Hi Venture Lyfe, the pizza was huge and very good. If you’re looking for a non touristic place Matehuala is good for that especially if your near by. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Marc
Matehuala is the number one overnight stop for Americans and Canadians driving down from or to Texas. Most spend the night at the Las Palmas Midway Inn which is also pet friendly and has a fantastic onsite restaurant.
i recently moved to cedral wich is about 25 minutes from matehuala i always go because its the nearest walmart thanks for showing me the pizza place will have to try for sure
Hi Marc and Paulette... interesting video! I've never heard of this town. The views of the streetscapes resemble both Chihuahua City and Ciudad Obregon. That pizza looked amazing! The cabuches look interesting, too, I understand that they taste like artichokes... did you get to try those?
Hi Markas, the pizza was amazing. We haven't been to Cuidad Obregon. I can see to Chihuahua. We did try the cabuches and they did taste like artichokes. -Marc
I love this video! I will check out this town. I am looking to reallocate to a smaller city (with less than 100,000 people) that is not too touristic (so it's more affordable). I will put it on my list! It was fun seeing you with your Mexican friends 🙂
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico the preserve of “cactus” in vinegar your friend was showing , they were used to make a sweet like camotes style, cristalízed fruits we call them , they were used for Rosca de Reyes as well , but the government doesn’t allow to eat them anymore, so it’s consumption is clandestine like the turtle eggs are.Hugs Mark
Hi!!! The biznaga is forbidden but the cabuches are the flower that grows from the biznaga; that is not illegal and you can find it in a lot of restaurants
@@enricagalvan4331 yes, but as far as I know, it’s forbidden and worst cos you need the seeds of the flower for birds and rodents to be dispersed, I’m not a biologist but most seeds are in the flowers , aren’t they in this case ? in Guadalajara, my city, you can sadly still buy biznaga, we should all help to reduce our own carbon fingerprint
Interesting. I did some reading on this and discovered that while it's illegal to dig up a dig up a Biznaga and use it for something taking the flowers is not illegal in fact the extract from the flower is used in candy as well. Is it possible to harvest the seed from the flower and grow more Biznaga? We saw a lot of the flowers being sold in Matehuala, is it possible that some company grows them in controlled environments and harvests the seeds to grow more? Both of you have more insight into this then I do i'm sure. -Marc
Bonita mi matehuala 😊

Las Servillanas is a great, truly great restaurant. I’ve probably stopped there 15-20 times. There are like 4-5 Las Servillanas in Matehuala.
Thanks for the info. -Marc

Biznaga is forbidden for consumption since 5 years ago because it’s close to extinction !
Thanks for that information. What is Biznaga?
