Absolutely Phenomenal!! This is one of my favorite hymns and the favorite hymn of the old organist at my church whom I miss so much. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of her. Thank you for sharing :-).
3. Though with a scornful wonder we see her sore oppressed, by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed, yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up, "How long?" And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.
I have played this over and over and it seems to get better every time. Very stimulating but also comforting. Thank you very, very much Rob. Cheers Patx
I heard this as the closing hymn to today's church service at a Catholic church here in Chicago; it's a shame that their organ wasn't as good as this one... Great playing Rob, as usual! -Daniel
love your playing, listen to you for hours, i was speaking to the organist at our church about when they were looking at replacing ours with an electric, he looked at the bishop and said electric merely vibrates the air, but the pipe organ, as she is, makes the wind sing.... we still have the old one, love how you make it come to life.... May i request "on eagles wings" if you do not already have it. Thanks
@@RobCharles1981 have they gotten equal to the air ones? What is the year of the one you always play? It is awesome to hear but you have to be there to truly experience and feel it. I took my wife to midnight mass for the first time, she was blown away
The Church’s one foundation Is Jesus Christ her Lord, She is His new creation By water and the Word. From heaven He came and sought her To be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her And for her life He died. She is from every nation, Yet one o’er all the earth; Her charter of salvation, One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy Name she blesses, Partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses, With every grace endued. The Church shall never perish! Her dear Lord to defend, To guide, sustain, and cherish, Is with her to the end: Though there be those who hate her, And false sons in her pale, Against both foe or traitor She ever shall prevail. Though with a scornful wonder Men see her sore oppressed, By schisms rent asunder, By heresies distressed: Yet saints their watch are keeping, Their cry goes up, “How long?” And soon the night of weeping Shall be the morn of song! ’Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war, She waits the consummation Of peace forevermore; Till, with the vision glorious, Her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victorious Shall be the Church at rest. Yet she on earth hath union With God the Three in One, And mystic sweet communion With those whose rest is won, With all her sons and daughters Who, by the Master’s hand Led through the deathly waters, Repose in Eden land. O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we Like them, the meek and lowly, On high may dwell with Thee: There, past the border mountains, Where in sweet vales the Bride With Thee by living fountains Forever shall abide!
Where's a spot of advice when you don't need it? Is a person not allowed to have a point of view without being sworn at (rhet). You are what you call others. Ha ha...
Prick is not swearing actually, don't break down what is good help to maintain and build. in the country where i live organists are marginalized and real organists are getting less and not supported by our country. promote and appreciate is all i can say to you.
@alphamanxx I know its impressive when you step in side the sound was amazing the pews where shaking! if you look back at the videos I did here sound even better ect. Rob
Can't have the best of both worlds on Utube mate. But in my honest opinion I wish I had access to a church organ cos you are one I listen to for what I need. We aint however going to change the world or nothing if we get so irked when someone criticises us...
Your three-part codas are fantastic. I have never heard one before. Where did you get the idea? I need your help. In some of the great old Welsh movies they use the tune which I know as "The Christian War Song." I can't catch the words sung in the movies, but have you recorded the tune. It is magnificent.
My father's favorite hymn. I'm sure he is singing with the angels.
My favorite Hymn to, many thanks for introducing this great Hymn to me, it has great meaning to me!

Magnificent! I especially liked the Tuba (?) solo at around 2.10 and the thunder of pedals on the last verse!
If only the Church would heed the message of this anthem!!
This hymn gets better and better each time I listen to it. Congratulations and thank you so much Rob. Cheers Patx
Cheers!
