History Hunters Can’t agree with you more. Well said! The campaign to Indoctrinate this country’s children didn’t seem to be on the forefront in the 70’s and 80’s like it is today. An all out mainstream assault to indoctrinate today’s youth with Marxism and Socialism! I know I learned of Luther Burbank in Elementary school, of course I was born and raised in Santa Rosa and I can remember field trips to Luther Burbank’s gardens. I wonder if kids in Santa Rosa are still being taught about Burbank gardens or not?
Dear Jeff and Sarah, 16 September 2020. The 84 year old Australian again. Marie and I will view this YT video tonight. My wife is a gardener, her specialty are succulents and cactus for about sixty years with thousands plants in her cactus house. I will ask her if she knows about the Burbank potatoe. Gardeners are wonderful people. They have what most of us don't have, PATIENCE! Thanks for your continuing efforts Jeff and Sarah. Juan in Brisbane.
Thanks Juan! Sarah had her own garden this summer with squash and zucchini coming out of our ears! I’m sure your wife has heard of the Burbank Russet Potato. Let us know later if this man was all news to her!
Great video! I am thanking Luther Burbank and God...not necessarily in that order...for such wonderfully creative plant varieties. Thank you for taking us along with you to the Burbank Estate.
I was born and raised in Santa Rosa myself. Graduated from Montgomery H.S. In 1996. I live in Portland Oregon now and your right Santa Rosa doesn’t get much recognition. Santa Rosa seemed like it was huge growing up. 56 miles North of San Francisco. Santa Rosa the last city considered part of the Bay Area. Great city to grow up in. Been to Luther Burbank’s home many times growing up. Elementary school field trips and I heard he was buried somewhere in his yard. And he didn’t want a gravestone to mark the spot of his burial. Damn nice city, Santa Rosa California.
It's refreshing to also recognize and appreciate some positive achievements from our countries history. I didn't know much about Luther Burbank until today and he was an amazing man for sure.
