take ohlins settings in the manual. reduce main chamber 10psi, go two click out on low speed compression (from their suggestion). when it rains go out another 2 clicks. enjoy.
Have this fork on my current Spesh Enduro. Formerly rode. Lyrik. Took some time to work dial in my Ohlins but once I did I found the fork and excellent performer. Added a carbon handlebar which helped with small bump sensitivity. This is a very good fork in my opinion, just not super easy getting the set up dialed. Ride feel is all personal ..... performance is data measured.
You really like this fork then? I have Öhlins suspension on my Ducati and love the performance. Now i'm curious to try both shock and fork on my mtb(currently run Fox 36 Factory and DPX2), so i'm trying to get some opinions from randoms...thanks.
Great review , Öhlins rules ! Sure all other MTB Suspension brand are good and at high Q-Index but Coil Fork and shock I belief is way better ! Doesen't matter if you beginner or Professional Rider. Even for E-MTB Coil Öhlins will be more-most suitable Suspension you can get now on Market ! ( NO Need a ?? 38 Fork ) !
i am a beginner and just bought a used bicycle. It seemed pretty new and was driven max 50 km. When I acquired it I noticed after the purchase that the pinch clamp screw was missing and the previous owner apparently does not remember if it fell down or what. Question ...How bad is it to ride that amount of km without this screw?
I was looking for a review of this fork! so nice for doing it 👍. Can you confirm that this fork is also available in 170mm travel for 29" wheel? Seems to be the case but wasn't sure. Thanks ✌
150-180 mm for the air fork, 130 -170 mm for the coil www.ohlins.com/product/rxf-36-trail-fork-29-air/ & www.ohlins.com/product/rxf-36-trail-fork-29-coil/
The only issue with Ohlins on MTB is that has always been top premium priced without being top premium performance compared to competitors...Hope this time they've made it right at the right price.
Ohlins knows what theyre doing. you should be thankful theyve entered the mtb game, forcing the top tiers to keep pushing. Fox's huge media exposure this year is surely due in part to the fact that they know ohlins is on their way up.
@@justingt3rs don't get me wrong.... It is a good thing Ohlins entering MTB... I'm just saying that their prices do not match their performance according to all reviews I've seen. But it is a free world man... You go can buy a Ohlins fork to thank them for joining the MTB.👍😀
Recommended setups are usually meant to keep the bike level thats why it feels harsh. You can lower the pressure on the shock as low as you like to make it comfortable just make sure it doesnt reach the end of the shock as that will cause damage. Its inevitable that it will bottom out when going over big jumps just make sure it doesnt happen all the time. For example if you ride over small humps, rocks, roots its alright to lower pressure as low as possible to give a comfortable ride. However once you start doing jumps, drops etc higher pressure is recommended as it will absorb a lot more of the shock and also keep your shock from damage.
I agree, my 2018 RXF is absolute trash. I sent it back to Ohlins for a rebuild and they very kindly upgraded it to all the new internals. Excited to give it a try.

Nice review, very informative, also I think it's the \ first video I have seen that is not with a swede at Öhlins, saying Öhlins correctly.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to give preference to anything other than FOX

Hey Vital, can you share your experience to setup the fork? I've just got this fork and started off their recommended setup and felt it's super harsh.
