Thanks for the comprehensive comparison! I'm considering getting the EF 24-105mm F/4 myself as a main lens for studio shoots as my kit ef-m 15-45mm and 18-55 EF-s are good but not the best!
Excellent comparison! I worked for years with the EF Mark 1 version, and I love this lens. I sold it to buy the RF version, but now I'm in doubt: I can get a used EF Mark 2 version (in excellent condition, like brandd new) for $490 less than a brand new RF model. Is there a big optical difference between the RF and the EF Mark2 version? Of course, I know the RF version is a little better. But my real question is, is she $490 better? =) Thank you and congratulations for the video!
I am using the 24-105 mk 2 with the 5D mk4 at the moment, it is heavier but I am enjoying using it. The spacing of the focal lengths at the wide end is better, they have also put the 85mm in the range which is useful, I think I must have had a bad copy of the 24-105 RF lens, is your RF lens sticky?
Brilliant and thank you. I admit my confirmation bias but I just ponied up for the R6 after the recent price drop and still have my 24-105 Mk I as my main workhorse, which makes me two for two on equine references in one sentences. 😆 Your side-by-side convinced me not to worry about getting a replacement RF lens, at least for now. .
I wish they'd stop moving the buttons around. I think the button and dial layout of the 5D classic was perfect. I don't get the point of moving the dials all over the place with every model.
I’m just getting into/back into photography. Bought an R6 body and now considering options to cover this focal range. I have the adapter, so can choose from both EF and RF mount lenses. Debating between the EF v.2 ($600 used) and RF ($950 used) versions of this lens as well as the RF 24-240 ($900 new). I like the 24-240 as a one lens solution for travel and variety of shooting, but not crazy about the aperture range. Eventually I see myself owning both the 24-240 and one of the 24-105 lenses, but for now can only do one. I do like the idea of the EF and using the $ saved to buy another lens, but also like some things about the RF, including not having to use the adapter. Any thoughts on which way you would recommend for a relative newbie who wants to get out and learn?
Merhaba. Canon 17-85 USM ile 18-55 IS II sahibim. Hangisinden vazgeçmem gerektiğine karar veremedim. Sizce hangi lenste kalmalıyım. Hangisini seçmeliyim.
I love the idea of the additional avenues of creativity though slower shutters from the stabilisation. I just can't justify the high price on the R5 and that lens.
you can use what ever lenses you like. I only use two. the Canon 24-105 f4 L and the 70-200 f4 L both EF lenses. Build quality of the L series lenses is important when you are running around at weddings

the cost of the equipment is getting silly, you dont need to spend alot
Sooo boring
Weeding photographer? That's when I switched off.... LOL. For life of me, can't figure out why these photographers need L series!!
i'm confused. why don't they need L glass?
