- This next Video I play some welsh hymn tunes on this fine Organ the specifications for the instrument are found here:
www.npor.org.uk/cgi-bin/Rsearc...
They are "Gwahoddiad" "Calon Lan" and I finish up with "Tydi A Roddaist"
These are Mr Bond's Favorites (He's very lucky today!)
Just feel the Power of this Organ!
Hope you enjoy this and many thanks for watching!
Cheers
Rob
P.S I hope King Arthur had the Bass Turned Up and I hope the next door neighbour and Gladys where out!
My question is... Why are these beautiful tunes not used all over Christendom? I have never heard them before. But they are going on my Favorites List and I shall be hearing them each day. Thank You, Herr Orgelmeister !
Dunno - but thanks anyway.
As far as I can remember, I have always been overwhelmed by welsh music. These hymn tunes on the organ are no exception. DD
Your 3-note "Amen" still gives me the chills.
I just LOVE this video Rob! Wonderful hymn tunes played superbly and this organ sounds soooo good! I really enjoyed your recordings on this particular organ as you have much more resources available to you with this organ. This is one of the organs I'd love to play if I ever get to England and if that's possible. I'd also enjoy meeting you, Arthur, and David. Another fine video that I watch often Rob, thanks for sharing and great job!
I Hear Thy Welcome Voice is a beloved hymn of mine, but I always experienced it as a quiet invitation hymn. This was way too loud for me, but to each his own. Magnificent instrument.
Cheers!
WOW Rob!! I just discovered this video... must have missed it before. Wonderful! 3 of the best hymn tunes ever written! This has given me great pleasure listening to your excellent performance. Thank you :) That sure cleared out the earwax....
JamesEncliffe lol Thanks very much James ;)
Gwahoddiant is not a Welsh hymn tune. It is an American import
I love the tone and stops on the Brecon Cathedral organ. I wish you use it always
Woo Hoo!!!
Very powerful, Rob!
Thank you for sharing, Sir!
A great collection of hymns ... many I was not familiar with ... but I am now, thanks to you!
Thank you for that it's much appreciated! :-)
Enjoyed immensely! Thanks for sharing, Rob!
Cheers,
Charles
Very enjoyable indeed! ... I do hope you continue to provide such great music for all your viewers on UA-cam. It's truly amazing that we can enjoy your music here in Canada and around the world.
Thank you for that it's much appreciated and don't worry there will be so keep watching! :-)
Beautiful organ! ... great sound ... wonderful music! You are an excellent musician and organist! I could listen to you play indefinitely!
Thank you for that, when you hear this Organ in the flesh it's amazing, I actually visited here in June 2016 and did videos then "Under Cathedral Organ" But my most featured organ is the one at All Saints Church in Swansea :-)
That's wonderful to hear ... those were the videos I found first on UA-cam, from All Saints Church in Swansea ... I have to admit I didn't know where that was so I Googled it and read up on it and found a street level view of the church. Thanks again for your response and continued best wishes with your music. Kindest Regards, Raymond P.S.: Interestingly enough, whenever we sing a hymn in church that I really enjoy, I do a search for it on UA-cam and frequently, I will find that you have recorded it on one of your videos.
Thanks Raymond, seeing the Church in the flesh for yourself would be something, hope to be back at All Saints Soon in creating more videos for
Have you played any London churches Rob?
All Souls Langham Place
Westminster Chapel
Metropolitan Tabernacle
etc
Rob, I love your music. I listen to it often.
+John R Johnson Cheers for that.
Magnificent truly magnificent 🙏🏴

I've always said that Welsh tunes are the world's most beautiful and I might add that they are even more so when played by a master! Thanks, Rob!
Wish that I had the genius to write a new one! There are only so many, now.
I'm now even Cymru but the hymns speak to me so strongly. esp. the tragic ones.
Some how I missed this. Can't wait to listen on the big speakers!

I'm not Welsh, buy am Celtic. These hymns move me more than any others. Esp.: Llef, Aberysthwyth, In Memoriam, & any by Joseph Parry.
Please, can you tell me what hymn words fit with Cano lan
2nd part is a chorus "I am coming Lord, Coming now to thee....wash me cleanse me in the blood that flowed on Calvary.. First begins, I think 'I hear Thy welcome voice, that calls me now to thee', ...
No Need to send money I can scan them if you PM me your email I will sort this out for you thanks.
We are in the process of learning new hymns and tunes at out church and I was wondering if I were to send you the money, could you copy of tunes such as Calon Lan, and Blaenwern and mail them to me. We do not have them in our hymnals in the United States.
@TheRenaissanceman65 Alternatively, you could pay a visit to hymnary.org/
@TheRenaissanceman65 For many of the hymn tunes and much of the functionality on that site, hymnary.org can be used completely free of charge. Also, no printed hymnal can ever approach the scope of that website, which is cross-denominational, international, and comprehensive by nature. (As an example, try looking up the tunes PLEADING SAVIOR, BEACH SPRING, and HOLY MANNA in your copy of H&P.) Sure, nothing could beat the convenience of having hundreds of hymns already printed out and ready to go, but usually you only need a handful of them at a time for any given service. (Anyway, in this day and age, and especially in the United States, no thanks to our current political leadership, having hymnals in the pews is a liability, and I imagine that many American congregations have opted to use disposable programs in lieu of books that could potentially harbor viruses.)
@HarmonicNature Go ahead send me your email via PM.
Good, but the organ is not quite right on this, sounds a bit squeaky .........
Thanks due to a varity of reasons, camera microphone, I have since visited June of this year where they have made sufficiant tonal changes to the Organ!
