Every dealer should have someone with at least a tenth of your knowledge. As far as I know, NO dealer will set up a bike specifically for the buyer. That's up to the buyer.... Doesn't make sense hey? This is very informative
I really wish I could have a session with Dave too setup my bike and get some knownledge. I rode an '01 R6 for a year and just bought a '05 R1 couple of days ago. I feel like my problem is I'm too stiff/scared, after a roundabout when my front tire slipped at probably 35° angle at low speed. With my R6 I'm comfortable even with my knee at the ground on left hand turns.
Isnt there a way to remove those handlebar 'pen' on both sides and make or buy 2 of those 'pen(s??)' (idk english isnt my native language and pens seems weird to me) with a bent in it to get them closer to you? Or would that be a great idea to bring on the market?😂😂
I understand what you are asking. I wish there was a way to do that with this bike. Unfortunately there is not as my left shoulder is no the same so my hands do not line up the same. I would need a different handlebar for my left side.
Do you have a shop here in Vegas where I can go for a consultation and adjustments. Im a beginner and does not really know which settings are appropiate as I am the one adjusting to the bike instead of my bike be adjusted for my ergonomics. Why do I feel like Im asking a chiropractor :))
Thanks Dave and the film crew for another great video!
Ok I’m about to cut my fz07 spacer 10mm and put 20w on it.... already took care of the back wish me luck!!!
''your playful youth catches up with you physicly''

Used to be shorts and Tshirt... now long pants and a jacket.
Helibar or similar angled risers possibly for bars.

Thanks Dave, although I very rarely find the controls uncomfortable, I'm sure it makes sense to check if only for safety. :>)
Always enjoy your videos Dave. In order to assess the lever positions, should you not be wearing your riding gloves for best result?
You can go with or without gloves - your choice. The reach and angle will change 2-3 times as you adapt to the new settings.
It always surprises me, that so few people actually set the controls up for them, one size fits nobody.
Well, maybe it fits like one dude, somewhere...and he doesn't even ride.
Yep, the first thing most do when getting into a car, change the seat position.

Unfortunately no as I live in Northern California, but if enough riders would be interested I would fly out to Vegas for a set up event.
