    I know the sound is quite bad in places due to the wind, I will work on this for future videos! :)

    It's great to hear more about where you live. 🙂 One of the biggest things I found hard to wrap my head around when I went to England and Europe was the depth of history that's everywhere. It's almost overwhelming at times. That rock and Castle are both really big!

      I grew up in Liverpool and the church we went to for Christmas carol concerts as a wee girl ,it was built in 1088 !

    Nice video with some interesting folklore, I've walked up past the Drake Stone and right along the Harbottle ridge to the delapidated farm cottage and back through the woods to Dove Cragg and into the village. It's a beautiful place.

      Hi Ppsychobilly Jim, I am descended from the main line of Harbottles having traced them back 16 generations to Robert Harbottle who built Preston tower in Northumberland, my Mother was a Harbottle and we were born in Northumberland,we are also related to the Percy's earls and Dukes of Northumberland. Hope you check up on the History of our pedigree.👍

    You obviously have a Northumbrian accent so why are you rounding your vowels into a posher accent? Don't ever be ashamed of where you are from.
    Cheryl Tweedy never attempted to mask her accent & it never did her any harm, did it?
    Best regards.

      I’m not ashamed of where I am, I’m incredibly proud of it which is why I make videos like this. This is the way I talk sometimes online because I have a lot of international viewers and English is not their first language, so I speak more clearly to make it more accessible and share this widely.

    • @rosiemason-rk4cm
      @rosiemason-rk4cm Рік тому

      @@Lunaleodrune You almost certainly have considerably fewer "international viewers" than Cheryl Tweedy, yes? But she wouldn't change her accent for anybody, would she? Did that do her career any damage? I don't like any of Cheryl's music OR any of the TV programmes she made BUT I do admire her for being proud of where she is from & refusing to change. People with a Geordie accent who try to sound posh sound absolutely ridiculous. You ARE aware of that, aren't you? As long as you speak slowly & clearly most people will have no problems with your accent so stop being so false.
      Best regards.

      @@rosiemason-rk4cm I don’t care about Cheryl Tweedy 🤣 I’m so proud of where I’m from and I shout it from the rooftops and make content to show this lovely area. Why nitpick on someone who is trying to do something nice? I know from experience how my accent affects international folks from being a language student my whole life. Also I sometimes pronounce more Ts to be clearer but I don’t actually change my vowel sound, that is the way I speak. I am from the North East but not Northumbria.

      @@Lunaleodrune You put on a false accent & fakery of any description really rubs me up the wrong way. If you really were proud of where you are from then you would also be proud of the local dialect, would you not? This is obviously not the case so, to me, the sincerity of all that you do is brought into question. If local dialects are not used then they will die out & that would be a tragedy to me. I bet you even say "mud" instead of "clarts" & you call a male sheep a "ram" & not a "tup". I'm right, aren't I?

    • @Lunaleodrune
      @Lunaleodrune  Рік тому

      @@rosiemason-rk4cm I don’t use the word clart or tup as I have never heard these words. I’m not Northumbrian. I can’t imagine putting my time into spreading negativity and online especially to someone who is just being happy and trying to share interesting knowledge. Please go and find something productive to do with your life instead of being mean.
      I’m proud of where I’m from, this is the way I talk 🤷🏼‍♀️ accent is more than location, it comes from your upbringing and people around you, you have no idea about my life. I’m also autistic and that affects speech and accent, so leave me alone.
