This world famous DJ template is used by the likes of Bassnectar and DJ Vadim. Designed to be used in all conditions the interface is extremely powerful yet intuitively simple. Easily mappable to ANY midi controller, this DJ template is the perfect tool to crush both dancefloors and mixtapes and can be mixed with either a DJ mixer or internally if you so desire.
Highpass and lowpass filters on virtual decks and selectable tempo-synched effects allow for creative control of your mix. 4 cue points per side and a turntable/CD-J style 'load on the fly' system of track organization complete with bpm, key and search tags ensure that your sets all come out spontaneous and unique, turning you into a DJ that can be danced to night after night after night.
The DJ Template can be mapped to any controller. Ableton Live is required. Premapped versions for the Trigger Finger and MPD32, APC40, and iPAD are available.

if you want more bang for your buck get the ill. methadolgy seminar it comes with the mpd and trigger fingger template and the guide to producing and the seminar is amazing.

@jneb748 the template is designed to have the user drag in clips from the browser rather than have the clips preloaded into the set.

just midi learn the appropriate pads to the dummy clips on the left and right auto channels in the MPD template :D
that won't work with the trigger finger one, but it will definitely work with the MPD one.

This is all great but how do you have just more than 4 cue points? I dont see how you could do a set with just this. The APC and Launchpad both can be moved around a live set. But how do you compensate for that with in this mapping?
@7:30, what is the fader mapped to? You say "loop", but is it an effect or what? I know how to do the smart knobs/faders, dummy clips, etc., but I'm having a hard time figuring out how you seem to be starting and modifying a loop on the fly, mid-clip.
@illGatesmusic What I mean more specifically is can you tell us how to set up our own punch in effects if we wanted to use them in other situations or how to make them from scratch.
I have the Akai MPD32 and, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, there are no vids that completely explain the Akai MPD32 thoroughly on UA-cam. There are only vids of people just making music without any detailed explanations, or no explanations at all, I know because I've checked. The only way to get that done, is to pay for expensive private courses. It's unfortunate, but true unless proven otherwise, so the only thing that my MPD32 is good for right now, is to collect dust.

It's not clear for me how to load the template and what happens once it's loaded... Do you load this on a midi track or an audio track ? And does this go on the tracks which contains my clips ? Thanks.
If i have a launchpad and a keyboard with knobs will the template work? just until i get my hands on a MPD
And what about the tempo between two differents tracks ? are the track automatically on warp and when you don't want to sync 2 tracks which have a bpm so different, you have a knob to slightly change the bpm ? (like if you'r playing a 80 bpm song and a 140 just after, you can speed up the next one to 160 ?)

I want to use an akai mpd32 with a numark mixtrack ii which has VDJ7, but akai uses ableton live, so what do I do? I can't be using both programs when I DJ, so is there an alternative?

I have a hard time changing the bpm of a song without it getting all fucked up. The warping on my songs just screws up the beats and stuff. Any tips?

downloaded template for MPD32...been trying to get it to work for 4 hours. Tried everything in Ill Gates instructions and searches online, even downloaded jbridge to try to get 32 bit Supatrigga to talk to 64 bit Ableton. Still not working...there's no vst, only a component file. It says compatible with Ableton Live 8 or greater but Supatrigga only works with 32 bit version of Ableton 9. I've tried everything I can think of but Ableton still won't recognize Supatrigga as a VST or AU. Any suggestions?
Josh LeBlanc I have found a solution 32-lives (www.soundradix.com/products/32-lives) I use the trial version and every thing feel good ... But the price is less cool : 99$
Josh LeBlanc you have to download Supatrigga MAC OS9 AND Mac OS X files. Then you have .component and .vst. After that use Jbridge or 32lives to bridge those and there you go :)

I just want to know how to set up punch in effects on an mpd because I have my own dj setup with a fcb1010 added to it. Can you just give me a hint if you wont tell us how?

ive used this template and dont understand it at all the fx pads continue playing and everyone just sounds fucked after !!! so confused
I have purchased this today (jameslovescode@...). Anyway, I can't get this to work. In the PDF you say to select Preset 1 or 5 on the MPD but they don't work. My preset 1 is LiveLite and my preset 5 is ApplidAc. I don't have an MPD template on my MPD. Any ideas on how to get this working?
