    Great video Beth! It's good to see not only passionate people but also knowledgeable people like yourself with these vlogs. When I ordered my 2022 Spyder in August of 2021, I rented an RT Limited and an F3 to compare and to validate my choice. I have a great dealership that gave me the option to change my order after the rentals. I agree with you; the F3 has a sportier feeling when you ride. But, as a personal preference, I preferred the more upright seating position of the RT and the bigger windshield up front. So, it confirmed my choice and I picked up my RT Sea-to-Sky in May 2022 and have been enjoying the journey ever since (it is my first ever motorcycle). Carpe diem et veho. Cheers Beth!

    @Beth - my wife is a shorty (5’3”) like you. When we looked at bikes, she considered the Ryker but she really liked the power steering of the F3. She also has the short reach bars, the backrest, and the floorboards. She absolutely LOVES her F3 … it’s perfect for her and it was well worth the extra $$. To me, the way to think of the lineup is like this:
    Ryker = Sportbike
    F3 = Cruiser
    RT (My bike) = Gold Wing

    Yeah! I had a Ryker and really loved it. I got the F3 because it's supposed to be more comfortable, certainly 2 up. Yes, it is. I'm not as tired after a longer drive. My passenger loves it.
    I want my Ryker back all of the time. I'm 71, and the F3 is my mount.
    Give me back my youth! Give me back my Ryker!

    Cow dog,
    You are right. We just traded my wife’s Ryker off for 2023 RT S2S. I have a 2022 RTL. Rode her Ryker around town, which wasn’t bad. Out on the highway it about killed us. The Ryker was nosy from wind, very rough. I rode the Ryker 50 miles several weeks ago I could see why she didn’t really enjoy riding with me. So made arrangements to trade her bike off. She got to ride her new RT home a 160 miles and she really enjoyed the ride. We are both happy with the Spyders. Hope to do some fall trips in the next few weeks in CO and NM. Ride safe.

    Great video! I'm about to purchase a Spyder RT but one thing I don't like about the Ryker is how low you sit. It seems as though the higher you sit the better you can see traffic ahead of you. Also, seems like the low sitting position makes it a little more difficult for other motorist to see you.

    Really great comparison video. I sold my Ryker 3 month after buying my Spyder. I do miss the Ryker for quick trips, but I love my Spyder RT. I first looked at the F3 Limited but had a very hard time getting on it. The large floorboards on the RT models make it so easy for me. It’s almost like the brake pedal and handle bars are made for someone my size.

    Really great video on the two. My favorite would be----one of each! I'll probably end up getting the RT since I plan on touring once retired. I've pulled a trailer for many years one my Honda Ace 750. Once you do that you'll never want to go without one. All my gear stayed in it all year long with plenty of room to spare. ? I purchased the 'short reach' bars for my RTL22 but the key pins on the center clamp and the hand grips did not allow the bar to 'pull back' to the rider but put them shoulder height so I settled for the stock bar on 2 inch riser. I'm only 2 inches taller than ye. Now my step son just acquired a 2015 F3-S with 7500 miles on the odometer, so I think I will get some F3 time.

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  Рік тому

      That’s true, the key pins don’t allow for any up or down movement. I also added the 2 inch risers. Helped a lot. It’s hard when you have trex arms like me!!

Recently I’ve changed my mind to the F3 limited. I love all the storage, and from many videos I’ve seen, it seems to ride really smooth. I was curious, I’ve seen people talking about you should upgrade the sway bar and links on rykers. Should this be applied to the F3 limited also? I would definitely be looking into taking some long trips. Keep the videos coming. 👏🏾👏🏾

    Hey Beth, thanks for the comparison video between the F3 and the Ryker. Quick question... I have a 2020 RT Limited and am considering getting a ryker to replace it. I am new the the Can-Am world and was considering this because of the feel of the Spyder vs. the Ryker. I like the feel of the Ryker because of the "sitting in" feel vs. the "sitting on" between the two. To me I seem to feel more unstable on the RT vs the Ryker and do not feel as "in control. I know I would be giving up a lot of niceties between the two. BTW I am 6' tall and 250#. Have you had this issue come up before ? I just want to make the right decision or maybe I just need to get used to the on vs. in feeling. Thanks in advance and stay safe !

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  4 місяці тому

      I’m sorry for the late response, I was out of the country. Before you switch from an RT to a Ryker definitely go try or at least sit on an F3. The F3 seating position is very different than the RT. I like the F3 seating position much better than an RT. That being said, the Ryker sitting position is completely different than both. It’s truly all about preference. If you’re doing a lot of long distance riding then the comforts with the Spyder are essential, but if you’re doing mostly in town riding… quick trips, then the Ryker is so much fun to ride.

    Hi Beth- I keep looking at the F3 Limited and I’m wondering how the maintenance compare with the Ryker? So far my Rally is easy to maintain and trouble free. I would imagine it’s a bit more challenging for oil changes, etc and I guess there must be maintenance on the belt as well on the F3?

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  Рік тому

      Good question! The maintenance for the Ryker is pretty easy because there are less panels to takeoff. But basically the maintenance is very similar between the Spyder and the Ryker. I have a question since you own a spider. I’m looking at a preowned 2021 Can-Am spider F3 limited with 1300 miles on it and I better off to buy a new one or a preowned and what is the yearly maintenance cost on Can-Am spider they are asking $ 24,499 they also have a 2022 same price a little over 3000 miles that one is preowned too. I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  9 місяців тому

      Hi Paul. As far as buying a pre owned vs new, that’s a very personal question. I always get nervous buying pre owned, unless it’s still covered by warranty. You just don’t know what you’re inheriting. You can always tell if the bike has been loved.
      For maintenance costs, I would recommend asking your specific dealership. Costs vary so much.
      Good luck with your decision and welcome to the family!

    CAN-AM CALLS ONE A SPYDER, THEN THE RYKER SHOULD BE CALLED THE SCORPION! because it is Black like an Emperor Scorpion and the body design makes it look like a SCORPION.

  • @Cowdog1
    @Cowdog1 Рік тому +3

    Seems like 100% of the Ryker riders ditch them for the Spyder. 100%. It's always a matter of time. It will happen. 100%. Just FYI. Let me know if that isn't true.

    • @RykerRydes
      @RykerRydes  Рік тому +2

      Yes, a lot of Ryker owners are realizing just how much and how far they are actually riding….then get a Spyder. But there are plenty of diehard Ryker owners that will never give up on the Ryker. Plus the price difference is huge.

      @@RykerRydes - I mostly agree, but I guess I mostly say that Ryker riders on UA-cam do that. I haven't seen many who don't move to the Spyder. Maybe it's for the sake of content, but I haven't found one yet. That's all I'm saying. Thanks for the videos, though. Good content. Cheers.
