I like that Metallica is constantly stretching their music. It may not always be popular with some fans but the striving and the effort is highly appreciated.
The connection between James Hetfield and the audience was uncanny, and who else can switch guitars and guitar styles so quickly during a live show. I know there are a few others but not many.
Always leaves a deep impression in me when I hear it.
I'll be 46 yrs old in August and this song still makes a huge impression on me it did as a teenager the first time I've heard it WOW

He kind of doesn't put his all into the singing in this performance.
This is my first time watching this Metallica performance as well. All I can say is, surely Kirk Hammet must have noticed before this song that his guitar was way out of tune. To me the instruments being in tune is a HUGE part of the performance. Kirks guitar sounded awful. I personally always check my tuning in between songs. As much as I love Metallica and this song, this performance was bad in my opinion. But, maybe non-musicians wouldn't notice it. I don't know. But to me Kirks guitar sounded horrible. Great reaction though.
It's not that Kirk's guitar is out of tune, it's more the amount of vibrato and string bending he uses. Tbh it's always been a problem with Kirk, and his bends and vibrato always sound a bit off, it's just way more noticeable in slower, quieter perfirmances like this.
I was looking for this kind of comment. I totally agree. That was a horrible performance. From Kirk's out of tune guitar to the pointless and annoying drum fills...
Not bashing Lars but he wont even be on time for his own funeral...
There are versions with better vocal performances... kinda distracting here
