Thank you for another great video. It would be interesting for you to print on these pei sheets for a few weeks or months and then do a follow up video to see how well they hold up. In my experience some pei sheet wear out quickly while others last forever. Sometimes the prints take chunks of pei with them over time.
Good suggestion. Sometimes you can refresh PEI with some acetone (but not too much, max 1-2x per year). Also a steel wool can help too (officially suggested by WhamBam)
Glass till I die. Since I put ABL on all my printers now and I use baby steps I have no issue with glass beds. I was pretty good at manual leveling too so I never really had issues then either, but you are right, you need to get the z offset just right. Edit: Nice to see you using the SP5 Igor. Still love mine.
SP5 is great printer for the price. I had several problems with mine, but after fixing those errors, it works great. Bowden could be shorter, maybe ill upgrade to direct drive.
I bought one of these(not this exact one) with the same type of adhesion and like a week of using it for ABS the adhesive had come off from the aluminium bed. Very frustrating. I have just gone back to using clips.
3M tapes are good, should survive 100°C ABS bed. Not sure about clones. But if clips works, you are good with that too, at least you have less layers between heated bed and print surface :-)
I'm searching double sided high temperatur stickers 220mm Diameter disc (or square form) versions, that can be put between the steel plate of the heating bed and a Glas plate or other material that could be put on the heater. I'm totally beginner and couldn't find out wher I can get them or what this sheets are called. Uk shops or amazon or Aliexpress 😔
Hey man. You should email Andy over at two trees. He's a cool dude and really helpful. My Sapphire SP5 came with that. It's a high temperature sticker that covers the whole bottom of the glass and sits between the glass and the aluminum bed. He might be able to tell you what it's called. My dumb ass peeled it off when I first got the printer, luckily it went back on perfectly without any bubbles.
havent cleaned my E3v2 glass-bed for over 6 months. No leveling for over 3. Just dust off, no alcohol.
Once a month 0.5 second spray of 3DLac.

Waiting to see where those timing belts will be used 😉
PEI stuck to a glass sheet is best surface.

@@dangerous8333 thanks 😊👍
Could I use gass bed and PEI bed in the same print?
On same 3D printer, yes but not at the same time
And more and more people are using plastic blade scrapers for removing 3d prints
The orange Razor Blade types.
That makes sense, they will not damage the surface.
