15:21 THIS is the most accurate summary of what I felt in the rental BMWs I drove recently. The brake pedal feel is horrendous, synthetic, and non-linear. I simply could not stop smoothly. It will suddenly grab and brake harder than expected then the auto start stop will engage and kill the engine when you simply didn’t want to stop completely and rather just crawl. It was an absolutely awful feeling.

Patagonia and RayBan influencers making top quality car content. 👏
Love the intro music. 70’s feel.
The manufacturer nameplate on the lower driver b pillar was not applied straight. That immediately triggers my slapped together everywhere else warning system
As crazy as it sounds to say it, I'd take a Genesis G90 with its potential reliability, glitz, and glamor over any similar car in this price range. The mandatory check engine light in the BMW after only 3000 miles in your sample car is enough for me to steer clear of any German brand.
True luxury also includes wasting the absolute minimum amount of MY time at the dealer.
Thank you again for a fair and honest assessment of another car.
@japanwatchconnection which means it's a reliable car that won't have the check engine light permanently on.
Aztec Sedan
You're onto something
So an unreliable garbage like the w223 is better? Go sit in your Toyota
Can we have an entire episode to jack talking about the b58? Lol
But does it have a button for the button that unlatches the door?
Can't decide between this and a 2009 Avalon. Recommendations?
opening doors with voice command or nontouch handgestures. just hold your hand over a sensor by the handle like those foot activated lift gates... theres more ways to over complicate this! we can do it!!
😂😂 Just put the giant price tag below the tail lights and people will just move out of the way... no need for useless indicators
@@afrostigmeister the number series and sub model number times $25k is the MSRP. and every time you start it up, announces the price using a Cortana-like AI voice, over the electronic speaker. you can pay for celebrity voice overs, subscription based, of course.
Thanks again Jack and Mark, without this review I may have considered trading in my Hyundai Kona to purchase one!
10:06 “that is an interesting approach”. Yes, and Betamax was an interesting approach too. And so were HD DVD.
Nice review as always. One thing I wish you could add if possible is a review of the safety features on these big sedans and SUV's.
As a viewer since day one, once again informative videos and excellent production quality with no B/S!
No one cares Devan
This makes the Bangle era 7 series look beautiful in comparison.
This car looks like a bad migraine.
*Is* This car IS a bad migraine.
The 5 series is way uglier, had seen both, and the 5 series makes me puke more
Ouch 😂😂
@@1mpulv literally
I want my bedroom to look as good as that interior. The goofy geometric panel on the dashboard is oddly beautiful.
Externally, that is absolutely hideous. It’s a no from me straight away.
S class has the looks but don’t hope for that to be more reliable than this, my mechanics has many w223s in his shop, it’s overrated garbage to own
8:26 "B-58"!!! Jack is happy... I can imagine the look on Mark's face (For the algorithm)
Can you guys explain what you mean by a "lease only vehicle"? Is that due to depreciation, reliability, repair cost, all of the above?
All of the above.
They say the same thing about every single Luxury car!
He means - Statistically most people lease
@@kevm243true, and they are correct! Except for Lexus.
It's the american way of saying "i have more money than IQ points". That's what it means. Buying an expensive car that you can't afford to maintain, so you get rid of it before something goes wrong after not taking any care of the car whatsoever. Most of these people don't even know oil needs to be changed in the engine, let alone anything else.
2:07 the Cobra Chickens are coming for you, Mark!
This car is the real 6000 SUX, if you remember RoboCop.
I hope I will get to see IN THE SHOPPE section of the updated Tesla model 3 (so called “Highland”) from you guys. So many reviews just says it’s better than the out going one but barely any of them dive in to the same depth in engineering as you guys. Great video as always and keep them coming!!
The check engine light in BMWs is a feature
This makes the Bangle cars look like works of art
I heard BMW signed a partnership with LingLong tires for this model
Rented one for a long road trip in the Southwest. Was a pleasure.
Is it quite noisy for a quiet car, or am I regaining my hearing?
I always thought of the 7-series as the upscale version of GM's Toronado - throw every new idea into it and damn the reliability.
The head designer has been playing too much Cyberpunk 2077. 😂
Even the vehicles in that game are more decent looking than this
Great video, I sat in the back of the new 7 last year and the seats were soooo comfortable!
When you want the best reviews you come to Savage G
This is apt and relevant consumer buying advice!
16:00 Pretty much a V8 550i tuned would be so much better refined and faster. The 7 series is a GIANT tank its simply just too much lol.
I don’t see any world in which i’d pick a 7 series over a Panamera. I’m a big fan of both brands and have worked for them both. Porsche just blows this car out of the water (Taycan blows the i lineup away too)
These luxury car companies get away with murder with their reliability. Can you imagine if Ford had a check engine light at 3k miles? We'd never hear the end of it.
Actually there are plenty of fords with blown engines at 3k miles and they pay a marketing team to delete as much as possible off the internet.
This. Lexus seems to be the only exception.
The most overlooked luxury ever in the “luxury car” segment imo is having a peace of mind.
@@faheemabbas3965 Agreed. The Euros couldn't compete in quality or reliabilitity, hence why they shifted to nonsense once they realized Lexus was eating their lunch in the mid 90's. Prior to that, BMW/MB were damn good cars.
@@markm0000 do you have a source for this?
Its a press car that journalists have been beating on. And reliability is on par with lexus according to a bunch of reports
Love that Jack can talk that much about a BMW without taking breath :)
You guys are the best!
This looks like something out of RoboCop
That would be the 6000 SUX.
That’s fitting for 2024.
I liked BMW from 1985-2000 when they made sober, handsome, understated, over-engineered cars, with the focus on the driving experience. This is the opposite.
Many new X5s, X7s, and the 7 series are having those check engine light glitches. Nothing is actually wrong. I had a rental 24 X5, had the same issue, but went away eventually. You guys need to try out the X5 50e. I think bmw did great with their PHEVs
A glitch on a $150,000 cars most definitely means something is wrong.
The rationalization is strong with this one. Remarkable.
Hilarious comment
@@bassandtrebleclef haha, I mean it as a joke, and not as a joke at the same time
The shocking looks dont convert well on video, but IRL the car looks a lot better. And it has a lot of "presence", unlike the S-Class or the Audi A8, which can easily be confused for an E series or Audi A6 respectivly, especially for non-car people.
Exactly, the S class is just overrated for its subtle looks and it’s quality and reliability is beyond garbage, heck my mechanics has many w223s in his shop and told me it’s garbage to own and thankfully avoided that
The patagonia swag fits this car perfectly 👌 green wash
When Harman Kardon focused on marketshare and bought JBL and Infinity they were no longer worried about the audiophiles which is what got them to where they are... Bowers and Wilkins on the other hand have stayed true even before entering the automotive industry. B&W clarity and quality always shines through not too much bass plus they don't like to be confused with Bang and Olufsen ☺️
Harman owns the Bowers license for car audio!
Harman software, Harman amps etc.
From the press release on the 7 series: “Bowers & Wilkins in collaboration with HARMAN have developed and tuned two world-class, high-performance audio systems, the Surround Sound System and the Diamond Surround Sound System. This is the first time that Bowers & Wilkins sound will be available in two different levels of a BMW, giving customers access to high-performance audio for every 7 Series vehicle. Integrated by HARMAN and combined with HARMAN’s Quantum Logic Immersion (QLI) technology, both sound systems provide gorgeous sound and high-performance audio.
