Songs used: Crossing Field by LiSA, Innocence and Ignite by Aoi Eir, Courage by Haruka Tomatsu
Sword Art Online created by A-1 Pictures based on an original Light Novel series written by Reki Kawahara. Series Owned by Aniplex and Kadokawa, and licensed for distribution by Aniplex of America.
I actually forgot that Kirito was first a loner at first, because after 3 episodes he turns into a charismatic man that every single girl falls for.
Yep just your every day shut in gamer who is perfectly socially adjusted
He Was a loner áll along the series. In every possible case he tried to avoid the help of others to the limit
@@matyaspiller3942 yes but the fact that in a social scenario he wasn't awkward he knew what to do. Which doesn't make much sense for a shut in gamer because we don't like interacting with people. Usually because we're bad at it
@@mightbeahumanmaybe247 You are right. Maybe he got some confidence and practice in the game. Or they áll did since they are áll supposed to be gamers somehow
@@matyaspiller3942 maybe? I mean it could have been an act to show other people that he is confident and it could have been a character arc where he gains more confidence but the show never does that.
"The OP manages to make it seem like she has a crush on BadGuy McRapeSuit." That almost killed me
Why do I feel like if that actually was the case, it would’ve been a lot funner, or at least funnier, to watch XD like a soap opera falling apart each episode lol.

It’s sad I feel more connected to the personalities of SAO abridged than the actual story, so much so I can’t remember what the original characters are like.
I feel like it's just cause, compared to sociality in 2012, abridged presents a normal teenager playing video games (and for some reason him being an asshole is relatable for any modern day teen, or at least I can)

I reason I liked the show at first was because I was still fairly new to anime, so I did not pick up on the common cliches.
Cashbag2012MC yeah, me too, but I still found myself bored with Kirito. I gave up on it after about 10 episodes, because I was bored to death, and decided 'let's try one more before I give up on anime.' Cashbag2012MC same. SAI was my first anime
Adin SAO was my 3rd anime, all my friends told me it was good, I found it very boring but watched it all hoping it was going to get really good as they said... it never did.

Now I coudnt bear to watch it considering Ive formed my own taste and critical perspective and standards about anime and entertainment in general
11:54 - Yeah, Klein was one of the best characters, second only to Asuna (before they screwed her up in Fairydance arc). Sad thing is, that the show doesn't acknowledge his existance most of the time, probably only because he is not a female. Really, his role 90% of the time boils down to being a comedic relief character and asking questions, so that someone can throw exposition at us. Ironically, he seems to have more personality than Liz and Silica

idk but take out the rape/pedo scenes and im fine with it. And give kirito some actual Flaws instead of making him a vegetable
"And OH WOW
OH GOSH
I WONDER WHO DEATH GUN IS"
I did not pay attention to the intro (to tell you the truth, I barely watched the entire episodes). I thought he might be the guy that Kirito killed to save Asuna. I wonder why they did not do it, they had two options: pick up a character we already know and give him some development, saying that he survived the Nervegear and lost the motor functions and now seeks revenge, or you can bring random characters that Kirito never mentioned and treating them as if they were great thing.
Alexandre Oliveira Arrais uhm, that wouldve been much better XD.
Alexandre Oliveira Arrais that's pretty good
Even his name is shit. Death Gun he has a gun that kills people well thought out.
I actually once came up with an edgy oc parody persona called deathgun as a _joke_ . Deathgun is the name of a character that you're supposed to take seriously as an antagonist.
“Starts at barely passable and only gets worse from there, except for Mother’s Rosario”
We talking about the openings or the whole anime here?
I liked SAO it wasn't exeptional but it was entertaining. But after the end of sword art online (the game) it was less interested. As if the real good serie ended at the episode 15 of the first season
@@grawa4278 well, the last season (Alicization) is quite good, even better than the first season when they were inside the game of Sword art online

@@A123ftw I cant say I particularly like the alicization arc, whilst it does do somethings better than previous series I thought it had way to much padding, I probably would've given up on it if I wasn't invested in the series as a whole.
@@zebimicio5204 I don't think the first point you mentioned us something better or a flaw which is fixed, yes he has other stakes but Asuna is everything to him the one who gave him reason to live and to complete the game for her in aincrad, and his highest stake and his most important priority will Always be protecting Asuna, he even didn't tell Asuna anything about Death Gun, because he didn't want to drag her to the danger and even in Alicization he cried seeing her when in coma he couldn't respond to anything else

Let's be honest, it's hard to put into OP more character development than there was in anime itself.
Agree but kirito doesnt have any personaly anyway so u can say they did a good job
+Peter Parker that's what he was getting at^^
now compare it to Overlord when we listen to the song about how main character slowly becomes insane being confused in the situation he got into while becoming undead when the visuals show us that all side characters are literally stepping stones for him. How's THAT for character development?
THEN DON'T XD
Well he doesn't really slowly go insane. He just kinda feels apathy towards other human beings. Whether or not that is considered insanity would be a case of ethnocentrism, as you cannot assume that an undead's culture would support human life, or excessive bias towards maintaining the former (as shown by cultural relativism).
Now, I haven't actually watched Overlord's OP, only read the first 9-10 light novels (with anime covering up to the end of the third volume), but I find the main character to be highly rational and reasonable.

TheVectorSilver She should've. It's dumb to think she was so butt hurt she assaulted another human in attempt to conform them to her thought process -_-
SAO was my first anime and was the anime that actually bought me into the "weeb world". the idea of season 1 was amazing because it talks about going into a virtual world but actually living in it and if you get killed by monsters and stuff, *well you die.* but season 2 onwards it just gets... *nani.* like the excitement and fear of "death" is gone and its just like any regular game honestly. I still like SAO that's a fact, but I still wished they didn't rush season 1 and throw Asuna's "character" (from S1 again) out the window. Also, the kirito harem annoys me. Not only cuz im an Asuna and Kirito shipper, but kirito mai boi ARENT YOU ENGAGED TO HER AHEM-
I can appreciate this because it's not just 100% negative hate, it's justified criticism. Hell, for the second half of the video, he's constantly chucking in little bits of props here and there, he's not hating, just saying that while he can begrudgingly admit SAO does have good qualities to it, there's still a TON to be criticized. This basically highlights why there is such a tear between people who say SAO is good, or at least enjoyable, and people who say it's absolute trash. To people like him, the details matter, since he understands deeper concepts of what a "perfect" anime should be like and qualities it should have. To people who don't care for such details, they can enjoy the interaction between characters (not so much the chars themselves cause come on, what is personality), animation, music, fighting, and concept of SAO, as a casual viewer. It's really a critic's nightmare, but a casual viewer's "fun thing to watch and not pay too much attention to while I have 20 minutes of nothing in my life"
Except Alfheim arc, if anybody liked Alfheim arc.... get help
Yes, I thought that too. For me, anime is never about just watching something to shut my brain down and have a little fun.
Many people dislike that approach for some reason, because they think it's snnobish and pretentious. I saw a guy comment he started reading more about Shinto mythology after watching Yuuki Yuuna, only to be told he was being a snob for daring to try to learn something new to better enjoy one of his favorite anime. Like WTF?
The Aincrad arc was acceptable as entertainment, at first, but got boring very fast and the resolution was totally stupid. The Alfheim arc (which I watched out of stubbornness) was disgusting in more ways than one. I don't care if they portray rape in an anime, it happens in real life, unfortunately, so it is available for inclusion in fiction. The problem for me was making Asuna, the only decent character in the Aincrad arc, a completely useless damsel in distress. That's an appeal to shounen-like male fantasies beyond even the god-like powers of Kirito ad totally disappointing (and I don't like tsunderes, mind you). After that, I didn't even bother with Gungale On Line.
Jorge Olea didn't know there could be positive hate
Im not a huge fan of this video, only vause it seems biased as hell throughout most of it
Mind you im not an sao fan, but i feel allot of people hate it only cause its cool to hate sao
I personally don't see anything wrong with hating something that isn't good. I think SAO is mistaken for being "overrated" because it has a fanbase just large enough to make a nuisance of itself. In reality a majority of anime fans think it's terrible, but a small minority of the "haters" really enjoy arguing with it's fanbase.
Also some people get a little too personally offended when a shitty thing gets popular. They convince themselves that the people who like it must be retarded when in reality they're either too new to the medium to have developed good taste or just not people who enjoy analyzing things.
SpadeDraco or you know those people get something out of it that you just dont
See thats problem with those who do hate sao constently like mothers basement here, they assume those who like the show are either new to the anime community or are just retarded
We are all humans with different teasts likes and dislikes
That sniper shot from High School of Dead... is that real? Like someone sat down and animated a sniper round flying between breasts unrealistically flopping around?
unfortunately, yes
Yup, and someone actually bothered to do the math regarding how fast her boobs would have to be moving relative to the speed of the bullet and found that if the scene were playing out in real time her boobs would be moving at more than twice the top speed of a fucking F-35 fighter jet. The more I think about it the more hilarious it becomes. Especially considering that at that speed her boobs would also be generating an extremely loud noise. Anime titty physics at its most extreme
Fortunately yes. High School of the Dead is a ridiculous fanservice and fun action scene story with no qualms about it.
I thought the three shadows surrounding Kirito were supposed to represent the three people he killed and his torment about it, not the three Death Gun culprits. I can see either being the case, but I still understand the point you were making.
It probably was, but also it's so poorly executed it accidentally spoils the twist about deathgun being 3 people.
*Badguy McRapesuit*
FBI OPEN UP!
Person: Kirito wouldn't do that! That's so out of character for him!
Me: what character is there to be out of lmao
Pretty much. I swear kirito is one of the most generic and inexplicably overpowered characters I've ever seen.
well DUH, how else can he be a teenage male's empowerment fantasy if he's not generic and overpowered?
Sezune Mizuhana if you know what overpowered means, you know that Kirito is no way overpowered
Animus Foster how is kirito "in no way overpowered" when he's called Jesus.
+Animus Foster Yeah I mean it isn't like he is the only character that used force of will to come back to life for one final attack in a video game where emotions such as resolve don't mean jack squat. It also isn't like he is the only character that can duel wield. Finally it is not like he only character who is a super programmer who can learn the entire code of a game in seconds to bring Yui back to life. (Which mind you having done programming myself I know it would be literally impossible.) Nope your right he definitely isn't overpowered in anyway.
There is underlying hidden meaning connecting all the openings - the MMO experience. Almost every MMO game has an attractive story and well defined concept until updates start pouring in and everything becomes generic.
Do you guys remember that time when Kirito called Asuna a friend even though he fucked her, lived with her, and took care of a child like it was their daughter? Good times
virtually
Guilherme Antônio i was pretty confused about them doing the dirty part, so did the game get their genitals? Its allowed to remove the rest of the clothing? Did they really make a very accurate scale of the human body?
Victorienne Tiu It made their bodies from a scan of their head. Its likely based on their own senses and knowledge of how they looked. Considering they never fucking explain the creators motives, why the fuck not have genitals.
Rainbow Dashtruction judging by the creators actions... I'd think he would have made it where they did have genitalia. He wasn't planning on going back, why not make it where they could get their rocks off.
Joshua Taft He made it using a company. Images of genitalia are illegal in Japan, so a 'why not' explaination doesnt really fit in SAO. Of course, no reasons ever given because the writer didnt think of one anyway.
Pretty art can't make up for horseshit writing

I never thought about those things in Ignite. Sorta glad I didn’t, I was a little surprised when I found out who death gun was and how he worked. I also watched mostly when I was slightly intoxicated or high. Kinda explains everything.
The fact that ignite beat Toradora actually Pisses me off badly. Why do people think it's that great?
Simple.....because there are more SAO fans that vote for ignite than Toradora's fans that vote for toradora opening
Pre-parade is way better in my opinion.
+Nobody Likes U. I say that Silky heart is better but that's just my opinion
+HungryCow64 same, I like silky heart more
+Nobody Likes U. Okay
The fact the opening beat Stand Proud from JoJo still pisses me off to this day.
The fact that *all* of JoJo's OP's got beat is blasphemy against all anime
I never knew OP's had any meaning just flashy crap I ignore after the first episode
same
Because that's pretty much what *all* OPs are...I've certainly always viewed them as nothing more than pretty/interesting visuals and a catchy/good song to draw you in.
8elementallords Nah not all. That's an exaggeration. A lot of Opening are flashy yes, but in many good amines, there is a lot of symbolism and foreshadowing. It's just that a lot of it is hidden or kept vague as to not spoil the show. For instance, JoJo's part 3 OP2 becomes much more crazy when you realize what the main antagonist's power is and how it was reflected in the OP. Hell, they even changed the OP to show that. Death Note has a lot of symbolism with some shots like Kira being Shadowed by his Shinigami revealing his corrupt nature and eventual death to the same Shinigami. While OPs are used to be flashy and appealing, a good OP is one that can introduce you to its characters and premise. SAO in OP1 just made all their characters brood because surprise surprise, they don't have any character. Compare that to Konosuba where the OP tells you everything about how each character relationships work, how each character has their own unique trait, and where it also reflects that sometimes they'll fail (and they do a lot which the OP emphasizes) but they will get one success at least. A good OP is supposed to introduce you to the entire show and give you a better sense of each character and the story.
The songs are usually good, too.
And then there's Gintama... Ooooh God... Look up Gintama op 9 fail. I don't think I'll need to say anything after you watch it.
You have to admit though that the actual music is really good, even if the actual opening animation isn’t actually deep in meaning
SAO is the type of anime you are supposed to watch while high af so you can go play skyrim afterwards and imagine that you are Kirito then get killed because you forget the controls and pass out on your couch thinking you died in real life because you can think anymore

i dont give a shit about SAO, but you know what, I've been getting really fucking tired of this anime purism lately
Purism?
+BinaryDood
Please explain what you mean by purism.
+BinaryDood Sorry for thinking critically.
+BinaryDood
Translation: I don't like it when people actually think about what they're watching
When you react to others thinking about their anime in such a way, it's no wonder that so many people hate the median. If it wasn't for people like BinaryDood, the entire industry would be much more widely accepted than it is now.
I wonder if he's seen SAO abridged and if he has what he thinks of it
He mentioned it in several Videos, never said a Bad thing about it.
@@Cardinal8427 I hope he reviews it
“Let’s make them suffer.”
I’m a fan of SAO and I genuinely enjoy your videos on it. The show is far from perfect and enjoy watching you pick it apart in ways I didn’t initially see when I watched it. It really helps to see someone else’s point of view on it to see some of the flaws I as a fan wouldn’t see. Still a fan of the show though but I think your absolutely right on most of your points, and I really like how you give examples of when they do things you critique them for. Really great stuff!
You didn't get all pissy and attempted ripped him a new one and instead. We need more people like you.
@@alabamanibs5828 indeed..
It's because of the criticisim that Reki Kwahara started improving his work (and do rewrite which is the progressive version).
If anything sao would be way better anime if the angsty 14 year olds didn't keep defending every thing wrong within the show.
Zebimicio And I know that. I may be a fan of the show but like I said it’s not perfect. The fan base is also far from perfect but that’s because to them they thoroughly enjoy it. SAO is also a really good starting anime for people who have just gotten into it. That’s mainly why I am a fan of the show myself, because it’s one of the first anime shows I watched and enjoyed. Although as of now I do prefer the abridged version by something witty entertainment.
Wow a mature SAO Fan.
i dont know if i am the only one who thinks that SAO would have been far better if Klein was the protagonist of the show instead of kirito
I agree.
Tbh i liked Klein more because Kirito is trash (in my opinion)
Caballero NEGRO YES: Fuck this gun gale online spinoff, and fuck alicetization or whatever. We want KLEIN. Klein deserves better and we deserve better. Ballsdeep69 ftw
Not at all the writer of the series is not very good and he would only end up making Klein worse
Caballero NEGRO No, because I don't want the damn writer to mess Klein up like he did with anyone else.
So much this
I'm so glad there's another human being in the world who's as much of a freak over OPs as I am.
+1
I like the music. It’s really good. That’s why I wish they would actually try to make a good intro.
And that's where post mothers rosario came in😂
My favorite part is that you put more thought in the OPs than the creators..
Just like any of the fans of the show.
+Deja Entendu true!
If they stoped sword art online after the first game I would consider it a descent anime but then they continued to the second game
unicornmeatman same
Yes, the author should have taken advantage of the 24 (24?) Episodes to make a single big bow from the first game. It could have a real development of the characters, more struggles with some strategy, minor characters have some importance ... When I first saw Yui I thought she was Kayaba's daughter, and I still think it would be very good. Imagine: the tension of caring for a monster's daughter, without letting her know what her father did. The villain is so simple that they could call him "Deus Ex Machina", because even he does not know the reason for creating the game. It does not have a deep story or something to justify it, it is a mere disappointment that a character who had everything to be an incredible genius is a mere device of the plot. It is not arrogance to say that I could recreate Sword Art Online in a better way, because it is not so difficult.
Finally, someone who understands
Yui is still not a good character though and she ruined it for me
same with Kirito's empty personality lol
Guess what there's a 3rd coming soon

Michal Mr. It’s not awful. It’s the best anime ever IMO
I feel this franchise would have benefited greatly from having character perspectives shift. Like how GGO followed a completely unrelated character dealing with her own issues. Following the Almighty Kirito as he Shonen-Protagonists his way through different games that he's just so totally naturally awesome at you guys until the plot gets bored and resolves itself is kinda boring.
"asuna giving up on ever being a good character" LMAO XD
"Sword Art Online is Worse Than You Think"
Wow, and I thought SAO was terrible to begin with.
Nice opinion bro.
***** and it's not fact.
I respect that other people don't like SAO. It was one of those shows I just stumbled on without ANY prior knowledge. I just found it on Netflix and gave it a watch, and I actually like it. Still do in fact, with Aincrad and Mother's Rosario being my two favorites. It's not perfect by any means, but remains one of my favorite anime to date. I find a lot of the pacing problems with Aincrad are being solved in SAO Progressive, which breaks down the time the gang spent in SAO.
I don't analyze openings as much as you do, but coming away from it I see what you are trying to say. I still find the openings enjoyable, mostly for the music, and if the opening gets me excited, then it's doing something right. That's all I look for.
+Darth Cinema you are the first person to have the same opinion as me for this show
Indeed
Good jib
+Darth Cinema Okay well you can enjoy it, that' your personal opinion. (Although if you say it's your favorite you CLEARLY haven't seen many good anime) But you can't say it's a great/good anime. Not implying you are saying that, but if you ever do be warned you will have to critically analyze it and then it just falls to pieces.
Zenith Wills Never said it was my all time favorite. It just happens to be ONE of my favorites. FMA Brotherhood is currently my favorite.
SAO was the first anime I ever watched, and the one that got me into it so I have a soft spot for it. Sure, it's not perfect but I like it. Although Toradora should've beaten it.
Same
never watched Toradora but yeah I do have a soft spot for the eariler seasons pf SAO
I tried to give SAO II a shot because of Sniper Waifu.
...I like Shinon, but holy shit why does she have to be stuck as a character in such a shitty anime.
that "give SAO II a shot" pun was pretty meta.
PEKCHEK_Jun Damn son. You got me.
She is your "Waifu" yet you can't even fucking get her name right...
Anonymous Hacker Sinon, Shinon, it's spelled both ways in different places. It's like yelling at someone for spelling "Kongou" over "Kongo".
Or saying "Akihiko Kayaba" instead of "Kayaba Akihiko"
Here's how 99% of people rate OP's: Is the song good? If yes, watch it. If no, skip it. An OP can be a nice window into the show, but most people don't see it that way, and I think most animators have caught on to that. So they all they really focus on is making a song that fits with the show, and some cool shot's. That's why SAO openings do so well in the voting, because most people really couldn't care less about how telling an opening is
+Dizzy Tackson it would be nice if every anime followed in the footsteps of Bakemonogatari and the rest of the Monogatari series when it comes to openings.
I dont watch OP's at all. Call it a bad/good habit.
I fall into the trap of whether or not I like the song. Sometimes, even when I like the song, I stop watching the intro. But I always watch an intro at least once. And one thing I know I hate is blatant spoilers. I'm thinking, "Well ok. That guy's the villain. Great. So much for that mystery."
if you're watching a series, and you don't skip the opening, you start to compare pieces in the opening to stuff you've been seeing in the show, and you start stringing things together to form sort of expectations on what you think might happen next. that, and sometimes the song is also pretty catchy. but different people look for different things, but that doesn't mean that openings need to be lazy either.
FeanixFlamage I do that too. All I'm saying is that most people don't, which is why the SAO openings always do so well in the votes on reddit
You know what would make this Anime better? A Decent story and better characters, The idea of an anime based off an MMO is good but the story was executed poorly and the Prontagonist is simply too strong for no reason and has no weaknesses unlike other prontagonist which makes him sorta boring and not that interesting
Not saying that i hate it, Just pointing out the few things that can improve the anime a bit
Ryuki Dragonheart Log Horizon and .hack.
***** Those are better anime haven't watched .hack yet
Ryuki Dragonheart .hack has an anime, but started as a video game made in Namco in the 2000s. Has a lot of nostalgia appeal to me, as I grew up in the 2000s myself.
***** Digimon was my favorite show growing up
I never even thought this deeply about OPs... and I must admit what you found boring, dull, and bad is what I found pretty interesting and great. Wow, I must thank you for letting us viewers get a much deeper understanding of what these OPs really meant.
I hate this anime's popularity soooo much, almost as much as I hate it itself.
Literally same.
I have only seen a handful of animes. they don't interest me that much, so I'd say I'm a pretty average person who has seen a few animes. For what it is, to the average person, it's pretty good.
What I don't understand is that if you don't like why are you spending time commenting on videos like this? No one cares if you don't like it, and no one should care if you do like it.
This reminds me of Justin Bieber. You can hate him all you fucking want, but he remains popular and his music really isn't that bad looking from the outside. Same with SAO, hate it all you want, but it's going to probably remain popular and you're opinion or comments won't do anything about.

SAO steals a lot of things it seems.
Michael Jensen Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised by that. The character designs are pretty generic and run of the mill, the premise has been done before (like one I read a long while ago, 1/2 Prince), and of course! Generic moe shots!
It even had a fucking crown over the heart logo. I'm done.
Check out the shot at 2:40 then go watch the very first shot of the 6th Kara no Kyoukai movie. Its pretty much the same thing.
Next thing you know, SAO would be all about Kiri to fighting a group of 13 A.I Data Copy of people who died in the franchise, which would be a great concept if you think about it...but then again, SAO has a reputation of making anything shitty.
Arashi Vallerioda Honestly, I don't think them touching on the ethics of VR would make the show interesting. They'd fuck it up somehow.
Soo I could watch the Mothers Rosario version with Yuuki and not have to watch any other seasons since you said it was a one-shot series?
Yes and is actualy good
The concept of a "moping wall" is so funny to me because I feel like I've seen it in so many openings.
The first half of the first season was nice, this you are trapped in this game and if you die in game you die in reality was thrilling, but the whole rest like Alfheim and gun gale was boring in comparison -.-
steven03048 I enjoyed gungale too, but Calibur and Alfheim were shit
I would have liked aincrad more if they incorporated the plot of joutunheim into it, so now they are pressed for time to beat the game instead of just camping about for 2 years
steven03048 it was such an interesting concept and I was attracted to it because that, but when they cleared the game halfway through the first season I was like wait that's it? I think we needed more of sao then some other stuff
really? i liked calibur ma dude. i love how Sinon has a bow now :)
steven03048 yup

yeah that's enough salt to kill you from high cholesterol! I like constructive criticism but everything he said felt so biased. At the very least he could have reworded some of his comments so that they were not hateful
The reason I started to hate this anime was because of how hamfisted they made the romance between Kirito and Asuna. If they wanted him to get with her, then spread it out a bit!
they did.
and by 'it' i mean 'her legs'
and by 'a bit' I mean 'as a venus fly trap for all horny 14yo anime fanboys (stunted or otherwise)'
eh I mean i kind of agree with Mother's Basement that them resolving Kirito and Asuna's relationship early was actually kind of good in that it was different from other Anime. Like it's weird that Kirito still had this kind of a Harem thing going on, but at the very least we could see what happens after the couple starts going out instead of ending the series on it or stretching it out cuz the couple doesn't know how to express their feelings to the point that the idea is tired out. Will they Won't they is a pretty stupid plot point nowadays anyway
i actually like the fact that sao doesn't drag it out there are so many will they wont they couples that i'm getting tired of it tired of waiting an entire season or even an entire series to see if they do indeed get together despite the fact that my favorite anime Toradora is focused on a will they wont they couple although many people argue that you can tell they'll get together from episode one but whatever
Jennifer Fannin
Aka "I didn't like the relationship"
Read manga :/
One thing that is like to point out about Asuna is her hairstyle. The braid represents her formal and elegant upbringing. While the lose small ponytail represents her _rugged_ side. I say rugged because at this moment as I type this I can’t really think of a better word and im a little to lazy to go and google up a proper word and mess up my safari. While I do enjoy the whole fairy costume they gave her albeit we hardly ever saw her wearing it. I did fell like that was their way of saying she really was the helpless damsel in distress.
I can forgive a lot in an anime so long as it's entertaining. I really can. But about the time they broke the "first" game, because the bad guy decided to just prematurely end it because of a single badly gone fight, then it's all "real world" and fairies? UGH. Can I just say UGH?! NU. STAPH. Seriously, everything they worked for in the game just GONE, in an instant. No more top tier, no more super level to reach, no more secretive super villain. It just ENDS. And then they're fairies. And I'm just like... no. -_-
Yee, I saw this show when I myself was like 13 and even then it kept pissing me of with cliches and shit like that
I just wanted the finale to be worth the investment.
Do I need to say it. I was disappointed.
Same reason I finished Attack on Titan. Soooooo much angsty, over emotional nationalistic whining. So little satisfaction in return. -_-
I finally got around to finishing Sao 2, tbh the final arc salvaged so much of the series for me that it's amazing. It had heart and that's something Sao hasn't had since the first arc.
I skipped most of each episodes, just to see the game world and the fights. But then.... Let's just not explore the game, erase it, and replace it with a new one! I never tought the show was good, as i only liked certain parts. But this just took those precious moments away.
I had no idea there was a SAO season beyond the whole gun gale thing.
I was really not feeling that suicidal today until I found that out.
AstralBronyCorp it's not, it's just an arc, like alfeim in season 1
Skip the calibur arc and go strait to mothers rosario, Just to help.
How the fuck SAO still going on?
the light novels are selling basically
+PhoenixDerps Derp Overlord did the MMO world thing right IMO.
Jorden Moreland well then thanks for giving me something to put on my what to watch list ill check it out
Moose Davis it's by studio madhouse, and the main character isn't a cliche light novel guy. So ya, no A1 bullshit
It's not even half way over. The show has animated Light Novels 1-8. There's 18 in total.
Wasn't the part where Kirito was surrounded by three shadows supposed to symbolize the fact that he was being weighed down by the fact that he killed three Laughing Coffin Members during the raid on their base? And Death Gun being Laughing Coffin caused his guilt to manifest itself more noticeably. That, and Kirito couldn't remember who the three he had killed were, nor who Death Gun was, which I guess strengthened the impact that his guilt had on him.
Why is it even calles Sword Art Online if only the first 15 episodes is about that game-_-
Brand recognition?
Sezune Mizuhana you know i was thinking about that for 2 years. and i still dont have answer.
"S-sir, we do not have time or the budget to create new logos for new season a-and....
-You use it all to pay luxuary cars, and then learning to drive them, didn't you? well, just use the old logo
-T-thank you sir."
My headcanon.
Unicorn Cat because "fuck you that's how!!"
Well, for once they have a (kind of) good excuse for doing that. The games after the first one are based on the same code of the first one, so you could say that all the games that the gang plays are based on sword art online. It's just an excuse for justifing brand recognition, but still..
Jojo openings: Amateurs!
Literally the attention to detail is ridiculous to a single frame finger twitch in the end of the world op literally foreshadowing one of the most powerful abilities our protagonists posses that he never knew until the very last moment to an exact second time walk. Along with showing the Jojo bloodline or legacy and the music is unbeatable with bloody stream or stand proud, chase or fighting gold and every opening has some kind of foreshadow or meaning that you will always find new things or learn more as you keep watching the show and the openings.
Jojo is the ultimate anime in all aspects. Kimetsu no Yaiba OP is also good tho
Yes, Jojo ops are the goats of ops
Jojo fandom is annoying af and needs to appreciate other anime ops, everyone in it acts like it has the best when it doesn’t, there are just straight up more catchy, artistic and beautiful looking and sounding ops out there 😩
@@ren96706 Calm the fuck down, all he is saying is take JoJo's OP's as an example, not saying that it is better than every other Anime OP in the world
@@groove7828 Attack on Titan's first opening still hypes me the most out of ANY anime opening's.
It gives me the feeling to punch a wall.
I didn't catch like any of the symbolism in "Ignite", but looking back its so obvious.
That's probably the only gripe i have with the ignite part. He made it seem as if everything was totally obvious from the get-go, whereas it would make sense if you watched the intros over after seeing the explanation and going back to see it.
yeah
+xXx_MaL_GG_xXx I didn't pay any attention to Ignite, even though to me it was obviously giving away who Death Gun was. It was a crappy intro and I thought maybe it was just a mistake in editing, or that they intentionally did that to make you think it was him, then it was really someone else all along. But he was the only expendable character, being that he wasn't a harem babe or a carryover from previous seasons.
+Zadamanim I second this.
+xXx_MaL_GG_xXx "OH GOD THIS ANIME OP SPOILS EVERYTHING" is literally babby's first animu OP observation. They all do, and they all do only in retrospect when you already know everything about the story. They do not when you sit there without a clue what's going on, then it could be interpreted in various ways.
Death Gun is indeed pretty obvious, that cut is very cliche and hints very strongly at it (not that there's too much wrong with that, the original story does this too from the get go, no need to beat around the bush here in my eyes), but the part about the three dudes and laughing coffin is incredibly reaching like a lot in this video. The internet's hate for Sword Art Online is truly hilarious at times, it brings terrible critics out of the woodworks who can't even read the japanese names in the credits, or be arsed to look them up on sites that translate them for you, yet complain about directing in a way that can be summed up with "the story is bad". Yeah, sure it is, but how's that the director's business? Fucking scrub, lol.
So years later I now consider Ignite perfect. A perfect fit for the sort of audience that might watch through the entire series out of honest enjoyment. I'll bet a good percentage of them thought that the outright spoilers was very clever, subtle foreshadowing and it made them feel like geniuses to discover that.
But Jeff the music is good and the and the animation is nice and it all syncs up all swell like
That doesn't excuse it for having a shit plot and terrible characters.
+Liam Kitchen I was being ironic
+Crusty Namikaze.exe Sorry, I didn't realize that until a little after.
*Geoff
XD well done quoting the video.
I so happy that I not the only one that like the song but not the op or anime itself.
