In this course I’ll show you how to create this looping photo-real 3D animation in Cinema 4D, which I’m calling the Jellybean Factory.
This kind of animation is super popular on Instagram and other social media at the moment so it’s going to be great for your online portfolio!
By the end of this course you’ll level up your Cinema 4D skills and be able to create your very own looping 3D animation.
All you need is Maxon Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects - don't worry if you don't have them because you can download a free domo to start learning straight away.
We’ll also cover everything step by step so you can easily follow along, including..
Modeling
Camera and Scene setup
Animation with effectors
Dynamics
Lighting
Texturing
Rendering
Compositing
Uploading to Instagram and creating animated GIFs
Bonus Octane setup
There’s also a Bonus lesson on rendering with Octane Render for all you hard core MoGraphers out there
Plus you’ll also get access to my project files so you can break them down and see exactly how it was done.
That’s it for now, let’s get started!

I'm currently getting further into C4D and getting starter with Octane render so I've registered for the 2 months Skillshare trial to follow this lesson and I was amazed on how you made simple and clear and yet with tons of useful information and knowledge. Thank you sir!
That's awesome Gus, So glad we could help! I've got a few more courses in the works and loads more tutorials on the way, you'll be a pro in no time;) btw we're starting our first ever monthly challenge tomorrow if you want to get involved, here's the details bit.ly/2LeJfhN thanks for watching!
You made me finally sign up for Skillshare, loving it so far :D
It's great isnt it, I did a huge binge when I signed up for the first time, some great stuff on there. Im hoping to do a lot more courses if people dig this one. Cheers
Following on skillshare, awesome mate.
Cheers Wardy! If you didn't already know about it we now have a Facebook Group if you'd like to get involved facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts. Thanks for watching!
Really hope you can make the whole c4d tutorial for the beginners rather than project based video. Beginner need to understand why and what to do better than how to do. Thanks.
Hey big rabbit, did you try the course? I cover things in a lot more detail there with beginners in mind. I find project based teaching to be better then just running through all the buttons and technical stuff. We have a prety diverse audience of beginners to pros so I'm hoping to cater for everyone. I'm still working full time but as we grow I'm hoping to put more time into making classes for you guys, hopefuly some good ones coming in 2019! Thanks for watching!
Very Cool !!!!
Cheers mate, not sure if you already have, but you can watch that for free here skl.sh/2ONN6GY Thanks for the comment!
Super Dave
Thanks mate! Let me know if you end up watching it;)
yas it's super and perfect tutorial
and i worked on it,
Fantastic! Would love to see what you end up creating!
Just signed up for Skillshare last week, so this is perfect!
Question: I know octane is optional, however should I bother w it if I'm on mac? I believe octane requires nvidia not amd. Also, if i switch to pc, what should I buy? Thanks.
Nice, I signed up pretty recently too, some great stuff up there! As far as I know you will need a GPU that has CUDA architecture witch to my knowledge is only an Nvidia thing. I've heard people customising their macs to get on of those in but Apple is a bit of a closed ecosystem (which is why I switched back to PC) If you're a profesional artist I'd recommend it as it is soo much faster and frees you up to concentrate on being more creative. But again it realy depends where you want to go in your career or hobby (because those GPUs arent cheap either;) But then neither are macs...
Hello just found your channel great stuff here! I am using a older version of cd4, R13........ Can i Still follow along? keep up the great work!
Welcome to the channel Andre! A lot of the tutorials should be fine in R13 although the latest version is quite a bit different so maybe future tutorials might be difficult in older versions in C4D, lets see how you go;) BTW If you didn't already know about it we now have a Facebook Group if you'd like to get involved facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts. Thanks for watching!
Hello! I'm really enjoying the tutorial but during the texturing stage, in the parameter of the random color effector, there is no "On" in the color mode section. I've tried the other options like "Field color", "Custom color", and "Effector Color", but none of them work. I'm using R20.030. Any advice on how to get that random color on the jelly beans?
Hi Ahmed. Glad you're liking the course mate! I can confirm that the color mode needs to be 'Effector Color' in r20. Let's continue this conversation back on Skillshare or Udemy rather than here or you can email me dave(at)cgshortcuts.com and I could have a look at your project;)
Ok i figured out :) I baked beans again and solved :)
Hello. i have a problem when i hit start and the plain move, the beans staying away from Jar! the beans go through away the jar. please help me to fix that. thanks
Hi mate, sounds like an easy fix. I can help you out if you post the question on the course platform (Skillshare or Udemy) Thanks for taking the course!
Wish you made a tutorial for this presentation
Nothing too fancy there mate, just have each part sliding right to left within a Null object. And I always render with Octane for speed and quality;)
@@CGShortcuts no doubt but the lighting is still on point. Would love to get an insight how to create such clean, defined, soft looking render
@@CGShortcuts I agree, I would definitely love a tutorial on how you modelled, textured (mostly the texturing part since there are a lot of those in the scene) and lit that scene, it looks really cool! Also, I really dig the stairway animation.
Hello. Please tell me what system requirements were your PC at the time of writing this course and what are the minimum requirements?
Hi All, you can see my specs here: www.cgshortcuts.com/faqs/ minimum requirements will depend on what renderer you intend to use
Sir please teach more about entity rendering, sometimes I can made, but I don't know how to render.thanks
Hi mate, not too sure what you mean by 'entity rendering', do you just want to know about rendering in 3D in general?
Yes,the rendering at the beginning of your video is very good.
Cheers Jinyi, if you sign up for the free class here skl.sh/2ONN6GY there's a whole section dedicated to rendering in C4D standard and Octane render. If you get through the course you'll be able to light just like I did in that scene;)
Did someone have a problem at the time of copying the clone bean with the mograph cache? At the moment of putting the offset in -60 the beans move with a bit of delay coming out of the glass. I do not know what I can be doing wrong.
Hey mate thats an easy fix, are you enrolled in the Skillshare course or the Udemy one?
I have the same problem. What was the fix?
Hi, First of all thanks for share. Secondly, i did all you said in tutorial but there is a problem with randomize bean colors. It didn't worked. My C4D is R19 and untill to random effector that was ok but i don't know what to do now. Please help me. Thanks in advance
Hello. Same problem with R19 on Mac. Did u find the solution?
Okay, just need to re-bake MoGraph Cache tag, strange that author didnt do that and his tags still active and scene cached
@@krutofalov thanks a million !!!
Woowww
Cheers Yogi, hope you find it useful mate! If you didn't already know about it we now have a Facebook Group if you'd like to get involved facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts. Thanks for watching!
@@CGShortcuts sure sir
Im having an issue with after we have copied the Beans, making (beans copy), changing the offset to -60, changing the
number of frames to 60 and hitting play. The beans copy seem to be having the spring delay applied to them? Its making them lag behind making the beans come through the glass as it moves. I really don’t know what I have done wrong. (r19)

Hi RJ, try the troubleshooting video which will walk you through this fix. Also please ask your questions via the course platform rather than publically on UA-cam

It's Facebook.com/groups/cgshortcuts Thanks for watching!
Hey mate, I answered your question in this weeks video ua-cam.com/video/S5W9F0UVpvQ/v-deo.html Hope that helps!
Ok now my beans aren't looping :( I copied and paste and set them up to -60 but green thing turned to red and not working. Please help
Hi Sezen, That's an easy fix, are you doing the course on Udemy or Skillshare? Would you be able to message me directly on whichever teaching platform? Or you can email me here and I'll get straight back to you cgshortcuts.com/contact/ Thanks for taking the course, sounds like you're almost finished!
@@CGShortcuts i am doing over Udemy. I write over there :) Thanks

Hi Kabir, welcome to CG Shortcuts. I'm hoping to build up a library of online courses to help new artists out although I've only been doing this for 6 months now;) You can check out our first course here on skillshare that will take you through some of the basics skl.sh/2ONN6GY I'd also recomend checking out Greyscale Gorilla, I learnt a lot from those guys;) And for support you can join our Facebook group facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts. Thanks for getting in touch!
awww I would love to be an intern for you, I'd really like that :)
haha, I'm flattered! I bet there's some great internships available where you are in the world Juan! Nice reel by the way, keep it up!

Doh, my first launch issue;) Just working with the folks at Udemy now to fix that. Should be sorted very soon, I'll reply again as soon as its up. Thanks for letting me know Mohammed!
Hey mate, that should be good to go now, let me know if you still have problems, and thanks again for the heads up;)
CG Shortcuts yup it's up now, i still don't have C4D as I'm still building my PC, instructions were perfect for a noob like me XD
