
💯
Thanks for the insightful video! I wonder if you happen to know the wheel specifications on the EX-L (hub bore/bolt pattern/offset)? I am considering an EX-L, and not sure I love the wheels--I would like to purchase the wheels that come on the Ridgeline RTL, but I am not sure if the wheels are the exact size as the Pilot?
Exact size no, will they work? Absolutely. I don’t know about the bore and offset, would have to do some research although the bolt pattern is 5x120 on both. Offset on oem Honda wheels typically 50s

Curious as to what the transponder is for in the removable middle seat? The seat would take up some really nice storage if it’s not able to be removed completely.
Dash has a " Seat belt ON/OFF " gauge . Like the Start/Stop button , the car wants/needs to know if the seat is IN the vehicle .
This!
@@gregoryjefferson6311why does it matter to the vehicle if the seat is IN the vehicle if it's been removed from the second row? seems like stupid programming. takes up the whole rear storage compartment so was planning to just store it in my home when removed.
Historically, SUVs and minivans have had rear ends where the bumper sticks out beliw the tailgate, so there's a ledge at the bottom of the tailgate. However, with this Pilot (and a couple of newer Toyota models), the rear bumper is flush with the tailgate. Do you think Honda and Toyota did some strengthening to the tailgate in the event of a rear end collision?
I’m sure they did, typically the bumper support is where the “ideal” impact would be in most cases anyways.
Thanks for the mechanic's perspective! Very insightful. My uncle has owned his Pilot for 20 years now + over 200k miles (2003 new) and is still running well--- do you anticipate that this new 2023 Pilot will be able last as well? Thanks!
That’s difficult to answer as with more tech, more moving parts, there’s higher fail rates. With all the proper maintenance done there’s no reason it shouldn’t go 200k+ tho
@Hondamobilemechanic that's true with the increased amount of tech! But very good to hear that 200k miles is possible with proper maintenance! Thanks!

The max allowed to fit in there haha, also depends on the car. The bigger/heavier, the more mass needed. They/we can also do some more rotor venting which would help some.

1 question is it double wishbone front like the new mdx or McPherson strut like old pilots? as far as the fake tips its done for insurance reasons saves $ on ins. protruding mufflers cause more damages on minor accidents... i think its dumb but .. thank you for the info
Will look but I believe it’s McPherson
Lovely overview. Don't know why Honda did not include the digital rearview mirror...big miss in my opinion.
Good point. Lots of small things missed. Some of them almost equating to a step back.
Sounded like trailsport might…
@@Cfox2000 trailsport has trail watch when in trail mode which is a 360 degree view but I believe it’s displayed in the infotainment.
Are Honda trading of weight, and its effect on handling, with the small front rotors?
Probably comes down to penny pinching.
What do you do to address the rotors? And how long will they last before you have to change them again thank you.
Nothing, not much to do, there isn’t any upgrades available typically for the pilots. Avoid huge heat transfers (car washes after heavy braking and puddles).
Just subbed!
Appreciate it!
Just FYI - the TrailSport doesn't have the fake exhaust tips, and it comes standard with the trailer hitch (which none of the others do) as an added bonus.
Yes, tbh if I were to get one, it would be the trailsport
@@BCautosolutions agree.
@Hondamobilemechanic We've got a 2019 Odyssey that of course has the 9-speed ZF transmission and I hate it, although it has been problem-free. A couple of the Honda dealers in my area (DFW) have some pretty good markdowns on leftover '22 Pilots. Has the 9-speed been tweaked enough over the years that the '22 models are much improved over the earlier versions, both from drivability and reliability perspectives? Or would this be a hard pass for you, and get the '23 with the 10-speed instead?
From 18-19 there was a tcu software update that affected some take off gear selection and overall shift pattern changes. Not sure if the same thing happened in the 18+ odyssey or not. I personally have a 2019 Pilot touring with the zf trans and change the fluid every 30k (now going on 70k) and it’s been problem free. I do like the 10at In my tlx better but not enough to pay extra on your case on the 23 pilot over the 22 pilot. Stay away from the 6at offered Im the lower trims 16-22 pilots tho.
@@BCautosolutions thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate the information! By the way, have you considered making a video covering changing the ATF fluid in the ZF 9-speed?
@@drw1926 I have; they rarely get sold here due to the nature of the pricing but I will next time I get a chance
I like the 2015 and the 2018 Honda pilot exl for some reason. Should I go with an old model with low miles or new 2023 with no miles. Of course I’ll be saving a lot of money with an older year. What is you’re honest opinion?
I have a 2019 and I have no reason to trade up into a 2023 but if I was in the market I’d be going with the 2023.
The 9 speed is a very solid transmission and I have never heard of any issues. It is a super reliable transmission.
We have had some failures and I prefer over the 6at but the 10at is the best option for sure. I have a 9at and 10at.
Does the timing belt made out of better materials (Kevlar?) make a difference in wear and longevity?
I highly doubt it. We very rarely see a snapped belt anyways even extremely overdue. I wouldn’t worry about that
I’m on a FB 2023+ Pilot page, and a lot of people are having inside A Pillar leaks from the roof, not sure if it’s from the sunroof or roof rail tracks. Have you seen this common issue?
So far we have not had any issues at all with any pilots. Do you happen to know if there have been any repairs? Is the last I’ve seen where there is a lack of seam sealer on the roof to Pilar joints which would be the first place I would look.
The hood alignment/panel gap on the driver side is noticeable bigger than on the passenger side. Did you not see it?
I did, the hood is dual latch and requires to pull on the lever twice, I only did it once 🤪
2016 Pilot owner with 168K ( 6Spd ) . Never had any issues with Rotors or Tranny . Does the 23 have a LARGE Tranny dip stick where you can add Fluid & check levels at the same point/spot ??
Negative. The 2023 uses a 10at and has no dip-stick at all. Your very lucky to not have any issues with your trans. I’m going to assume here your changing the fluid regularly?
@@BCautosolutions Stopped using the Dealer but found a reliable local Guy . I change it every 75-80K . I started changing my own oil too. I buy the oil filters from the Dealer & the Tranny filter online .
The big rectangular holes in the grill. Looks like that could be problematic. Your thoughts
Yeah could be in particular for the condenser to get abused by some highway debri leading to Freon leaks.
Do you know if this is an "interference" engine (if the timing belt/chain breaks, will the pistons hit the valves?)
Yes
For that tailpipe it looks like you can take out the piece in the rear maybe?
Possibly, I would just apply black vinyl and call it a day.
Great video. We are looking for a bigger vehicle that accommodates a wheelchair and Mt bike. Currently in the XC 60. Still thinking expedition.
Thanks for the response. Good luck with your search
Stick with the pilot
@@billylo2010 can I ask why? I’ve not owned a Honda product…and need space.
@@doogie64 because it is very spacious
@@billylo2010 💯
Very nice beatiful look suv
Love the exterior, the interior im not sold yet.
Thanks for your insights. That timing belt still tho 🙄
Yeah I get it for sure but would reauire a whole new engine series to change it at this point. Thanks for watching!
Glad they kept the push button transmission. However Honda dropped the ball drastically when they didn’t include the 12 inch touchscreen found in the 2023 Accord. Why include the same damn screen that’s in the HRV AND CRV 🤦♂️
I agree on both counts. Great trans choice, horrible infotainment choice.
They are always late 5-6 yrs with updates compared to competitors. Honda is well known for saving money on things they think people will not focus on much and buy Honda.
@@ImportedFromSerbia Honda is well known to be late to the party. On the flip side by doing this they learn from others mistakes 🫡
Its like 3 cubic feet larger and longer than the older model so it defintely is not smaller. Also waiting on the grand highlander reveal to decide.
Just looks/feels smaller I’m not sure why but it does 🤷🏼♂️. Appreciate the input
Good review except for one thing. You said it looks smaller than the current version when it is clearly larger and the dimensions bear that out. It is like 3 inches longer, the track is wider and it is taller.
Right but it looks smaller. We actually took measurements because I couldn’t believe it 🤣Thanks for watching.
Notice the gaps hood to fenders the diver side big gap passenger side smaller
That’s what pdi is for
I’m hoping that the infotainment system doesn’t have issue like the 19-21 I got the 20 touring took honda over a year to fix cracking issue.
You and I believe me lol
If I get a 2023 Pilot, would you recommend me installing an after market VCM killer?
No, hasn’t been an issue as of late.
How can you tell when your pilot rotors are warped at home? I have the ability to take the wheels off…..can you feel it with your hands or see it visually?
If they are really bad you’ll see/feel hot spots. If not you will have shaking fr steering from braking and can measure runout to confirm.
Thank you.
Anytime
I’m torn between pilot 2023 and highlander 2023.. which one is better? a lot says they don’t like the new highlander because of the engine.. pilot still has v6.. if you were to choose between those two.. which on should you go? considering realiability and everything… Thanks
Pilot because of the 10at (really great trans) and like you said v6.
I test drove a 2023 Highlander the other day. Very unimpressed with acceleration from a stop. Just got a 2023 Pilot today.
@@TrussttN01 congrats!
It seems to me that the new Pilot will have the edge over the Telluride. I'd like to purchase an 8 seat SUV and currently lean towards the Pilot. What is your opinion? (and thanks a lot for this type of review. It's way more useful than all the repetitive ads for the past few months from all the other youtubers)
Did u drive one? I drove one the other day and it rides like a very large bus so I decided against it right away.
@@geauxp not a pilot yet as I find no dealerships with that SUV in my area, but I plan to. I'll let you know how that goes. The Telluride drives nice though
I can’t give a fair assessment on the telluride since I have not driven one nor been in one but I will say that all those features that Kia/Hyundai offers have to come at a price and I believe that price in my opinion is quality, and longevity.
@@geauxp telluride or Pilot?
@@BCautosolutions hi I drove a pilot and a passport couple weeks ago and I didn’t mind the passport at all but the pilot was terrible. The pilot drives like a bus.
Would timing belt change be more difficult/costly as well?
Yea, actually there’s a special tool required to lock the cam gears. Will have a video on that shortly
