Beech Mountain Bike Park 2021 NEW Trails lead to a BIG CRASH!

- After last weekends trip to Beech Mountain Bike Park for opening weekend ended in a slopfest, I was stoked to have a day of good weather to check out some new trails! I brought my buddy Nolan (IG @Biking.Central) from Kolo to show me some lines and provide some stoke! The day was full of big sends and progression... unfortunately it ended with a big crash so make sure to stay tuned till the end for some carnage on black mamba!

I rode a trail that went down very far and it was very convenient that there was a lake right there, filled with gators… I turned into a tree at the last second lol

Raccoon mountain. It was awesome and I didn’t die. Had some pretty good crashes, but bounced right back up. I just wanted to keep going. Arm pump was a bitch though. 🤘

For others watching, the blues are wayyyyy smoother than the green line they have. The green will rattle your teeth out of your head. Even for beginners, like myself, I would recommend to skip the green and do the blues. You can always slow roll those jumps on the blue lines. My first time down the green almost had myself dissuaded, my hands were numb after one time down. So if you're thinking about trying this out and you aren't quite sure, the blues are very manageable and more enjoyable than the green!

The green trail gets blown out quickly with braking bumps as a lot of the riders on that trail are more beginner and need to brake more. The blue does have one section that I would advise newer riders to scope before riding on the bottom but overall very fun trail!

First time riding DH was actually at Beech in 2017 … they didn’t have Black Mamba but I managed to ride all the blues and a few of the blacks … back then they had a sick 6-8ft rock drop right at the bottom before you got to the lift that was super fun…
Since then I’ve ridden beech, Massanutten, Bailey’s and snowshoe WV a few times and Snowshoe is HANDS DOWN the best of the bunch - you gotta get out there if you haven’t already 🤘🤘🤘

so if i was looking to get into the sport, which type of bike should i be looking at? ive searched day and night the past several days and theres just soo many to choose from... ment for different things. should i be looking for a downhill bike,XC bike, enduro bike, hardtail or dual suspension? trying to stay around 1k or less. would the diamondback astroz 2 be suitable for this type of riding? thanks.
I know that it maybe easier said than done, but..., Would a " foot out, flat out" , save that left turn after the drop?

Those new features were done so poorly. Bummer your buddy got hurt. So many of the homies from the area slammed on those things. Terra Tek redid a LOT this year and it's a million times better now
When I first saw that berm in person I was there is no way you can make that turn easily with out almost coming to a full stop somehow. It’s need to be way bigger of a berm to handle the speed
