I've watched superlek sparring against all types of people and people who aren't even fighters, and what I've seen is superlek is never serious in those sparrings especially those in footage, the only one feeling how skillful is superlek, is the one fighting him in Real fight, who ever thought haggerty would be knocked out in 40 seconds.
Yes. And you don’t know the circumstances Superlek may be overtrained training hard in camp, other guy fresh for some fun sparring. Gabriel promoting people to have a false sense of their skill level as you never know the opponent’s circumstances
Because Gabriel beat an out of prime Lerdsila in kicboxing after studying him intensely for a while, Gabriel has a false sense of skill comparison with elite muay thai fighters.
Superlek knocked someone's tooth and busted another dude's face with a flying knee. But-hey-I guess it's okay as long as Superlek apologizes, smiles, and acts all touchy and laughing.
I think one thing to keep in mind is that like you said, at the highest levels the skill difference is smaller, but starts to become more apparent the further the fight or sparring goes. A lot of people could look good and possibly even get the better of Superlek in one round, two rounds, etc but the longer it goes the more the skill difference is going to show. This is something Danaher has pointed out in super fights like Mayweather vs McGregor, or even grappling matches. Conor was able to even take the first few rounds off Floyd, but good fighters adapt to lesser orthodox fighting styles and eventually the technique gap shows.
I remember Josh’s dad Vince when he ran kick-boxing classes in the Queen Mother Sports Centre in London, England during the nineties. His dad was a really good fighter and coach also.
Gabriel-I started watching your channel and applying your philosophical approach to sparring and fighting. Wow! I’m 52 and most of the people I have to go against are between 21 and 38. I grew up in martial arts, took a long break and came back at 50. Needless to say it has been a challenge, but your ideas and teachings have taken me from being decent to dominating my opponents. Last night, I went pretty much untouched with the exception of dropping my right hand and eating a round kick to the head. Thank you, brother. I appreciate you and what you are giving to us every time you create a video.
Perfect timing Gabriel and in my opinion Jauncey did pretty well against Superlek. My coach just today told me I should start going to different gyms and learn new things from each gym to become a much, much better fighter and to also spar with them to see how good am I compared to others! Amazing video non the less! 🥊
Small differences in sparring can be big differences in a real fight. Not saying perse in this case but just in general. For example Mayweather also said that he sometimes has a hard time in sparring with certain guys but when it really matters in a fight he is way better than those guys. And you also have guys who are world beaters in the gym but don't perform well under the bright lights
Superlek is absolutely not the number one p4p striker in the world lol. Thai guys in general are super basic with what they throw. Round kick, teep, 1 2 lol. I'd have to give that to one of the Japanese kickboxers. I won't say which one, but one of them. Superlek is wild and spammy. That's why they gave him takeru instead of a better Japanese guy. But anyways back to the video.
Superlek is one of the best kickboxers in the world (considering how good he looked against Takeru). While also being probably the best Muay Thai guy in the world p4p right now. There is no way any kickboxer is p4p a better striker than him.
@AlfredBundy LOL takeru is one of the worst bud, what are you talking about? You cleary don't know kickboxing. Someone like yoza would completely dominate superlek. And a number of other Japanese kickboxers. Takeru is literally on the bottom of the list. Thats why they gave him takeru and not the others.
@ArtistDaynz90 Takeru is absolutely one of the best kickboxers. Sure, there are people better, but acting like he isn't up there is delusional. On top of that, the best kickboxer doesn't equal the best striker. Superlek is probably the p4p best muay thai guy right now while also being able to dominate world class kickboxers in their own sport. No kickboxer comes close to being as good of a p4p striker as Superlek.
@AlfredBundy yes plenty do. You just don't know kickboxing lol. You don't even know who Yuki Yoza is, or you wouldn't be saying any that. Takeru is basic as hell and not even top five kickboxers. He literally got spammed leg kicked by superlek and lost lol. All he does in every fight is left hooks and right hooks. Superlek doesn't dominate kickboxers. He has never even faced a top five kickboxer. Just tell me you are on his sack and move on. IDC.
Superlek has championed multiple divisions and weight classes of the world’s largest martial arts organization and is regarded as one of the most proficient technical fighters in the muay thai world. Thai guys always spar very playfully and basic because you develop muscle memory and secure your techniques when you have fun and consistently strike with the same techniques repeatedly. But what would I know, after all you train kickboxing in your living room once a month.
Quality differs, but gloves are very much a preference. Everyone's hands and wrists differ, some gloves are tighter or looser, some gloves are bigger and more padded, some are less padded. Remember to always weigh your gloves before or after you bought them.

@@PJSC1 what I want to say that no one can stand a chance against superlek, don't believe this sparring footage.

@user-pd9ju5dk5s yeah 💯

Saw this footage and noticed Superlek doing the rhythm step/reset often that people often criticizes Haggerty for. Wonder why that is.
Hmm. Maybe because it was good, but for haggerty, it became a habit, a tell
I'm surprised Josh didn't become a champ with such wicked low kicks.
Great boxing as well. Very high level fighter
Wicked kicks are enough dear, in the ring, opponents are always moving and won't stand still waiting you to unload your kicks 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@ ooh, tell us all something else that even a 5th grader knows intuitively.
4:58 I don't think this kickboxing math is working out.
Superlek did not spar to win here.

Gabriel "MGK" Varga
The real Machine Gun Kelly
that's insulting to Gabriel 😂
Do you think neon green/yellow on your opponent is distracting in a fight?
is that Niagara falls in the window
theyre using 16oz gloves?
Standard in all kick/thaiboxing gymns I have trained for training/sparring.
Nico Carillo is a straight up weight bully 😂 Could be a tough battle for Superlek. I'll be so sad if Superlek loses
❤

Rockin review. Nurgle Bless 🙌

You should start doing reviews of gloves, Gabriel, it would help us A LOT!
