Thanks for sharing your expertise. I just painted my apartment with farrow and ball Wimborne white (walls) and all white (ceilings) and I love it. Keep up the great work. New subscriber.
I've always used true grays i.e. Manor House Gray, but my friend painted his ceiling with Elephant's Breath, paired with Strong White Walls. It looks brilliant!
Oh thanks for sharing that. We are about to do just that in our bedroom (elephant breath ceiling & strong white walls), so great to see there is someone who saw the final product and vouches for it!
Thanks for this! Elephant's Breath is a strong contender for our living room right now. It helps that elephants are my LO's favorite animal! Hoping this will look lovely next to our whitewashed woodwork. Do you know the LVR? I couldn't find it on theirnwebsite. I love grays with violet undertones. I used Eider White in our north facing master bath and it's probably my favorite wall color in the whole house.
I have hand-built kitchen cabinets painted in Elephant’s breath - the Welsh Dresser and mantle piece are in Brinjal (aubergine) which looks stunning with Portmeirion china against it. I can change the Brinjal for any colour in future to match the cabinets.
Those colours appear to work beautifully together. The Skimming Stone is not white though, so just be aware of that if you are continuing it throughout the entire home or just in the one room.
Hi I’m a newbie also great advice I have the exact same problem as the lady below in the comments , hopefully after signing up for the colour palettes I can find something that resembles a flat beige colour at this rate I think my wallpaper may fall off the walls with the copious amounts of paint I’ve tried I keep picking beiges with pink undertonesat this rate I may be able to supply others with paint 😂🏴
Hi Claire! I’m new to your channel but it looks great, super informative. I was wondering if you could help me with some advice on F&B colours? I wish I had come across your channel before my partner and I painted our bedroom with Elephant’s Breath... I kept saying “I feel that it’s got a purple undertone”, which is NOT what I was going for ☹️ looks like we need to get new paint and start again! Are there soft beige colours without the purple that you’ve had experience with? I’m such an amateur 😂
Hi there, don't beat yourself up, colour can be difficult to work with! Every neutral has an undertone. With beige's you are either going to get pink, violet, green, yellow or orange. With grays you get violet, blue and green undertones. Grab my Free Download here called 'Fifteen shades of Gray' - bearing in mind that gray doesn't always mean 'gray' like you might be thinking. There are nice neutrals in this download and I reveal all undertones of each one. --> clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/
I have not used Farrow and Ball paint. I do get a kick out of the names of their paints! I have used a violet grey (for the life of me I can not remember the name but it's one of Maria's large sample colours) for a little girl's bedroom. Turned out super cute with just enough violet.
Hi, I've had my furniture painted in Elephants Breath (with oak tops) which looks fabulous but I don't know what the best colour is to paint the walls. I want something that's not too dark (I like blues in particular teal this would be for the soft furnishings) but don't know if it would look right. Help please. Julie
You can take a look at my Perferct Colour Palette as that has coordinating colours to pair with Elephants Breath. Link here clairejefford.com/product/elephants-breath/
We have elephants breath on our bathroom which I do love, but we also have an exposed red brick wall and beams In our bathroom. Do you think elephants breath is the right shade with all the other elements? I didn’t know if I should go blackened instead? Many thanks
Take a look at what a large painted board looks like with the brick, the beams and the lighting in that room. It's hard for me to say without seeing the space and knowing what else is in there.
Hi I’m making a home cinema 6m x3m and I can’t pick colours to save my life! Can you please help. Was maybe thinking farrow and ball lamproom gray but not sure what it goes well with
Hey Peter. You need to choose the paint colour last. Start with choosing finishes for your cinema first, such as carpeting, furniture, any fabrics or artwork etc. Once that is established, you can look at choosing a paint colour to match those elements. Here's a blog post that I wrote about a cinema we did for a clients basement that you might find helpful. --> clairejefford.com/glamorous-home-movie-theatre-design/

I love hearing this feedback. I've never used those colours myself. Glad you love it!

Thanks for sharing Danei. I hope to use it one day soon for a client project, or even my own house!

I'll bet! Thanks for sharing. :)
Love a gray with a violet undertone! Thanks for the tips
Cheers for watching Lisa!!

Does elephants breath work for a feature wall where the rest of the room and ceiling and trim is skimming stone?
Those colours appear to work beautifully together. The Skimming Stone is not white though, so just be aware of that if you are continuing it throughout the entire home or just in the one room.
In reality, their is very little grey in it. Much more beige/ taupe than grey. Lovely colour
Love the color demo! And the bloopers. 👌🏻❤️
Haha! Thanks. Glad you found the comments section!

LOL. Hopefully you landed on a colour that works?! :)

We're thinking of having elephants breath for walls and skimming stone for the trims in our small hallway, would that work?

Their paint names are unusually cute! Cheers for watching Sheri.

Elephant's Breath looks like a beautiful color, although not sure the name is very appealing!
HAHA! Yes, sometimes the names can be random, that's for sure. But at least they get people talking. :) Cheers for watching!
