    I'm in the "no smoke" category, like Gail Banks. I don't like watching my money go out the tailpipe for no additional power. Keep up the good work!

      Appreciate it, i did do a milage comparison over a few tanks.
      Oe nozzles i got 45mpg
      .205 i got 42mpg
      Im sure a tune would affect both of those numbers

    Excuse my horrible english.
    I have a suggestion for you:
    I own a Seat Cordoba AHU converted into AFN and is a very easy task. The turbo punch is more pregressive, but the final power is much bigger.
    Anyway, if i´m not wrong, you switched the 0,190 AHU noozles into a 0,216. AFN noozles are 0,210. To get more power, you must increase the fuel quantity moving the upper case of the fuel pump and checking it with the VagCom.

      @SmithsEuro  Місяць тому +1

      No problem on the English lol
      I did adjust the pump top already, i never bothered messing with the gear timing.
      Everyone ive talked with told me a tune is the best option for the power. Just haven’t had the time or money to get one

      @@SmithsEuro if someday you can (and want to) tune it, feel free to ask (even to me). These engines resist 1.4/1.6 pressure bar with the stock configuration and that allows you to get up to 180 hp with just an easy-to-find turbo, bigger noozles (like yours), fuel quantity adjustment and a ECU reprogramation.
      Hope someday see that golf hardly tuned.
      Have a nice day.

    nice work. i'm planning to do this to my 1999.5 jetta tdi soon

    I’m not surprised you didn’t get much smoke, i believed the stock nozzles are .205 on the manuals and .195 on the automatics. So .216 isn’t much bigger at all. Like barely. You really should’ve went with like a .260 or .280, those are some decent size nozzles and would definitely give you more smoke. Full on coal rolling. But you’d probably want a tune after going that large. I’m currently running Gibonta .320 nozzles maxed out on a 2260 turbo. But running them close to the max and tuned for minimal smoke

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  7 місяців тому

      My buddy thought they were the .260 didn’t find out they were.216 until i went to install.
      Eventually i did get .260 and smoked more but not a ton.
      I was waiting to get it tuned, everyone says thats the way to get it.
      But just haven’t had the time/extra money for the tune.

    i don't have dyno numbers, but apparently 0.205 nozzles in MK4 injector bodys and even the stock 90hp MK3 nozzles will deliver more fuel at less smoke than when installed in MK3 bodys according to a couple of blog posts i have read.

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  Рік тому

      Forgot to mention in the video that they are mk4 injectors.
      I think a tune would help it out more, i checked injection timing and it was almost maxed out. I left it there.

    I give you credits for the installation process, not a fan of coal though.

      I just like it too look like a freight train now and again lol
      Would be cool to see the new diesel nozzle technology in these.
      If you ever watch power driven diesel they make tons of power with special nozzles and dont smoke

    Looks good! Gotta do this to my girls mk4 alh. Probably will just go for new injectors in general. Im interested in chatting with you about megasquirt on your vr6 though too! Getting ready to go pnp and would love to find a base tune to work off of.

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  Рік тому +1

      If you buy a pnp setup from kptuned he sends you the base file.
      If you are making your own the settings are the biggest thing to go through.
      I figured it out myself going there tons of forums/posts
      I was going to make a base tune video but never got around to it.

    • @tukudikapup
      @tukudikapup Рік тому +1

      @@SmithsEuro yeah I actually have a kptuned setup but bought it second hand. Still have to get tuner studio… but if you have a base file handy I’d love that. I’ve dug around a bunch also.

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  Рік тому

      Get tuner studio, its worth paying the 60$ over the lite version
      Plug into it and see if you are locked out.
      If you are not, just simply change injector settings and youll be good to go.
      The laptop i used is a turd id have to pull it off of that. Not sure when ill be able to or how to post it.

    Adjust iq in vcds to get more smoke my rabbit was at 1-1.2 iq and it blew too much smoke. I changed it to 3-4 iq and it doesn't smoke much anymore

  • @davidhenderson9197

    Ive got a 1z tdi conversion in my t4 and want to put .0216 nozzles in but concerned about the smoke as dont want it to fail emissions come mot time. A remap will be on the cards too but not just yet. Am i likely to get loads of smoke without a remap? 🤔

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  Рік тому +1

      Honestly without a remap its not that bad. I have them in now, but you dont get full performance and i lost about 4mpg.
      With a remap you get and ungoddly amount of amoke

    • @davidhenderson9197
      @davidhenderson9197 Рік тому +1

      @SmithsEuro so you get smoke with the remap? I thought It went away with the map lol 😆 how much bhp would I be expecting to get with just the nozzles alone? 🤔

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  Рік тому +1

      @davidhenderson9197 every one ive seen has been a preposterous amount of smoke.
      With no tune, the power increase is barely noticeable.
      You notice more power by advancing your IP

      If it missed id know they didn’t pop lol
      They moved free so I figured they’d work.
      i had another used set of nozzles the plungers were seized.

    'its not a lot of smoke' 'it is, isnt it? just a little bit?' 'we wanted more honey' 'why?' 'cuz its fun' lol young kids having more class and common sense than the average adult male. (no hate here lol i got .205's for mine)

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  7 місяців тому +1

      Seems a tune would make it smoke more from talking with a bunch of people
      I put .216 nozzles in after these, got more smoke but nothing like we wanted.
      Ill get a tune one day for it.
