    Thanks for sharing Beth. The class was great, took mine in December last year. Look at it as a win-win - it's only $99, they prep you and you take the test right there in the class, and you get to learn and test drive a Can Am! Yes it's only in a parking lot, but you get to feel it out to see if it's for you. Other advantage is that it provides a discount for insurance since it is a safety class.

    I lived in nyc. I took the 3wrc with a driver's license and got the endorsement card. I was supposed to get my permit test done, but then covid hit and closed the dmv. I officially earned my full motorcycle license two weeks ago as a PA resident. In PA the courses are completely FREE!

    Thank you so much for this. I've been planning to get a Ryker myself and was curious about the course. I live in Texas and it required that we do the course in order to ride. I've been a bit nervous about taking the course but this makes me feel a little bit better about going. Also, if you visit Can-Am's website, they have a place where you can learn about the course and I found a PDF file which contains the 3wbrc student manual. I've been reading up on it to make things a little easier on myself for when I go to do my course. Just wanted to let you know so if anyone else wants to try and get a little bit ahead of the game like I'm doing. Knowledge is power after all and I want to be one of the safest drivers on the road. Hope to see you on the road, cruise on!

    UPDATE: We passed the class and we definitely stiill had to do 3ish hours of classroom time. I was under the impression that the 3-hour ecourse took the place of the classroom time but I was mistaken. I was also under the impression that when you pass your class and you receive your three wheeled completion card. You take it to the DMV and they give you M endorsement. That's a no also lol You definitely still have to take the knowledge test to get your license.
    I take mine in 8 days and I'm soo scared lol, only because I never driven any type of bike. In Wisconsin we do our classroom time online which I'm happy about because classroom setting makes me ultra nervous.. Idk if all range time throughout the states are different or the same but this video makes me excited and nervous to see how everything is. Thanks for sharing.

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  2 роки тому

      Great question!! Actually it depends on the State you take the course in, but just about every state that I know of lets you retake both the written and skill test a second time. After that it is up to the training site whether or not they would have to pay again.

    I've been there at MTI they are really awesome, I enjoyed every minute, I really encourage everyone who wants to drive a can am to enroll to the class, most of states requires you to have the endorsement on your driver's license. Even for those states that not require it, I suggest for the newers drivers to take the class you will learn a lot.
    And you will enjoy it more of the half of the time is practice (driving).

    Rykerrides….I just went to take my required motorcycle knowledge test at the Secretary of sate here in Michigan. this is step 1 in getting my permit to drive a Ryker. Sadly I failed the test because 90% of the questions were based on a 2 wheeled motorcycle… such as, where’s the kill switch associated with the clutch ? the Ryker has no clutch !!!! other questions like "when must you put your feet down at intersections, when you should downshift, when you should upshift…when to use rear brake only, when to use front brake only, when to use brakes in conjunction with downshifting etc etc.... all of the questions were far off from what a Ryker rider will actually experience and again, the tests questions were geared only toward 2 wheeled motorcycles. #unfair! so now I have to study for a 2 wheeled motorbike which makes no sense because I have Zero desire to ever operate one and will do little on the states end to ensure im "safe for the road" for other drivers.

      Hi, I'm in Michigan as well. And you're right about the written test. My husband and I took the 2-wheel course at Schoolcraft College. The instructors were great. We were able to take both the written test and road test through the college. I didn't need to go to the Secretary of State. My husband did but only because he has a CDL endorsement. It's a 3 day course($50). You'll learn alot. However just like you we don't EVER plan to ride a 2-wheel which is why I signed up for the 3-wheel course. I want someone to teach me how to ride my bike safely. The rides and procedures are totally different.

    Warning!! NJ went to a hybrid training model. Now, students must complete a 6 hr online class before first day of in person training. This is not mentioned on website. Found out the hard way. Saw open spot for this weekend and registered. Next, received notification email. I was forced to cram all my training into one day in order to meet deadline. I hope they make this up by added more time on wheels. Please call your local place before registering online for details as they may have a non refundable policy.

    I have had a motorcycle license for 35+ years. Then I forgot to renew one year and the dealer I worked for came to me and said, you no longer have a license to drive!!! What, I have had my license for over 40 years!!! Well not anymore buddy. I had to re do the entire thing, Driving test and all. The girl who did my driving test was younger than my youngest child. She passed me with flying colors. Even she thought making me re take the driving part of the test was really silly. Illinois is really just money grabbing. This state should be known as the land of Stinkin, not the land of Lincoln, LOL! Abe is probably spinning in his grave! Well now I don’t have my M class anymore! WHAT now Illinois wants me to re take the ridding part of the motorcycle course! 🤬🤬🤬😡😡 this State sucks to say the least.

      Yup, that’s this state for ya. My family immigrated here in the late 1700’s on my Mom’s side of the family. I would Donald Trumps cash to move everybody and support all of them! Much of my family has moved to Florida. I’d leave in a minute but my wife says no way, she has a ton of family here too. We also have 8 grandkids. We’re staying in this high tax nightmare. 😡
