Because the prophecy isn't just dealing with Jesus. The virginity aspect doesn't apply to the child being talked about in the context of the matter, and the other details don't deal with Jesus. Discern can not accept this fact of scripture, that the prophecies are cut up in to pieces, Isaiah 14 being ALL OVER THE PLACE with what applies to what, because it completely destroys his only , aha, "arguments" , and then he wouldn't look too justified in his rancid hate for God.
This is really fascinating! :D I'm used to thinking about the bible as stories that came from roughly the same time, from the same group of people, who worked together, but it's more like an anthology of fanfiction. Trying to make all scripture fit together is like trying to make all Frozen-fanfiction fit together. :) It would be interesting to watch a video on how they decided to edit the bible, and decide what books to keep. ;) Great video!
Yeah, the hard part, especially for those that grow up in christianity, is remembering that the books are by different authors written at different times who even had different theology. You become so used to clumping it all together that you don't realize that certain authors never said this or that, and they may have even disagreed with other authors. You're right, Christian apologetics is like trying to harmonize fan-fiction. As for the construction of bible, maybe have a look at some talks by Bart Ehrman, particularly on "Misquoting Jesus".
I wouldn't be surprised if a number of women did this back then.. it's not implausible given those oppressive jewish laws. And since it was a pretty hellenistic society, people might have been inclined to believe their stories. I personally don't think this was the case with Jesus though, since the virgin birth idea seems to have been an afterthought. Like an apologetic made up to deal with the fact that Jesus was supposed to be sinless. Same how catholics later made up the "immaculate conception": the idea of Mary being somehow born without sin.
I think much of it has to do with Romans wanting to keep up with pagan ideas and to also absolve themselves of killing Jesus. Who else would benefit from turning Jesus into someone who died for everyone sins? Romans they who persecuted Jews and Jesus were probably putting this stuff together and thinking...oh wait...we can't have that in the book! It's gonna make us look bad. Here let's turn Jesus into a human sacrifice. The whole be celibate comes from Paul which has also led to many shady behaviors from priests. I do also think the virgin birth was just a mis-translation perhaps even deliberate and they went with it. Nowhere does Jesus claim he came to do away with the laws of God and nowhere does he say I have come to die on this cross to cleanse you of sin! If we were all cleansed of sins then why are we considered sinners? It makes no sense. There is also this "You are born of sin!" card that keeps being tossed out and yet in order to sin you must take an action to sin. I don't think babies are sinners. When Christians turn away from the definition of sin which is found in the commandments, from there, people tend to make sins up out of thin air. If a Christian doesn't like let's say bologna sandwiches...you are now a sinner for eating that. If a Christian is jumping on the anti-smoker bandwagon, you are now a sinner for smoking even though that is not apart of the commandments either. Romans have always persecuted Jews so perhaps the NT was a way for Romans to hijack Jewish faith and attach themselves to it as a form of persecution. Get as many people to praise Romans for killing Jesus, blame it on the Jews, cause more people to hate who they hate while wearing a smile and make billions bowing down before skeletons they call relics. In the bible it also talks about those preaching about lawlessness in revelation and the messiah tells them to depart from him. These people in revelations thought they were in good with the messiah but they were misled. The bible is an interesting book but it does have contradictions. If something has contradictions, something in the milk ain't clean and that is why you hear so many saying that you must believe the entire book or else! Then again if you quote a verse they don't like watch the fumble.

Your list at 4:17 - left side - has John written before Luke. But the opposite is likely the case, as John reverses Luke's parable about Lazarus (an unlikely coincidence the other way around), and John adds many people and events not found in the synoptic tradition. It looks like the placement of the gospels internal to the list (instead of much later) is the authors' desires, and not something based on any historical examination of the growth of ideas. And Hebrews, James, and 1 Peter are probably a lot earlier than presented. It's almost as if the two authors merely put the lists together based on what they wanted, instead of what's likely. Did they give any reasoning for their lists?
I agree: out of the two, I think the list on the right would be more accurate. Anyway, they were a couple known Christian scholars who had published their lists, so I went with it for ease of use and to help counter any claims of anti-christian bias.
Thanks, I use Premiere Pro. It's overkill for the type of videos that I usually do, but I like having fine manual control. If you get Premiere, you're basically just getting a tool to edit with, there's no easy templates or neat effects. Almost none of the effects in my videos come with Premiere. If I wasn't so fussed, I'd probably use one of those presentation programs. Something like Proshow Producer, Prezi or Powtoon etc.

Go out into the whole world and make disciples - Jesus words and last part of book of Matthew. He came to his own but his own rejected him - thereby salvation was given also for the Gentiles through the blood of Jesus Christ.
