Same here, I never even had an H.S. Diploma when loan was issued and failed the CLAST Scoring. And why did I buy insurance for a bank that no longer exists whom got repaid? Total predators on young folks, who are now retired 🤬
I'm surprised there wasn't any mention of the payment miscalculations for the SAVE plan. I have spent roughly 15 hours on the phone over the past two months with them to get the correct monthly payment. They were charging my husband 3X what he should have been paying each month. It might be worth explaining payment calculations to subscribers especially for subscribers with spouses also holding federal student loans.
Wished y'all touched more on buyouts. Mohela is not helpful whatsoever on this issue. They can't even get the amount straight or offer a letter of buyout😡
I concur with a point the presenters made on having to resubmit several times just to get things done with mohela. I literally had to file four letters and a 12-month period to get my PLSF count updated. That was despite having proof several times. They actually had my employer certification forms. It's pretty sad.
No communication It's horrible. I qualify for being on disability , we didn't have teachers half the time, I've filled complaints for borrows defense on the department of education & no one has communicated. Since 2022
The AidVantage confused me. I actually ended up calling AidVantage after getting the first consolidation letter and telling them that the consolidated loan needs to.end up at MOHELA and they said it would. I don't understand why MOHELA can't process this.
So I planned to do my final FFEL/PPL consolidation with Mohela because I have some PSLF credits. but most of my PSLF credits were pre 2007. Yikes, is this not a good plan or should I go forward with it for the final consolidation process???
This sounds really discouraging for anyone wanting to go for PSLF… unless I misunderstood, doesn’t Mohela “take over” once someone moves towards going for/applies to the PSLF program? Do they take over your loans from another servicer?
Any updates for people affected by the income recertification debacle? I was one of the people confused into recertifying early in February: my payment increased significantly to over $1000. I called to have this corrected (i.e. "returned to my previous payment amount") and was placed in administrative forbearance while they fixed the issue. After 2-3 months, they had NOT fixed the issue, but took me out of forbearance and then generated a surprise auto-payment for over $1000 (the incorrect amount). I called to have this refunded in May and am still awaiting my payment correction and my refund... not to mention my wife has also been waiting for a correction in her account for a separate issue since January.
They bill borrowers then don't send bills informing folks. And they keep changing the amount you owe each month and blame you for not paying the amount you were actually supposed to pay.

I have more than 120 payments and I’m owed a refund.
